The space
Let’s talk about what you get when you book this incredible Shenandoah cabin…
Mattis Mountain Getaway is a gorgeous pet-friendly home with 4 bedrooms — a luxurious & comfortable king bed in the master suite and just-as-comfy queen beds in every other room.
But the true highlight of this home is the scenic mountain view from the living room.
Snap some photos in front of our Virginia is for Lovers sign, or chill out on the indoor swings while gazing out over the forest.
Of course, the scenery doesn’t go away when you step outside. There’s nothing quite like grilling up something delicious in our premium Traeger smoker on the porch with a million-dollar view.
After dinner, step out back for a soak in the hot tub spa, nestled among the trees and complete with that dreamy outdoor string lighting worthy of an IG reel — or roast some s'mores around the fire pit.

Aside from our kid-friendly amenities like yard games and a pack-n-play, we have a dedicated game room with a Mortal Combat arcade machine, connect 4, a foosball table, and a projector movie screen that the kids are sure to love!
And in case you have to get some work done, we have a dedicated workspace with high-speed internet from our Starlink.

Bobby's a fantastic, super-responsive host. There are many nice-touch amenities (like make-up removers and extra toothbrush kits in the bathrooms), and even a spare dog bed and dish set for our pup. The house was extremely clean, the beds were comfy and we were all SO relaxed.

"Wow, if I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! What an incredible stay we had!</> The house was absolutely beautiful. Bobby has gone above and beyond in considering the comfort of his guests. The house was absolutely beautiful from the view of the mountains and all the natural light coming in, to the outside fire pit and hot tub area with sting lights overhead. Bobby’s little details made this place so amazing. Everything was so clean. The furniture was so pretty and comfortable. Layout of the house with the open concept was gorgeous. We loved sitting on the deck seeing the mountains. Our kids absolutely loved the swings and the game room with projector. Those details really made this an incredible trip not only for us but our kids too. Bobby was so attentive and although everything was great and we didn’t need him during our stay he made it very clear that he was there if we needed anything, and that was great to have such an attentive host. The area was absolutely gorgeous!"

Mattis Mountain Getaway is located on a gravel road, so please plan accordingly. While it’s on a flat gravel road please note that during inclement weather, such as snow or icy conditions, AWD, 4x4 or tire chains are required. For added precaution, we also highly recommend carrying tire chains, even if your vehicle has AWD or 4x4 capabilities

When you book a stay at Mattis Mountain Getaway, you'll have full access to everything the property has to offer. Meaning this is a completely private experience with no shared spaces.
There is a locked closet for maintenance/cleaner's use.
Other things to note
Mattis Mountain Getaway is located on a mountain road. While it’s on a flat gravel road please note that during inclement weather, such as snow or icy conditions, AWD, 4x4 or tire chains are required. For added precaution, we also highly recommend carrying tire chains, even if your vehicle has AWD or 4x4 capabilities
On that note — although regular pest control measures are taken, the property is in the woods, which means insects may occasionally find their way inside.
The most common insects that may be encountered are flies, stink bugs, and ladybugs. It is important to note that these insects are not harmful, and their presence is merely an annoyance rather than a threat.
Most cellphone providers do not work in the area; however, we have Starlink internet and you will be able to stay connected during your stay.
Also, we don’t want to kill the fun, but please; no smoking or parties are permitted.
Finally, your well-trained furry friend is welcome here for an additional fee.
