Our stay at the BLR was nice and pleasant. I have been staying at this location since the early 90's and ownership has changed hands a few times. 1. Room wasn't ready upon arrival. There's a 2nd location down the street, if the units are overbooked at the BLR Resort, you can expect to stay down the road at the BLR Apmt, you will have access to the pool, but it is not onsite at the Apmt. 2. The restaurant where you can get burgers, etc. is not affiliated with the BLR. Although the burgers were excellent, the service is less than desirable. The staff seem reluctant to take an order 30 min before closing and seem bothered by having to take orders at all. 3. We had a 2 bedroom with 1 king (2 doubles put together) and a queen (2 singles put together) with a kitchenette. There are nice heat pumps in each bedroom and the living room. The suite itself was nice and was everything we needed as a family of 4. It is very evident that general maintenance is required (drape holders cracked/broken; pillow case has blood; shower curtain had blood, Fridge was missing a peg at the bottom and tilted when opened). 4. Cleaning is every third day and they do a thorough job each time, replacing sheets, shower towels, kitchen towels, empty garbage, sanitize floors, etc. 5. Staff are all very nice and accommodating. There are matters that take a while to address (no hairdryer, received two on day 2, but neither worked; oven did not work, replaced with big toaster oven on day 4.

Small hotel across the street from beach.
Restaurant/bar closed. Room was spacious and comfortable but had black mold on walls around AC. There was a nice little private courtyard outside the room with table & chairs. Pool was immaculate! Room safe was locked and unable to be used despite a notice at check in to make sure and lock all valuables in the safe!

These people are scammers! Do not waste your time or energy! A few days before we were scheduled to arrive they decided to tell us they had no rooms available knowing that we would be in a jam to find another place. They then kept our money and put us in a 1 star 2 bedroom apartment (Bonanza Apartments). The lights were dimmed. The staff at the complex (Sharon) was very creepy, dress always inside out. Anytime we needed something fixed they came in the night when we weren’t around to fix it. The door to enter the establishment was through the bedrooms, so anytime you entered it’s through someone’s room. We never got serviced although they told us multiple times we would be and we were there for 7 days. The tv never worked and we were staying with a child. They claimed they were fixing it and we’re still waiting. The shower head water splattered everywhere which that was the only thing they fixed after 3 days. We tried to get some money back (at least two nights) because it was no where near worth the original price paid (over $2,800) for the room we should’ve gotten and the owner Dwayne specifically said to me “What money? Where are you going to find a place now?” He knew he put us in a jam and he scammed us. I will never stay anywhere with his name affiliated. I should’ve read the horrible reviews and NOT went with them because seriously we were beyond disappointed. The place was run down and non functional. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! They shouldn’t even be on Expedia.

Disappointing, disrupted and duped
We had booked a signature suite with two bedrooms as I was traveling with my 85 year old mother, wife and 13 year old daughter. They did not have the room even whe. I went a day early to check as I had seen days before that this was an issue they seem to have. Without being able to make other arrangements I had to accept two studio style rooms in a “sister” property. They at least did not charge me the room tax, but I still feel like it was a flim-flam. Had I just booked a studio style room it would have been fine but having one full size bed for three people was ridiculous. But we were left with no options. I had also inquired with Hotels.com the day before and they said all was fine.

There was alot that happened with my reservation but the property manager did take care of us. They were unable to host us for the 1st night but the second property was not on the same level as BLR. His service was the only only that was worth rating (5/5 for Dwayne). We initially tried to check in with a woman who was not in the office. when we did talk to her she did not mention there was any issue and then asked us to wait for the manager (Manager) who was obviously taking care of other issues. She then proceeded to leave for the day. It was a solid 30 minutes in the bajan sun before we were able to have him take care of our check-in and proceeding issues. Night 1: Different propety Night 2: The room was sufficient but the bed was horrible. It was sunken in the middle and everything hurt the next day. The showers do not drain properly. The room stated ocean view when nothing at the property has an oceanview. Food choices: Bland with bad service In all Dwayne saved the day and gave 5 start service but the property has alot to be worked on

I truly loved the size of the accommodations. I had a full two bedroom two bathroom apartment with kitchen, dining area and living room. The space was great for three adults and wasnlocated on the ground floor. This gave us full access to the pool. What i didn't like was the fact that they advertised a swim up bar and there was none, the parking sucked and for the most part the only person on duty in the office was also the housekeeper among other duties, this caused long wait tumea outside of the office. The level fo experience of thw staff also varied dramatically causing me a hiccup at check-in . This was soon cleared up

Nice stay, great location.
Enjoyed three nights here, and they're very nicely located and within walking distance of all kinds of restaurants, a small market, and car rental shops. Checking in was very easy. Don't forget about the taxes that hotels.com tells you about in the fine print but doesn't charge you at booking. You'll need to remit that when you show up. Everyone (guests and staff) were super friendly. Bajan culture exudes friendliness. The room was comfortable, and the AC worked well. I wish there was a bit more counter space in the bathroom, but we made do. The TV had a firestick on it for use.

The property was great will definitely stay here again if I had one thing to improve it would be the shower in room #10 never had any hot water. Other than that a fantastic stay.

This was a small and cheap spot that I would recommend for those traveling on a budget. Steps to the beach and food.8 min walk up the street to catch the ZR bus to oistens or Accra beach. Dont expect a 5* but has what you need.

Xcellent resort to stay and clean and now they have openned the pool bar which makes it even better.its one of the closest to beach , convenience store and restaurant, located in a prime are of dover beach 5 min walk to beach with 3 kids is amazing..people in and out he resort around are just magnificient and safe! In addtion their restaurant makes amazing food!

The property is well located for the life of St Lawrence Gap and a few nice beaches. The staff is very nice and they even offered us a complimentary drink because our room was not ready after 3pm.Our experience with the room and amenities was not the best. The pool's water was cloudy, and dirty with floating leaves and insects. The room was nice and clean, however the only window was in the door leading to the patio facing the main road. So we had to stay in the dark most of the times to preserve privacy. The shower did not work well when we used it in the morning, only a tiny trickle of water was coming down. Also the shampoo from the hotel was very much watered down and we couldn't use that.

Not worth the $347 a night we paid!
We needed a place to stay last minute as our flight got delayed. We found BLR Resort and it looked decent enough with nice pictures and reviews, it’s just off the beach but not high end in any way. Simple things like where’s the front desk wasn’t clear. Where to rerun our key at check out. The shower was terrible, no water pressure! The bed was 100 years old, but it was safe with a decent location.

You get what you pay for. However, though the unit and grounds were generally clean, there were some cleanliness issues. The bedding was uncomfortable and the beds were very hard. The tv did not work and one of the air conditioning units was quite dated and didn’t respond well. We were there over Christmas so none of the amenities such as the restaurant were open. The room did not have a blow dryer. It was close to a nice beach and there were restaurants within walking distance. It served its purpose but will not rebook.

I did not like the fact that the hotel charged for me 3 nights though I had informed them after booking that my itinerary had changed to two. The maager has assured me the adjustment could be made upon arrival but alas, that was not honoured.
