Walking distance from St George and Attractions

Experience the charm of uptown living in this beautifully updated, vintage 1890s home, just steps from historic landmarks! "Hide-Out" offers an elegant retreat for families, boasting a prime location with convenient parking options. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (including one with a luxurious soaking tub), and spacious bedrooms: a master suite with a king bed, a second bedroom with a queen, and a cozy single room. Relax in the beautiful shared courtyard garden.

Ambiance: It is a quiet neighborhood albeit connected to a very busy tourist town. You will hear people, cars, the cannon fire at the fort, church chimes and the occasional trolley in the daytime. This includes the Firestone during their regular hours.


Guests enter Hide-Out through the main and front door and have exclusive access to the portion of the house. Please note, however, there is another small unit attached around the back side of the house that may also have occupants, so please be mindful of how loud you are as well as tromping up the stairs or dragging luggage up the stairs. Only the garden is shared. Hide-Out guests have free and exclusive access to the full sized washer and dryer.

Parking for one vehicle is available in front of the door on the parking pad (on top of bricks). Street parking is available without yellow curbs. One parking pass to city parking garage is available inside (parking is 2 lovely blocks away)

This house boasts a prime location and a shared courtyard garden. The main house features a living room, dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen/laundry area on the ground floor. Upstairs, you'll find three private bedrooms and two full bathrooms, one with a large soaking tub. Enjoy contemporary appliances, stylish furniture, and tasteful decor throughout. Grill enthusiasts can take advantage of the charcoal grill in the shared garden, which is shared with two other rental units: "Safe Haven" and "Retreat." Each unit is self-contained with private entrances, sharing only the courtyard garden. This rental includes one parking space on the parking pad directly in front, with additional free street parking available.


Walking is best, but you can rent bikes, scooters, three wheelers or grab any of the tourist trollies...all just a few blocks away or call a pedi-cab and they will pick you up at the front of the property!
Parking Down Town 2.50 per hour, not free after 5 pm and Sunday
1 parking pass is available inside for down town garage parking a block away (8 minute walk). Street parking on Abbot st next to and behind the stop sign.

We are NOT A PARTY HOUSE. Please, no events, or "get togethers.” Quiet hours are enforced. Maximum six person total occupancy. Babies are counted in that total. This is an updated older home that is not "child proof" but families with children are welcome!
The garden is for all guests, smoking is OK outside but please be considerate of non-smokers.
No cats or other animals allowed other than dogs on property; limit of 2 dogs per booking
*DOGS* must be kept on a leash at all times.
$50 per dog
We thank you for observing our STRICT non-smoking rules. You are welcome to smoke outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts and be considerate of other guests.

We enforce pet fees for guests traveling with emotional support animals. If a guest refuses to pay, we will not allow the emotional support animal to stay. Picture of Pet fur will be reported and Airbnb will contact guests unwilling to comply with our policies.

Home away from home!

This property needed some attention. We were told we would have coffee when we arrived, but there was no coffee. The bathtub in the bathroom with only a tub the stopper to hold the water did not work. The toilet seat was loose so every time you sat on it it shifted. The blinds at the windows in the living area and dining area were missing a lot of the hardware. The shower curtain was missing it one hook and were rusted. There is a significant gap between the front door and the floor so much so that a lot of air came in. I would have loved to give the home a rating of 5 but due to the lack of attention to detail only a 3. Also the stairs need to have a lighter shade of color due to the steepness and narrow way.

Great walkable location

This was a comfortable place to spend a few nights. The beds were very comfortable and it's in an excellent location within walking proximity to so many things. We did not need to drive at all while we were there (except for a short trip to the beach). We were also very grateful to be able to have our two dogs with us. Great dog-walking neighborhood.

The property is perfectly located. We were walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit and we had a variety of shops and places tonear and drink near us. The host was wonderful. She made every effort to make our stay a perfect one. The unit we stayed in is perfect for our family of 5.

Great location to historic district!

This older home was situated within walking distance to the historic district. Great location! It is in a tight neighborhood but there is a small courtyard in back that is shared with the renters on the back of the house and the carriage house renters. The house is stocked with the basics (as was stated) so would be great for a stopover. However, pack a lot if down for a week! Wished the kitchen had a few more supplies for cooking and grill was usable. We did contact host and she offered to bring additional pots/pans (she did) and a new grill. No problem with the host response but we are just used to more hospitality items in homes I suppose. The beds and pillows were great and comfy. The air conditioner worked great even though it was very hot that week near 100 degrees daily. Overall we enjoyed our location and the house. The city of St. Augustine was great to visit!

Perfect little paradise!

The house was perfect! Bed was cozy and myself and my sisters felt right at home. Everything was walking distance. The neighborhood was peaceful. I’ll definitely be booking one of Huyen’s places again! The only “suggestion” I have is for more charging stations in the bedrooms. The out let was far from the bed and made keeping the phone on the nightstand a challenge. Other than that, the place was perfect. Our host was extremely kind and helpful. A perfect 10 in my book.

Quick getaway!

Property location was fantastic! Would recommend based on location alone for historic St. Augustine experience. We had 3 adults so the house was more than enough room. This is not a vacation home to stay in for the house, but it is perfect for a place to sleep and explore the town.

The location and house were PERFECT! The house was comfy and beautiful. All sleeping rooms and bathrooms are upstairs and we really liked that. Living areas and kitchen downstairs so making coffee and breakfast and watching TV in the mornings didn’t disturb anyone sleeping. They had complimentary coffee and tea in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathrooms. We’ll stay here again next time we visit St. Augustine! It was perfect for us!

Night of lights fun

Needed a place to stay close by the nightlight. Perfect place for us. Just a heads up, both bathrooms are on the 2nd floor with the bedrooms. House is very clean and comfortable. Only room for one car parking so if more than one car, you have to park away from the house. we had a great time and enjoy your stay there.

Very Convenient

This Historic 3 bed, 2 bath home is within walking distance to everything. All the bedrooms and baths are upstairs, with all living areas downstairs. There are many restaurants within walking distance, as well. St. Augustine is a walking city, so walking to the castle is just 10 mins away. The Fountain on Youth is a 5 min drive. There is a small convenient store across the street from the property in case you need anything. The property is centrally located. My only negative is the "Quiet hours" 10 pm - 8am. They really should be 11pm - 7am. I'm not a loud person but I felt like I couldn't watch TV after 10 pm.

A must visit

Stayed at this beautiful home in St. Augustine during a friend’s weekend. For some of us, it was our first time visisting and we were not sure if the location of this listing was too far from all the must see attractions. We were proven wrong! This location was excellent! The furthest we had to walk was 12 minutes to the Foutain of Youth, with down town only taking us an 8 minutes walk. The home was clean with clear rules about quiet hours and check out instructions. If we return to St. Augustine we will book this home again.

Last Minute Trip

We booked this unit last minute. It is in a cute neighborhood and everyone we encountered were friendly. It is walking distant to Castillo de San Marcos, George St, shops, etc. The communication with the owner was flawless. All the details were provided prior to entering the property and any questions that we had were answered promptly. We truly enjoyed our stay here and we will be back.

Very Nice Stay

Huyen was very responsive when we requested a different coffee maker. The house is in a very good location—an easy 10 minute walk to downtown and an east 10 minute drive to the beach. The check in process was easy. I would definitely stay here again.
