Sitting in the heart of the historic town of Saint Augustine, this home is in an ideal location to check out the local museums, amusement parks, and popular attractions in the area. Old Jail, Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, Castillo de San Marcos are all within a mile of your front door. Once in town, there are great dining options that are sure to fill any craving.

Adorable house
Such a cute house. Had everything we needed. Was so close to everything we wanted to do. The best sleep I’ve had in a long time. Forgot to see what manufacturer it was. Made breakfast Saturday and ate outside in the sweet backyard. My 84yo mother loved it and the weekend was about her. She had some difficulty on front steps and little incline to front door but made it beautifully. I was a bit taken aback about the front door swinging out. Gave me a bit of a hard time getting in initially because I kept trying to push door in (like a normal door).

Double rental
Overall this VRBO lived up to our expectations. It was clean, cute, conveniently located for walking to downtown. The only thing we would mention is that they also rent a studio above as a VRBO. That was a little annoying as you could hear everything above the master we were in including heavy stomping feet, conversations, a dog & things being dropped on the floor which kept us up due to upstairs guests staying up late. Not noise proof at all and quite annoying. We werent told about upstairs rental. If that is rented at same time, you have to "share" on site amenities and porch area kinda awkward. Wish we were told about the other rental on site. Would definitely disclose that to future guests.

Nice clean place with a few quirks...
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. It was clean, and as far as toiletries and laundry it was well-stocked. We were a bit suprised to find that the kitchen was pretty bare, there wasn't even salt and pepper, which was a bit disappointing comared to other VRBOs we've stayed in. The location is great. There is an affordable moped rental company just down the street, and you can walk to downtown St. Augustine relatively easily. You should also realize that, to get upstairs, the upstairs guests have to walk past the large glass doors which look into the lower level. We had to keep the shades drawn at all times. We also never used the backyard due to it being a shared space with the upstairs- it just felt a bit awkward. It would be great if you wanted to plan with a friend and they rented the upstais while you rented the lower half. It was a bit loud at night. I sleep heavily and was woken up more than once, but I also come from a more rural area, so you may be able to take that with a grain of salt. Ultimately, I feel like this was a good value, but on my next visit to St. Augustine, I'll spend up a little more to gain privacy.

Loved the way it was laid out. Daughter and husband came for four days and it worked out we had the back bedroom. In walking distance to lot’s eating places and activities. You could hear people upstairs walking but didn’t bother us. We travel with a noise machine and that’s great at night can’t hear footsteps.

Close to Many Attractions
The house was just the right size for two friends, traveling together. This cottage was part of collection of homes in the historically African American residential community. Throughout the city of St. Augustine, the multi-cultural history is such a wonderful experience. The cottage is located on a walkable location, but certainly some guests may need a car. Close to the Fountain of Youth and the Ridley’s Believe it or Not location. The cottage has two bathrooms, one that had a smallish shower, the other had a large walk in shower, off the main/ king size bedroom. The smaller bathroom had a slight problem with the flush mechanism. Text to the VaCasa service line resulted in multiple texts back and forth. I was able to fix the flush mechanism good enough to get through rest of our stay, but the local manager did not reach out to us. The kitchen was nice, with granite counter tops. The microwave above the stove did not work. There was a small counter top one, which worked for our needs. We ate out @ each meal, but the cottage would benefit from a larger working microwave. The back courtyard looks very nice, but we didn’t use any of the amenities. There was a TV and nice looking grill and outdoor bar with bar top chairs. The other component of this rental is there is another rental above the main bedroom. It is slightly confusing for renters who are upstairs and through the back gate. On two occasions, renters for the upstairs apartment tried our front door.

The cottage was very nice. Loved the layout but the previous reviews are correct. Dogs barked upstairs when the owner went out, although she did keep apologizing. Heavy footsteps above. The floors could have been cleaner. The dishwasher did not work. Some outlets did not work and I realize this is an older home. Traffic noise.

The house was very cozy & cute. The front bedroom had a comfy bed. The master bedroom & bathroom were very spacious & nice, but if the upper "apartment" is rented out you will hear EVERYTHING. It is directly over the master. We stayed 4 nights & there were 4 different people that stayed there. Vacasa allows their employees to rent their properties for half price, so they may stay one night. We only slept in the master 2 nights because of the noise. The house was in a good location to downtown. The street is busy because people cut through. We would stay here again if we rented the upper apartment too.

Nice place but they need to upgrade the one shower. We all shared the back bedroom shower because it was so bad. McDonald's wasn't an issue. There was quite a bit of noise from the upstairs unit but not enough to complain about. Cute house, quite area. Would rent again.

Just improvements needed
We enjoyed our stay & appreciate you renting it to us.I just want to mention a few improvements needed: • Yard maintenance is needed - everything from flower beds, leaves, broken tree limbs, etc. • There's 2 pieces of rebar next to the sidewalk that's a trip hazard. It may be a property corner marker, but it should be level with the ground instead of sticking up. • The handrail walking up the front porch steps needs repair. It's not stable. • The fence is broken in a few places. We were able to wedge one full-size broken board, but it needs to be secured with nails or screws. There is at least one other piece that's broken. It's not a full-size board, but it was big enough for our little dog to fit through. • The upstairs renters left the gate open. Our dog escaped & we had to chase him down the street. I thought maybe you could mention this possibility to future renters. • The washing machine is molded really bad on the inside & needs to be cleaned thoroughly. This can be prevented by leaving the door open after each use so that it can air dry. • The shower in the front bathroom needs to be replaced. The walls are rotted. The metal rack in the shower is rusted & should be thrown away. • The ceiling fan light fixture in the front bedroom needs to be replaced. We were not able to turn the light off from the string & had to unscrew the light bulbs in order to use the ceiling fan without the lights on.

This property was very nice for a small family. The only thing I found lacking was the second bath. The shower is in terrible shape. It definitely needs to be replaced. The master bath was wonderful with a huge shower. It was in a good location as well.

Great location but some problems
The location is great and the house is fine. The front bathroom shower is dirty and cracked and no hot water comes out (although the sink in that room had hot water). Also, the house is right next to a 24-hour McDonald’s drive through. Noise all night and dumpster pick up very early every morning. Finally, not the fault of the homeowner, but check in was 4pm. We arrived at 3:45pm and called because the code wouldn’t work. We were told we couldn’t check in until 4pm despite it being clean and no one was there. We had to wait on the porch for 15 minutes waiting for the code to activate. Frustrating!

LOVE THIS PLACE
My fiancé and I absolutely loved this place. It was so clean and the colors were bright and welcoming. It was spacious and felt like home. The amenities were so nice, and the backyard was so cool! The host was immediately available via phone to help us with check-in. And to be honest, having a McDonalds in walking distance was a bonus!

Great location and cute property. It was convenient to walk to the historic district which was helpful as parking is difficult and expensive in the historic district. Layout of the unit was great and worked well for two couples. Kitchen was well stocked with nice appliances, including a water dispenser on the refrigerator. Bathroom in the primary bedroom was awesome but the bathroom in the secondary bathroom had a shower in dire need of repair. Was usable but had cracks in the shower. Beds were comfortable. Check in process was good but we had questions regarding parking as that was unclear. When texting questions about parking, we received a prompt reply. Communication was good with exception of one concern which the property manager never responded to during our stay. There is a nice outdoor area which we enjoyed when sitting outside. The grill could have been cleaner. The unit had nice furnishings throughout. Would stay here again if ever in the area.

Weekend get away
We wanted a two day get away to just have a blast and relax, not only did we do that, but we felt comfortable and safe in the home too. My friends and I enjoyed the back yard so much and the easy access to the downtown area made it so worth it. At first we were worried about safety with the place, but it turned out to be very good for us all, and the street was quiet with no foot traffic. I’ll be back there for sure.

Location to McDonalds not optimal. Traffic on I -1 very loud. House was was quaint could use some refreshing up. Second shower needs to be renovated very small.
