The Archer Home
âThe Archer Homeâ in Springfield, Illinois is a charming home located in the best area of town, known for its safety, tranquility, and pleasant surroundings. Situated directly next to the Sangamon Valley bike trail, this cozy retreat offers 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a relaxing hot tub, and a convenient office space. The entire house is fully furnished and tastefully staged to ensure a delightful stay for all guests. Our home is within 20 minutes of virtually everything in Springfield!
This home is perfect for events at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. We stayed there for a national sheep show we were attending. Easy trip to and from the fairgrounds. It was a HOT week and the house was a cool oasis, the hot tub was so nice after a long day on our feet. Lots of restaurants and grocery options close by. Comfortable beds and a safe, quiet neighborhood. We were there on the Fourth of July and enjoyed fireworks from the front porch. Absolutely plan to stay again if we are in the area.
Girls trip and this spacious house with two great showers/bathrooms had plenty of room for us. Location was perfect for us to try different restaurants, shopping areas, and sight-seeing stops. We used the rocking chairs on the front porch every day!
We came to the area to attend a Celebration of Life for a very dear member of our family. There was plenty of room for us. The home is just as pictured and located on the far west side of Springfield. Close to restaurants and shopping. Home has a large bright nicely stocked kitchen including all kitchen utensils one might need for cooking, a laundry area just outside the kitchen with washer and dryer. The home is older and has been remodeled with nice decor and was quite clean. Would definitely rent again if back in the area.
This neat, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated home was perfect for our family while we were in Springfield for a family wedding. Kitchen appliances as well as washer and dryer are new, clean, and work well. The furniture is comfy and very nice. The fenced-in backyard was great for our dog to run around in. The homeâs location was perfect for us, as we could easily drive to see friends and family, go shopping, and do some sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it.
We were looking for a place that could handle 3 couples. This house was great with a very nice kitchen and living room to accommodate us all. The location was very nice and easy to get everywhere we wanted to go.
Unfortunately, we were in need of a rental for our mother's funeral. We have a
family dog so needed a pet friendly rental. This was a
perfect solution. It borders a lovely neighborhood and has a fenced in yard so Jax could get outside. It was much better than having to navigate a hotel stay.

My family and I were favorably impressed with the cleanliness, the comfort of the beds and the location. I cannot think of anything that wasn't really great about the place.
The Archer House is located within 15-20 minutes of all things Springfield, Illinois. It is located across the street from a subdivision of nice homes which we saw on a long walk one evening. We were able to visit the Lincoln home, walk to the train depot, stay a long time at the Lincoln Museum, tour the Dana Thomas House and dawdle at the Lincoln New Salem site (30 minutes away at Petersburg), and walk Washington Park. We also made many other short stops at downtown places. We enjoyed several great restaurants within a short distance from the tourist sites. We did this without hurrying - all in three days. The home has good sleeping accommodations for 6, and our 7th person slept on the couch - comfortable, but not a pullout. The two bathrooms (one ensuite) worked out well with our group of seven - three couples and a single adult. We would recommend this home to anyone wanting a clean, quiet and safe place to stay while visiting the historical sites. We thank our hosts for providing a nice place to stay and listening to our couple of recommendations to make their home even more appealing to the next guests.
Property was wonderful and spacious. Very clean with lots of extras provided. Close to Illinois St Fairgrounds and in a really nice neighborhood. We definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Springfield.
Only 2 draw backs for us. 1. No front porch furniture. It rained the first night and the kids had the living room TV and there was no place for the adults to go because the back isn't under cover, so we were all in the kitchen. 2. There are only 4 chairs in the kitchen and there were 6 of us, since NO ONE is ever allowed to eat anywhere other than the kitchen it was a little tricky. Otherwise everything else was perfect.
