3 bedroom Farmhouse on the River
Come out to your paradise away from home! You will have 4 kayaks, a fire pit and an amazing back yard to sit and enjoy the view. The house has been completely updated and has a full kitchen so you can stay at home and cook or eat at an amazing local restaurant.
A great little hidden gem. Located minutes from the springs water parks and a short paddle to the clear water. We were shocked to see manatee this late in the year but we saw 3, 2 different times!
We booked the property with 24hrs notice after another location was cancelled. Grateful this home was available the dates we needed. Located along a canal a 15min paddle away from the main river to head towards Rogers Park (1mile) or towards mangrove/clear water (1mile). The home provided several kayaks and paddles but did not have adult life jackets; and we packed our own paddleboards where were easy to launch from the back dock. The kitchen was clean, with newer appliances and the host provided a thoughtful welcome snack basket. The home is located in an older area where homes are primarily double-wide manufactured units with window AC/no central air; how the AC in each room was cold after returning from the hot Florida sun. The home sleeps 6 in the 3 bedrooms but there is room to put an air mattress if you want to accommodate 8. We enjoyed a 3 night stay which was just the right amount of time for adults and kids to paddle the Springs and see many manatee up close. We picked up all our food at a Walmart nearby before checking in, though we went out one night to the Tipacanoe Creamery for a treat; and finished our trip with a stunning sunset at the nearby Bayport Park overlooking the peaceful preserves. Spring Hill and Weeki Wachee Springs is a MUST visit low-key relaxing but fun for all ages destination.
We liked the cleanliness of the cabin. Also the cabin is not far away from the main river.
Now there are few things we didn't like:
We really didn't like there are 4 tv screens but NO dishwasher.
For hygiene reasons, plates and glasses should be washed at very high temperature before they are used by the next guest. At least we expect that before we use them after who knows how many people before us.
There were no water plugs in any of the kayaks and one of the orange kayaks was leaking from the bottom. Paddling after a few hours was very difficult because it had taken on a lot of water.
The ceiling in the cabin is very low, especially in the part where the floor is raised. I hit my head on the ceiling beam twice.
The house was beautifully set up. Kitchen had everything we would need. Yard had plenty of space. View was beautiful. Had manatee swimming and feeding directly in front of the dock. Not far from hospital hole( a local have to see spot). Not far from rogers park. Kayaks right there to use with life jackets. And if you have a large group there was a house right beside it owned by the same family i believe. Will definitely visit again.
My family and I had such a lovely stay in your home. We loved using the kayaks to explore the river. On the first day of our stay we were visited by a mother and baby manatee! The house was spacious for the 6 of us. The beds were amazing! I haven't slept so well in a long time! The location was great, giving us easy access to the river, restaurants, and shops. We had a very hard time leaving to return to real life! Thank you for hosting us!
The river is very busy and glad this place wasnt on the river. It was on a quiet canal close to the river. We saw manatee, turtles and flying fish
Make sure to plan your boating around the tides. Hope the owner fixes the handles on the kayaks for better mobility. Overall great experience
We loved this place and would surely stay here again. We've now stayed at three different places in the Weeki Wachee Gardens area and this place has my favorite view on the canal side, with a number of big trees across the canal and a couple of nice palms in the yard. There's a great backyard firepit and a well-stocked woodpile. It's kayaking on the canals that draws us here and the house had a great selection of kayaks, all in good shape aside from some minor issues with seat straps on a couple, but easily resolved. There were a couple of quirky things, like a low doorframe between kitchen/dining area and living room. Getting in and out of kayaks was a little challenging for me when the water was low, but much of that was my old knees. Light switches were labeled--a nice touch. There was a fine screened-in porch, too. The owners were very attentive and welcoming, and clearly interested in their guests having a good stay.
Our family enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and little welcome amenities came in handy. The house was very clean and the layout was perfect for a party of 6. Several family games were available for when it rained and it was a short paddle to the main river. The host was quick when responding. We would certainly stay again. Thank you!
Owners were amazing, were available when needed anything at all. Beautiful memories and a great place period. Had a great time no issues. Thank you so much!
My family greatly enjoyed staying at the property! The kayaks provided some adventurous fun, while the fire pit gave us a cozy hangout at the end of the day. Itâs close to Weeki Wachee Springs, which is a plus. And Anthony was a great and accommodating host!
We had a wonderful stay. Nicely decorated on inside, very much enjoyed the fire pit. Loved having the kayaks and paddling the river. We got to see the manatees and an alligator.
