Property was convenient but the standard of room was very basic. No toilet paper in the bathroom, only one coffee pack that was decafe, only body wash (no shampoo/conditioner/soap) bed was ok but pillows, old, They need attention to details if they want people to come. We only stayed there because everywhere else was fully booked.

The room is basic but clean, we were put in the 2nd floor so it’s not ideal for people with mobility issues, but for a room in a pub and for the money is adequate

This is a very old building, quaint and just across the road from Sherborne Abbey. There is on-site parking (which I didn't use) and it is about 7 minutes walk from the station (which I did use). It is right in the town centre, which is a delight to explore, with a number of good restaurants nearby.

Very poor value for money. Caped off wine hanging from bedroom ceiling, broken window catch in bathroom, shower curtain much too short, soap dispenser broken, WC unsafe, altogether very poor maintenance and very grubby.

Good central location in Sherborne
Good central location and easy parking, just ignore ticket machines and give reception staff your car reg upon arrival. Friendly staff and cooked breakfast very good.Also had a dinner in one night, reasonably priced and a range of menu choices. Bed in our room very comfy, but rooms and decor looking a bit tired. Plumbing probably needs a bit of attention as our sink drained very slowly (reported) and toilet seat needs changing for one that's the correct size. Overall, a pleasant short stay.

This is a good, old fashioned pub experience. The accomodation is clean and funktionalitet. The menu offers enough variety and well cooked. The staff friendly but professional. The atmosphere relaxing and welcoming even on busier nights. Whole experience felt safe. Important when travelling with an elderly person. Stairs were managable.

The heating did not work so both the bar area and the rooms / corridors were freezing. The bathroom looked like a cheap renovated London flat, cheap plastic wall coverings, black mould, toilet did not flush properly, sink was blocked. Paper thin adjoining walls/rooms. Staff were fine ,but the place was terrible.

Staff helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. Bedroom fine though a heating problem kept us chilly on the coldest 2 nights for a while!!! A big comfy bed but bathroom needs a bit of up-dating. Food good. Good selection of beers behind bar.

I experienced a faultless stay at the Half Moon. From the warm welcome to the fond farewell this was a stay that I will remember for all the right reasons. The room was very well appointed and a comfortable place to stay which was spotlessly clean, in great decorative order and well maintained. The bed was very comfy with crisp, clean linen, there was a modern, large smart television, superb Wi-Fi and a nice place to sit and work. The large bathroom was also spotlessly clean and benefitted from fluffy towels. Noise was not an issue for me, some might find the creaky floorboards an irritant. Did not have the opportunity to eat or drink in the pub but it seemed very welcoming and good value. Overall a superb stay and highly recommend to others.

My flight was delayed and I arrived well after closing, the receptionist was great, really helpful. The bed was comfortable Breakfast was lovely

The location is very good being a short walk from the station and in the centre of Sherborne. However, the room was very plain and expensive at the price. Breakfast was not included.

I have stayed at the Half Moon many times. On the last 3 times I have not been able to park in the hotel car park because all the spaces are taken by shoppers. The only alternative is to go to the public car park which is about 500m away, pay £10 and carry luggage back and forth. I don’t understand why Marstons cannot allocate spaces for their hotel customers - the adjacent hotel has allocated spaces. The hotel should not advertise free parking when it is not available.

Good morning, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Unfortunately with us being a pay and display car park we cant stop anyone from using it as long as they pay. We are however in the process of trying to come up with a solution for the car park to be available for our guests only.

Convenient for short stay
Comfortable, convenient single room, clean spacious bathroom for 2-night weekend stay. Not well sound insulated so conversations in the next room and the corridor rather too audible. Music from the bar stopped around 11pm so no problem. Room service was a bit haphazard - cups not properly cleaned, bed not properly made, but the location in the centre of Sherborne suited me, and I would be prepared to stay there again.

Comfortable twin beds. Disappointing to see wall-fixings: shower fitting, rim-lock on door and wall-mounted radiator - out-of-plumb. loose and not horizontal. Stained bath. Damaged wall panel - badly repaired Insufficient toilet-roll meant having to request supply. Steep staircase no offer to assist with luggage. 1st Morning: Breakfast Service - Poor. 2nd Morning: Breakfast Service - Excellent. Evening Meal: Satisfactory ‘Pub Grub’

I was not impressed. The whole place needs updating. We had a blocked sink which was not attended too having reported it. There is a horrible stain in the bath and the toilet needed bleaching as it was badly stained! It was grubby! Stains all round. In there favour the beds were comfortable and clean also the towels were clean. There was a shortage of toilet roll. The breakfast was enjoyable! The hotel was noisy! We won’t be back. Sorry!
