Lovely, cozy little cabin nestled next to the river. There were four of us, which felt like a perfect amount but the cabin can sleep up to seven, including the futon. Two rooms (four beds) are lofted and the cabin is up a long staircase, so not recommended for those with difficulty climbing stairs. Very clean and hospitable with clear, easy check- in/out instructions and plenty of pots, pans, and dishware. Because it's on stilts the cabin shakes a little when people are moving about but it didn't keep us awake. We had a very pleasant stay!

Great getaway by the Shenandoah river!
We are a family of 5 with 2 dogs and the cabin was perfect for us! There was plenty of room with the 2 bedrooms and 2 lofts (each loft had 2 mattresses). The view from the balcony was beautiful overlooking the river! The cabin was fully stocked with towels, pans, plates, cups and silverware. Underneath the cabin is a great little enclosed area for our dogs while we used the Webber grill to cook hamburgers. We brought our 2 kayaks and used one of the canoes at the cabin to go explore the river. We also went on a great hike (Mary's Rock Summit) which was only a 1/2 hour away. We all had a great time getting away and spending time together in a beautiful location! We would definitely go back! Thank you!

An Unplugged Getaway
Let me start off by saying, if you or your children can't be away from a TV for too long this is not the place for you. However, if your goal is to get your family out and about and away from electronics then this is the place for you! There's still internet so your phones, laptops, tablets, etc work but my goal was to get my son to take a break from all of that for awhile and he did! We got to play games - cards, Battleship - and just talk as a family. He LOVED playing in the loft area but decided to sleep in the bedroom with the AC since it was early July. The canin was just the right size for us to relax but I was still able to cook a few meals. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. The water access was incredible! We spent 5+ hours everyday in the river - swimming, fishing, kayaking and tubing. We brought my husbands kayak so he could fish from it and we purchased inner tubes at Walmart that were already inflated for about $8. We ventured into Luray for the caverns, dinner and icee cream. Shenandoah National Park was about 40 minutes away through the Thorton Gap wntrance. We hiked in the park in the morning and hungout in the river in the afternoon. It was a wonderful vacation and much needed!!

A gem of spot
This was a great spot! We loved the location on the river- kids played down by the dock for most of our time there. The lofts were very cool and the house was well stocked.

Good base camp for exploring local area
My family enjoyed staying at this location. Due to the weather and extreme cold, the drain pipe for the shower was frozen solid. The owner was very responsive in trying to get the issue solved. He ended up refunding some of the cost due to the inconvenience. We would absolutely consider staying here again, especially during the warmer months. Thanks James for being a great owner!

Did a little digging in the area for a get together for me and my group of friends. We love outdoor activities so we throughly enjoyed the location. The cabin was super unique and enjoyable. I love the little play pen below the house we brought our dogs so it was nice to give them a safe space to play. Def will be returning, thanks so much for hosting this beautiful cabin

We enjoyed the locale and unit but a couple things to consider: (1) Main seating in the living room is an uncomfortable futon. (2) Bring toilet paper with you. It’s in the fine print…we ran out as there was only one roll. Our mistake for overlooking. Also, if you don’t want to wash dishes, bring paper plates, cups, and plastic cutlery. Also, kitchen knives are dull, so consider bringing your own if you do a lot of cooking. (3) Beds are soft…super soft. Beyond that, we found the rental to be charming and cozy. It’s close to many activities and the town. of Luray is full of charm.

Great clean cabin
The cabin is very clean inside and outside. Has all the necessary essentials for an enjoyable stay. Owner has great instructions so you can enjoy all the features of the cabin. A road runs in front of the cabin and railroad behind, so you have to cross road to get to the river, which is literally one minute walk. A nice spot with a fire pit by the river for relaxing evenings. WiFi is weak and second bedroom needs curtains or blinds. Great time!

We had a relaxing 4 day weekend . The cabin is A bit small but there was 4 adults so it fit well for us. Fire bit on the river or beside the house was great . Grilled out on the charcoal grill a couple times really enjoyed are stay. Thank you

Quaint, Cozy, Comfortable Cabin
Our stay was short, as we were in the area only for a weekend. The cabin was very clean and comfortably furnished. If the weather was nicer we would have spent time sitting on the front porch and enjoying the view of the river across the street, but it was a cold and rainy weekend. We did have some spare time one evening so we played Chinese Checkers which we found on a shelf in the sitting room. There was helpful information provided to inform of Things to Do and Restaurants in the immediate area. We also marveled at the interior wood construction of the cabin. The construction was beautiful and the place looked just as you would expect a small cabin in the Shenandoah Valley to look like! We enjoyed our stay.

Accuracy of listing is wrong. Only 2 bedrooms, loft areas very small with very small mattresses on floors. Very small overall inside, bathroom shower is so tiny, missing basic kitchen supplies, plates when pulled out of cabinet were dirty, & sheets were not clean! Also air conditioning in bedrooms did not work properly & there was a note that said do not turn under 72. The cabin was super hot. We actually left the night before we were supposed to check out bc we couldn’t sleep another night there! Stayed in many homes off of VRBO & this was our least fav. River view is nice but there is a street be the house & river. Train tracks right behind the house & train goes by several times. We did enjoy the hiking & other adventures, just not the house. Sorry for the poor review but these are the facts.

Great Property on the River
We stayed here in the middle of June for a weekend family getaway. We had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying this peaceful location. Even though it rained most of the weekend that did not take away from the trip. We spent time playing board games and taking in the view of the river. My husband did manage to get some fishing time in. The hosts did a great job of providing everything needed for a stress free stay.

Bikes & canoes for use was a pleasant addition! The yard had plenty of space for us to play games, plus there were 2 spaces for a bonfire. River access was phenomenal! Just across the street. Everyone enjoyed unplugging from screens to reconnect with family.

We stayed here for two nights and it was so much fun. The cabin was just as advertised and had everything we needed. My kids loved the loft and the pier across the street. Visited Lurray caverns and the Massanutten Water Park. Train was cool too. Was the perfect getaway!

Unbelievably beautiful. Heavenly location, gorgeous Log cabin, plenty outdoor hanging out, BBQ place. The train line behind a lodge was a beautiful experience. The house is not that big but the way it's orange, enough space for everyone. Was neat and clean and very organized. Fishing on the property was fun. Couldn't go to the water for swimming or floating cause it was bit chili. Property manager response within seconds. No doubt I'll be back soon.

Great weekend getaway
I will echo other reviews in that the cabin was really clean and tidy. Everything has its place and it was so comfortable!! It was a super cold weekend but we didn’t feel not one bit of it!! The cabin was super warm and cozy!! The owner even left some ice melt, that was pet friendly, so we wouldn’t slip and fall! Thanks for that! There is tons of items to use outside!!! Canoes, items to start fires, bicycles and anything for water use. Unfortunately it was a tad too cold this weekend and we couldn’t take advantage! Must return in the warmer months!!!! The only thing that we didn’t like, NO fault to the owner, but WE took the blame for because we didn’t ask prior, was that the house was not as Secluded as we thought and was right on a busy road with neighbors. We did read some comments about a road being close we just didn’t expect it to be right in front of the house and between us and the river. Other than those few things we had an amazing time and needed the rest!
