« Only had a short stay at this lovely little place Staff very chatty/friendly Had minor issue which was dealt with promptly and without any question or fuss The breakfast choices were very good and cooked as you asked for it .. not just your average semi warm buffet, cooked fresh The restaurant food was also very good with plenty of choices Our bathroom was in need of some TLC but is due for upgrade - did not affect there was plenty of hot water, clean towels daily and lovely soaps etc already...

« The Red Dragon is advertised as "Has Onsite parking Very Rare for location. That was the reason we booked it. When we arrived we discovered it has zero parking. The manager and staff apologised and advised where we should park. the town is short of longterm parking. We ended up spening a lot of time driving around and paying a lot for overnight parking. « We stayed for 2 nights in a very small double standard room. No storage space,just a bar about a metre long to hang a couple of items on and small bedside drawers .There was a complimentary breakfast provided and tea making facilities but only a tiny stool so breakfast had to be eaten sitting on the bed. All that being said the room was clean and the bed . In the shower room there is a small towel rail but only big enough for hand towels,we had to drape the wet bath towels over the shower door....

« The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen.
