The property was a convenient distance from Seaham and has onsite parking, though a bit tight on entry when busy. It has a relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and laid back. Our room wasnt ready on arrival so we had an unexpected wait, but we just had a drink in the pleasant outside area whilst we waited. Rooms were separate from the pub/restaurant but also accessible via internal door.
Food was average, portions on the small side, not the best value for money.
Overall, a pleasant stay with all we needed for an overnight stop off.
The outside of this hotel is deceptive. Inside it is spacious, well decorated and our room was large and excellent, very well equipped, although my partner did not appreciate the wet room! I showered and afterwards he walked in with his socks on! It was a bathroom set up for anyone with a disability.
We had a small evening meal, having been out for Sunday lunch and then to a party, but it was very tasty. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of choice. I can't fault the service. It is excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again should we be in the area.
