Beds were not hotel quality as advertised. Internet was slow and spotty. Construction vehicles started at 6:30 in the morning and were still going when we checked out at 11am, literally driving behind our tent. Communication on where to go and needing to drag your bags through mud to get to tent. Staff did not show you to tent or have any additional service for the expense at staying in the glamping experience

Everything was all right. It's sunny at dawn, so it's recommended that people tie them in tents prepare long-sleeved long pants. There is no refrigerator, so you have to use the ice box in the tent, and the ice is ready to be taken next to the office at any time. The Safari Tour is highly recommended. It was my first time to see animals this close and it was so good. My son wants to come back next year. Knock knock dear owner, please considering to set up auto gate in safari.

The new born rhinoceros and zebra were delightful! Our guide, Lindsay, was so knowledgeable about the wildlife. Totally enjoyable safari!

This is a get getaway experience. We only went for a night, and we felt as if we were in the wild in a different country. The room can get a little chilly at night, but they have a heather in the tent. They have a snack bar where you can get tea, water and hot chocolate 24/7. There's a cooler outside every tent!

Our stay was fantastic! The book explaining how to adjust the comfort level; heater, heated blankets, fan. etc. was very helpful. Loved the decor and the thought that went into making it look safari-ish. The only problem was that there were not enough places to hang wet towels and wash cloths. Also, the shower was kind of dark. One improvement would be to add some identification to the cages as to what we are looking at, Especially the birds. Megan gave a wonderful tour with lots of information and humor. The animals mostly cooperated and were visible and compliant. Great experience. All ages (9-80) enjoyed it and would like to come again.

Absolutely unique and beautiful! It was a great experience, tent is luxurious, surrounding is amazing and still a lot of things to see after “ busses hours “. It was like spending night at the Zoo, animals were making all noises and kids had a lot of fun!

We absolutely recommend this resort. Kids had a lot of fun. We certainly had lots of fun. The rooms were great, spacious and really nicely decorated with African theme. Breakfast which was included was pretty good. Dinner on Saturday (thd Family style BBQ) was really delish. And we are really picky when it comes to food. Room had everything we needed. Our room had a park view so we enjoyed watching Giraffes from our patio in the mornings. We stayed 2 nights and had a 6m old baby with us and found everything being great. The only thing we would recommend for the hotel is to put fridge into rooms and provide electric tea pots.but that’s nice to have since they did give us a very large cooler. We stayed as a group in 2 tents and absolutely loved it and certainly will be back.

The staff was outstanding....professional and courteous. Sammy was fantastic.....and Chris in the dining room. Last Tuesday it was windy and cold....then rain and hail. The heater in the room was inadequate...however the heated blankets were a salvation.

The room was excellent. The staff was very well versed in making everything flow smoothly. Be aware you will be without cell service or internet. The animals, especially the birds, do make some noise. That for us was no problem at all, indeed a bonus.

They are the best
Best safari experience that I had. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and lunch were delicious. The tour was great: the animals were amazing and different to every zoo, the park is beautiful and Jackson was very knowledgeable and friendly. My tent was very pretty, safe, and comfortable.

Fun space to stay.
Family vacation with daughter, son-in-law and grandchild. We had been looking forward to this stay for a long time and had heard great things about Safari West. We enjoyed the tour very much and our guide Kira was exceptional. There was a wide array of animals and we got to see them up close. We have been to some of the best zoos in the world, San Diego and Bronx, and this was amazing. The dinner was only so so and was quite costly. If we were to stay again, I would eat elsewhere. The choices for a vegan were underwhelming and I was told the that meat was not great. The food was also served lukewarm. That would be fine if not for the high price for the meal. The tent was very well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The only recommendation that I would have for the double tent is to include a second space heater. It was 30 degrees out last night and the one space heater was not sufficient to heat the space. We were quite cold despite the electric blankets, one of which kept coming unplugged. We loved hearing the animal sounds at night but sadly only got to hear them after our obnoxious neighbors finally quit their partying around midnight. No one came by from the staff to tell them that they were too loud and disturbing everyone and no way for us to contact the office to ask them to do so as we had no cell reception. Finally, this is not a criticism but something to be aware of - there is a lot of sulfur in the water so be prepared - don't wash your hair in it.

Loved the tent and the property. Safari West was great fun for me, my husband and 14-year-old grandson. The people working there were very personable and fun. Loved our guided tour walk on the wild side. Feeding the animals was terrific. Our safari guide was very intelligent and entertaining. I would encourage everyone to see this place. Beware the overnight sleep is very noisy as the animals make noise all night long. The bathroom is pretty cold but all in all it was a wonderful 2 days.

I absolutely had a great experience at safari west especially when we got to do the safari tour it’s something I won’t ever forget. The staff was awesome super friendly very knowledgeable. The only thing that was a huge disappointment was the food at Savannah cafe for what I paid I expected more the bbq wasn’t great meat was dry and for the price we got a sampler. Other than that everything was awesome!

The cabins/tents are wonderful and fun. There are plenty of animal sounds as you go to sleep. The shower had hot water and the beds were comfortable. The only mobile service available was AT&T. No WiFi at the tents which was good; unplug and relax!

Staff is great. Very accommodating. Very pleasant. Cabins are nice but time of year definitely impacts comfort. Fall is a bit challenging on comfort. Private Safari Tour was top notch. Richard our tour guide could not have been better. Safari dinner was very good. All around rate it a “9” experience. But just be prepared “when” you stay. Cabins don’t have locks on rooms so that was a bit discomforting but overall staff, food and experience was “as advertised”. Kids would love it. Definitely a bucket list stay and the adjoining town of Calistoga couldn’t have been better for eats especially Calistoga Inn and Evagaline.

Animals of course! The tent was perfect, all the modern amenities! Hot shower, plenty of blankets and pillows. And the food was great!
