HI William, thank you for your sharing your thoughts and experience! we appreciate each review! a bit of a cultural shock huh? jeje.. yes, in Belize we use stoves powered by Butane tanks instead of electrical stoves. please rest assured that the tanks are checked regularly for any leaks ( which rarely ever happens) and for them to have the proper PSI. We do have regular safety check ups, done by health and fire department , and now we personally hire sanitation workers to do a thorough sanitation of the whole building, ever since the pandemic began and we plan to keep it as a regular practice in order for our guests to feel safe and comfortable during their stay. and yes, some owners do need to upgrade their buildings jeje, we see it as keeping the san pedrano culture and you as a tourist are also able to get the Belize San Pedro culture like when the island was just developing and not only the updated tourist attraction, which doesnt fully represent our island. thank you for staying with us, and we hope to see you again!

Hi Mr Barry, we understand how you may feel frustrated about your experience here at Laguna hotel. The hotel has floors that has view of the ocean, however we are not an ocean front hotel, in the description we share that we are one street away from the sea. The beds are double side pillow top matresses, we dont carry sleep number beds, we do apologize if somewhere along the way thats what you understood. As many know, and i hope.u were aware, we are in a pandemic, and we not onky host 1 guest but ee have 10 rooms available that host a number of people in each room, we want to have all our guest feel safe against the pandemic as well as security of their belongings, therefore we dont allow other people besides the guest at the hotel. . We are sorry that you share other views in the security of others as well as yourself. You did stay one night, however yuour reasons expressed to us were never due to the experience but that because you have a prior engagement in the city. Thank you for sharing your views about our hotel, i recommend that in the future you expand your budget for the more upscale hotels that you are requesting and expecting to have , since our hotel is more budget friendly and very comfortable stay/experience. Also, ensure to read descriptions of the places you wish to stay, so you are aware as to where you are staying and it will avoid any other hotels to get a bad review such as this.
