Jorge and family are very gracious hosts. I booked this place partly because I wanted to support family run business. As expected: the lodges are rather rustic: good plumbing - meaning toilet flushed fine, and shower runs, albeit I couldn't figure out how to get hot water out. The knowledge that Jorge and Herman transferred to me made the stay enjoyable: on toucons, on fungi, on bees.
We wonderfully relaxed in this ecolodge. The surroundings are beautiful. You overlook the mountains and from the swimming pool you can see the toucans flying over. Jorge is a super friendly host who is happy to tell you about life in Costa Rica and gives good tips about activities in the area. You can enjoy a delicious meal in the family's restaurant in the village. Thanks for the hospitality Jorge and family!
10/10, hidden gem. Family-owned and operated. Jorge and his parents were a delight. Quiet, beautiful, safe, tons of incredible birds and great views. Pool was a highlight for the kids. Relaxing stay with a delicious breakfast, fresh and full of local flavor. Our only regret was not staying longer!
Everyone was nice, and the grounds were decent. The only problem is that it was 85 F and super humid.
For $100/night this was very expensive for the value for Costa Rica.
We felt in love with this place. Jorge the son of the house is very helpful and he likes to share with his guests, he is an excellent English speaker. We enjoyed the pool (natural spring water) and the view. The breakfast is very traditional and good quality. We thanks to whole family for this experience.
We also had the occasion to have diner at the restaurant runned by the daughter of the family. The meat is home smoked.
Einfache Holzappartements, alles wichtige ist vorhanden, Jorge ist Vogel-und Pflanzenkenner und er informiert gerne, Anfahrt auf Google Map ist ungenau, besser im Restaurant Los Gallitos erkundigen.
