Very convenient

We spent two weeks working at SDSU. Place was very convenient. A few things would improve the property. 1) Motion activated lights on stairs are not all working. 2) Putting a mirror in the bedroom so that occupant can use a mirror - not having to use the bathroom. 3) Better lighting for the couch and table in living room. 4) Pads for dining chairs - they are very uncomfortable. Mostly sat and ate on the couch. 5) better instructions for the lights and minisplits - the controls are not independent for the different rooms.

Perfect location, views, and accommodations

This wonderful rental was in a great location near trails, downtown, restaurants, and more with AMAZING views to downtown/Coronado. Norm (host) was responsive and helpful. We will be back!

Unpleasant experience

Our first trip to San Diego left much to be desired. It was 80+ degrees each day we were there. Unfortunately, the house did not have A/C, which A/C was listed in the posting for the house. The house had individual tower fans in each room. This in no way cooled the house, which lead to very uncomfortable nights trying to sleep. I contacted the owner on the first day about the A/C concern. He assured me that the breeze at night would cool the house down & to let him know the following day if it was not satisfactory. I texted the owner the 2nd day at 11am asking for his portable A/C unit, which he said he had & didn't mind to bring up the 1st day that we talked. The owner assured me he would have something on the 2nd day. However, when we got home at 9pm, the house was very stuffy & the A/C had not been dropped off. My biggest issue was that the owner made a commitment that he did not honor not to mention the listing says the house has A/C, which it does not. There were a few other minor issues, but not worth going into. The house is in a very nice neighborhood & the check in process was painless.

We stayed in June and returned in July. Quiet neighborhood with easy access to I-8. Norm and Alicia are wonderful hosts! Very responsive. Will stay again!

Great Spot

Great location, easy to get to, near freeway. We were in town celebrating a graduation. This was only 10 minutes from campus. The place was clean and had everything we needed. We would recommend to everyone reading this- Book it! We will definitely stay here again.

perfect two bedroom

Having two bedrooms was perfect for me and my adult son. The neighborhood is excellent and close to everything we wanted to see. Kitchen had all the dishes and cooking stuff needed. Very relaxing.

Good location and nice view

Very clean and what we needed. Stayed 4 nights. I never completely understood how the fans+lights worked and mentioned this to the owner. A few fans needed light replacements I think. This was a fairly minor thing though.

Great space with great views. Easy access to SDSU

We stayed here during graduation weekend at SDSU. The space is very comfortable for my wife, son and I. It was very easy to get to my daughter on campus. The space is modern and clean with new kitchen, bath and laundry. Highly recommend!

quiet and convenient

This property is an excellent location for access to this residential area of San Diego. It met our needs perfectly. It is an older construction, like so much of San Diego, but the interior is comfortable and very usable for 2-3 people. There are two bedrooms, with a Jack/Jill bathroom. We were there in March 2022, and some of the nights were cold, but the owner provides portable room heaters that worked well. The TV and wifi functioned perfectly, although there was one interruption of the wifi, probably weather related, and the very attentive owner promptly corrected the issue. The property is an added location adjacent to the owner's home. There is a private entrance, but access is via a somewhat steep single flight of stairs, so arriving with heavier luggage is a minor difficulty. Some of the plumbing in the bathroom and kitchen could use some updating, but overall functioned adequately. There is an excellent walk-in tile shower in the bathroom, no bathtub. The fridge, microwave and toaster oven were more than adequate for a short-term stay. Parking is on the street, but it is a low traffic area, so there was never any problem. Overall the convenience of the location outweighs any of the minor issues, and is recommended if access to this part of San Diego is important to you.

Beautiful Location with Excellent Hosts

This is a lovely property set into a hill with a great view! Close to the University of San Diego and highways which make downtown, the beaches, and La Jolla easily accessible. One caution, there are a number of stairs to access the property but if that's not a problem, the stairs are worth the views. The property is clean and well-appointed and the hosts are very nice and responsive. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in the area. Thanks Norm and Alicia!

Lovely location, very helpful and kind host

This unit has a wonderful location, in a very beautiful setting. The elevator is not available for this unit, and the staircase is potentially challenging for anyone with mobility limitations. Control of the ceiling lights is unusual but works fine once understood, if wall switches are then left unchanged. The host is very kind and helpful, and overall the unit's advantages far outweigh any drawbacks.

Great location and beautiful view!

Norm and Alicia are wonderful hosts. The property was lovely, with easy private access. Two bedrooms with a jack and jill bath made it very comfortable for my family. It's very close to SDSU and with our daughter attending school there, we will plan on staying here again!

Fantastic spot

Really, a perfect vacation property. Two very comfortable bedrooms, amble dining and hanging out space, extremely well appointed kitchen, very private and quiet. Norm, the host, is super friendly and accommodating. The pictures, in my opinion, do not do the unit justice. The rental is located in front of a large main house, and is totally private and has its own entrance. The neighborhood is an upscale neighborhood, with beautiful hilltop views. It is close enough to the 8 freeway to make anywhere you would want to go in central San Diego an easy trip. I highly recommend! Only note: there is a steep set of stairs to access the unit, which wasn't a problem or deterrent for us, but something that may be a consideration for some travelers. Thank you so much, Norm!
