good place to stay.
have stayed a few times, always a good stay .only downside this time was I had interior room, no windows...like a dungeon except for that as usual the hotel never disappoints. staff wonderful, friendly and polite, breakfast 100% perfect...lobby bar area very nice and comfortable...

Great place to stay. An oasis in Samarinda !
the room was perfect.. clean comfortable and even hot water worked perfect…many hotels have no hot water but this was great . the restaurant for Breakfast was beyond perfect. Great great selection ! they even poured my tea and brought more when i was out. the dinner menu was extensive and food was excellent ! Service and friendliness of restaurant staff as well as ALL STAFF was EXCELLENT.

Please improve Wifi Connection
In general, staying at this hotel is fine and good for value too. B-fast set was great. Only one condition needs to improve, message to hotel manager, they need to improve wifi connection speed. As known, Samarinda network is bad, I am using Telkomsel. O have been years traveling to East Kalimantan, don't why Samarinda has bad 4G connection till today if I compare with Balikpapan. I would say, I was depending on wifi hotel to get access to the internet. An unstable wifi connection was another inconvenience condition for my stay.

Old hotel and need renovation
This hotel is a bit old and need renovation. Breakfast is not variety but the service is quite good for check in. I don’t like the beds because it is not good anymore.

Sewaktu check in reservasi tidak tercatat termasuk breakfast dan butuh waktu untuk memastikan reservasi saya termasuk breakfast. Listrik di lantai kamar saya mati mulai jam 1 dini hari sampai jam 11 siang, tidak ada inisiatif untuk memindahkan saya ke kamar dengan lantai yang listriknya menyala sampai saya yg menanyakan sendiri. Barang saya ada yang tertinggal sewaktu check out namun tidak ada informasi dari pihak hotel.

Not staying there again
Decent hotel but the service can use a lot of improvement. Also while the room price is reasonable - expect to pay a lot of money on food, minibar, laundry, etc. Final note: there is no dryer and washer even though the hotel description claims to have it.

A Museum Visit
Samarinda is a medium sized city by Indonesian standards. The hotel is one of two business centers. The rooms are below average for what we paid on Hotel.Com. Suggest they lower the price by $20. We traveled to the museum at Tenngarong (18 km away) which is well worth seeing for Indonesian culture.

The Aston is good hotel and conveniently located in the heart of Samarinda. Condition and service is good, but the internet is very poor in room and even the public internet is quite slow.

とても残念でした。先月、隣にある「スイスベル・ボルネオ」へ宿泊しましたが、隣に隣接しているので今回のAstonホテルが見えるのですが、建物外観がきれいに見えたので、今回はAstonを予約して２泊しました。 まず、チックインする際に「マウントビュー」と指定されたほうが良いです。今回フロントにて「16階でpoolが見えて素晴らしい部屋です♪」と紹介された部屋が、なんと・・・建物内部が４層（12階から16階）ほど吹き抜けになっており、12階部分にpoolとスパが設置されていて、16階の部屋からはpoolの半分しか見ることが出来ず、まったく外の様子が見えない空間なんです。昼なのか、夜なのか、も分からない程、外の様子がまったく分かりませんでした。 まったく外が見えない部屋は初めてでしたので、とても圧迫感を感じ、フロントへ部屋チェンジ希望を出しましたが、満室との理由で断られました。 poolビューでは無い部屋は外観が見えるように配置されており、目の前の宿泊者へお願いして、写真を撮らせて頂きましたので、参考にその時の写真を添付します。さらに、サウナが壊れて使用不能になっており、poolの水は交換された形跡が無く、陽も当たらないため、水が冷たくて入れませんでした。スイスベル・ボルネオ同様にジャグジーがSPAに併設されていますが、水が臭くて入れず、地元の方がジャグジーに入りながら煙草を吸い、食事をしていました・・・(；一_一) ホテルの部屋設備ですが、シャワールームが古くて、あまり清潔感を感じられません。寝具は湿気臭いです。Wifiが設置されているとの表記ですが、まったく使えません。フロントにクレームを出して、初めてRANケーブルを持ってきてくれました。RANケーブルコネクターが割れていました。 いったんnetに繋がれば、光同様に高速通信です。朝食はブッフェスタイルですが、質は４０点程（スイスベルは５５点・100点満点中）と感じました。外での食事は、ローカルrestaurantとケンタッキーしか有りませんので、夕食をAston内restaurantで摂りました。中国料理なんですが、良く分かりませんでした。ボルネオ地元料理1番人気のチキンスープも頂きましたが・・・ 気を取り直して、ロビー階のバーへ行きましたが、ワインの種類もほとんど無く、１種類だけあった白ワインをボトルで頼んだところ、お会計が約10,000円でした。それも、フルーツ味のスパークリングワインで、甘くて飲めませんでした・・・ 以上、私の体験を記述しましたが、参考になったでしょうか・・・？
