Caravan in St Helens
Lovely little caravan, perfect for me and my GSD. Two lovely bedrooms at each end beautifully set up. Kitchen had everything you'd need although I had trouble lighting the cooker but that was probably me! My dog loved sitting out on the decking, except when we had the gale winds which sounded as if they were going to lift the roof off!

Lovely little Van in a quiet area
We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2023. Check in was easy and Bryan was on the other end of the phone to answer Q’s prior to departing for our trip. Major things for me with a caravan holiday are: comfy, big beds. Black out blinds a good shower and a nice outdoor area. This delivered on all of those. The van is old and traditionally decorated, so if you want high end, this isn’t for you, but we love a caravan break and it was in a lovely quiet location. I actually love the fact the site has nothing on it except an outdoor pool. Would definitely recommend a trip to Tapnell Farm if you have kids - beautiful place with lots for the whole family to do. We also ate at the Spy Glass in Ventnor - typical pub food, but the views are amazing! Thanks for an enjoyable few days. ❤️

Bungalow très cosy sur l’Île de Wight
Le bungalow de Bryan est très confortable et cosy. On s’y sent comme à la maison et on ne manque de rien. Le camping est calme et nous avons particulièrement apprécié la piscine chauffée. Le camping est bien situé pour la découverte de l’île. On peut se rendre en une quinzaine de minutes à Ryde. La plage est également très proche. Vous trouverez un pub sympa et un supermarché ouvert jusqu’à 22h30 en bas de la rue. Bref, nous recommandons!

Lovely caravan
Decided to visit the Isle of Wight again after some 10 or so years and wanted a base to explore the whole island so this holiday home was ideal for us. Reasonable quiet site with a smallish pool which was great for a swim after a hard day's sightseeing ( water was one of the warmest we have come across by the way). The holiday home although one of the oldest on site felt like you were at home and was furnished beautifully. Full of the little things you would not normally expect like table lamps, ornaments and even a fireplace clock. Bryan the owner contacted us after we arrived to make sure we were happy with everything. I would certainly recommend this holiday home to anyone who doesn't want the hustle and bustle of a big holiday park. Thank you so much Debbie & Bryan.

Relaxing and quiet
The chalet was very well stocked with all you need, not only with kitchen things but toys/games for inside and out, dvd's, bbq, outdoor furniture, good quality bedding and towels and loads of extra blankets/ heaters if you need them The interior is slightly old fashioned and showing signs of wear but didn't detract from our enjoyment for a long weekend (it is also quite probably the oldest van on the site!). So nice to sit on the veranda with a cup of tea first thing in the morning, the veranda is on two sides which gave full sun all day. Was disappointed that we couldn't use the pool on one of our days as it is closed on Sundays. Our two pooch's had a great time too! We would be happy to return.

It was exactly what we needed. Nice and quiet, clean, with good facilities and not expensive. I would definitely use the same mobile home again in the future without a doubt. Better than staying in a hotel.

Second visit to St Helens didn’t disappoint!!
The caravan is comfortable and in a lovely position. The resources to help us plan our week were extensive and we explored parts of the Island that we didn’t get to last year. When we return we will definitely return to the same accommodation. Special call out for Bryan Marshall who kept in touch throughout the week and is a fantastic host

Pleaseant property in a seaside village. Close to a local shop and friendly pub. Very quiet area but easy to get to and from the rest of the island. Property had all the amenities we needed and was very comfortable. Bryan and Debs were very welcoming, leaving us a message for when we arrived and made sure we had tea, milk and cookies available on arrival. Already thinking about another holiday.

We loved staying in the caravan. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a wonderful break. The kids were particularly pleased with the onsite playground and swimming pool and the adults were relieved to discover the pool in well heated!

Cosy and well equipped
We spent a lovely week in the van, which had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the note from the owners and the welcome cookies. It would have been great to have known just how well equipped the van is, as there are things we’d have left at home if we’d known, e.g. bath towels, pool toys. The children especially loved the heated pool. We found that The Vine pub (less than 5 min walk) does takeaway coffee so we enjoyed popping down there and returning to drink coffee on the terrace area. It was a great base for exploring the island and we visited Black Gang Chine, Robin Hill and the Needles as well as a few beaches. Duver Beach is a 15 min walk away and great for an evening stroll and some rock pooling at low tide. We didn’t like Sandown Beach and found the lack of a safe crossing on a busy road astounding, however we loved Shanklin Beach and had a brilliant afternoon there when we finally got a hot day! We ate at the Yarbridge Inn in Brading on our last evening and can’t recommend it enough - wonderful food, service and decor. The weather was a bit chilly for much of the week but all in all, a lovely stay, thank you Debbie and Bryan!

The property was very clean and well stocked with all the essential equipment. The site was lovely and clean too with the added benefit of the outdoor heated pool. St. Helens is our favourite place on the island with plenty of lovely places to walk. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely little van
This is a nice static caravan tucked away in a quiet corner of Saint Helens Coastal Resort. It is a perfect location for visiting the many attractions the island has to offer. The van itself has everything you could possibly need and more besides. Everything functioned as it should and the owner Bryan was friendly and approachable. When we ran out of gas for the barbecue he delivered a new gas bottle; fantastic service! The enclosed deck surrounding two sides of the van was fantastic for our little dog, meaning we could leave the caravan door open for him to come and go as he pleased. On the hottest days, it provided us with somewhere to shade from the sun. The storage containers had everything you could possibly want, including beach games, umbrellas etc. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of spare bedding, blankets etc in case of cold weather. The blackout blinds do their job very well indeed! The onsite swimming pool is very close, but the shrubbery surrounding it shelters you from the majority of the noise.. The local primary school is a stone's throw away and at break times the sounds of exuberant children playing were quite loud too, something to be aware of should you visit during term time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Cosy stay in St Helens
Great location with lovely facilities - the heated (actually warm!) pool was a great hit with our children - even in the rain! Great base to explore the island and perfectly warm and cosy when we returned on a wet and windy October day. Everything provided although we could have done with some bath towels so we didnt have to use our swimming towels for showers too but we managed. Will definitely be back to IOW again! Thanks :-)

Clean, functional and excellent attention to detail. Our expectations were exceeded we did not feel like we were staying in a holiday caravan. It was more like staying in a friends holiday home. The location was perfect for us to explore the Island. The cookies on welcome were a nice touch and Bryan was a very attentive host and very approachable.

We arrived at the caravan in heavy rain but that didn’t matter as Bryan and Debbie had left the heating and lights on so it was warm and cosy! The caravan is very homely and welcoming and Bryan and Debbie have thought of everything-they had left milk, tea Bags and biscuits for us which was needed after the journey in the rain! Thank you! They also left a note with relevant info which was good. We explored the local area over our few days-would recommend the Crab and Lobster pub in Bembridge as they do lovely food, good selection of drinks and a nice ambiance. Overall we had a lovely few days and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Could do better
While the caravan was clean and tidy when we arrived, the freezer was full of food and other items: various children's ices; a large bag of ice cubes; a half-used pack of 10 burgers; and a half-used pack of potato slices. There was no space for our own items. Apparently the owners normally leave ices for hirers to have, and their son had been staying and left the other items in case the next hirers would find them useful. I don't know anyone who would want to eat someone else's opened food items. There was no rubbish bin in the kitchen/lounge area, only a recycling bin in a cupboard. We made do with a bin from the en-suite. There were no instructions about what to do with rubbish/recycling. After ringing the owner, we found the compound but discovered that our recycling efforts were wasted, as all bins were just for general rubbish. In today's climate this isn't good enough. The main disappointment was that despite having checked before booking that there was WiFi (the owner informed me he had a 'dongle' because of the poor coverage on the site) in fact if we wanted to get online we would have to go and stand outside the reception building, or visit somewhere with free WiFi. I don't see why I should have to use my phone's costly data allowance, when I had made sure of WiFi availability before booking. My son especially needs coverage a lot of the time for his employment. I was told that a previous hirer must have taken the item but the owner could not get anyone to "fess up". If he knew about the lack, why had he not quickly bought a new one and had it added to his account? Or he could have suggested that I could do this and be re-imbursed. My husband died earlier this year and I had taken his iPad with me, planning to get my son to help me to convert it to my own use, but this was not to be. It was just a big disappointment which soured somewhat the start of our holiday. The Television was virtually unwatchable a lot of the time, with the picture breaking up into tiny pixels, and the sound becoming a mix of crackles and muffled noises. Luckily the weather was good each day so we weren't indoors a lot of the time, but relaxing in the evenings would have been more enjoyable if we'd known we could tune in to our favourite shows. It was a shame that these several niggles detracted from what could have been a really good week.

Hi Cathy, As you can expect I am dissapointed with your review on many levels. Firstly the items in the freezer were whole packets of burgers and potatoes, which were mentioned in our note to you and suggested you threw them away if you did not want them. Lots of owners leave ice in their vans for travellers, especially in the summer for obvious reasons. In any case, it is unusual for static vans to have separate freezers at all! As far as the rubbish was concerned we advised you where the Eurobins were on site and that all the rubbish you have has to go in the bin under the counter. I had the TV checked by an engineer after you left and it was found be in good working. I also rang and asked previous guests and they said they had no problems with it. It's a pity you didn't call me about this so I could have sorted out the problem. Regarding the Dongle. Yes it was unfortunate it had been stolen. I did order a replacement, but unfortunately it came after you left. Bryan Marshall

Excellent and very homely
Wonderful stay. Great location and very clean and tidy accommodation with everything you need including a games cupboard for the children. Really comfy beds and super facilities. Bryan and Debbie kindly helped organise rates for the ferry, left some welcome supplies in the fridge and were always contactable if we needed anything. Laundry room was handy. Pool was lovely and warm every day. Thank you - we’d love to come back.

The caravan is well equipt and comfortable for your i.o.w break;it is also situated away from the other caravans so you can pull in your car and not be disturbed by others;a great place to stay.
