📚The Norwegian language (Norwegian: Norsk), is a North Germanic language of the West Scandinavian branch. Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties, and some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. These Scandinavian languages📖, together with Faroese and Icelandic as well as some extinct languages📕, constitute the North Germanic languages🔖. The Norwegian language consists in two distinct and rival norms↔️: Bokmål or Riksmål, also called Dano-Norwegian and Nynorsk or New Norwegian.

➡️During the 15th century, the old Norwegian writing traditions✍🏻 gradually died out after the union of Norway🇳🇴 with Denmark🇩🇰 and the removal of the central government to Copenhagen. In 1814 Norway achieved the independence but the linguistic union🔄 with Danish persisted. Educational problems due to the linguistic distance between Danish and spoken Norwegian and also to sociopolitical matters, stimulated a search🔎 for a national standard language. Ivar Aasen, a self-taught linguist📚, constructed in 1853 a language norm primarily from the dialects of the western and central rural districts. This standard continued the Old Norwegian tradition and was meant to replace Danish, he called it Landsmål, but now it is officially known as Nynorsk. He presented the New Norwegian norm in a grammar, a dictionary and numerous literary texts📚. Finally, in 1885 the New Norwegian was officially recognised as a second national language.
 👉Today, all Norwegians learn to read and write New Norwegian, but only about 20 percent use it as primary written language✍🏻.

« Great house! The location is within walking distance to shops, grocery store, the fish market, restaurants and lots of exploring. Enough rooms and beds for 7 people to sleep comfortably. Amenities and decor were very nice. Kitchen was spacious enough for multiple people to prepare food. Stairs are pretty steep and narrow so would be difficult for elderly people but no problem for our crew of 20, 40, and 70 year olds. I would stay at this location again. »

« We had a difficult time checking in. It was very complicated since we arrived a bit later than anticipated. Finally they sent someone but this person only spoke Russian so it was difficult to communicate with them but they led us to the place. That was tough. However, we LOVED the place. There was lots of room for the 4 of us. Amazing big kitchen for cooking. Loved the balcony where we spend time when it wasn't raining. Nice sitting area but watch your head on the low beams. " Chambre bien équipée et confortable. Je suis venue plusieurs fois dans cet hôtel qui est plutôt haut de gamme ( excellent buffet du petit déjeuner , personnel très courtois, belles chambres et emplacement géographique à côté du grand hôtel idéal ). Déception cette fois car je me suis vue attribuer une chambre « back of the House « tout au fond d’un couloir, sombre avec vue sur une petite cour par rapport aux dernières fois où nous avions vue sur Karl Johan et plus de lumière. Un peu relégués au fond de l’hôtel et oubliés par la femme de chambre qui n’a pas fait notre chambre ! J’ai été très mécontente de cela ( nous avions pourtant quitté la chambre à 9h et retour 20h, sans laisser un panneau « ne pas déranger » donc aucune raison valable de ne pas faire le ménage ). Je leur ai signalé et ils vont probablement en tenir compte."
