i want to start with i expect push back from management and that i have NEVER left a bad review, not here or anywhere (yelp, airbnb, or any other website) not only was the listing incorrect, the tree from over a month ago is still there. there were bugs in our bed, an unlatchable window, an active wasps nest, stained couches, broken swing on porch, bugs coming in through gaps, missing smoke detector, and about a million things more. if i could give negative stars i would.when messaging the property managers, it took 12 hours to hear back. absolutely miserable.i wish i could explain how awful our stay was. there are 3 rooms, not 2. 2 queen 1 full, and none of the rooms have full privacy due to missing window curtain panels. upstairs has awful circulation. basement is an absolute no (while the washer and dryer is down there it is disgusting and incredibly hard to access). stairs are broken, and there are many bugs. you can tell there is no attention to detail or care for the property being clean. they ask for you to clean essentially everything except the bedding before you leave (so i doubt they clean on their own). house has a broken window that can be opened from the inside or outside while locked. management is hard to get in touch with and not personable at all. lots of automated responses.i can only add 8 photos, but here is an overview.

Poor condition and unreasonable host

When we checked in to the property there was a rank smell of old sweat. Cleaning was not done properly as several places were still dirty, floors and tabletops were sticky, and the condition of the property did not match the pictures. We checked out immediately and contacted the host who informed us they would send someone to clean the following day. However, they completely disagreed with the condition of the property even though we shared the pictures added here. To us it seemed fairly clear that this place was once renovated and pictures taken, and then it’s been heavily used, perhaps for parties and similar. I find it hard to believe any family would be comfortable staying there in the condition it’s currently in, and I highly doubt that smell would be easily removed. The sofas had been covered with old blue bedsheets. I didn’t lift these to see the condition of the sofas. The fact that they just covered them in sheets says it all. All in all the host refunded our cleaning fee, the deposit and one night of six booked and claimed we were not entitled to any other refund or compensation so this whole experience was not only horrible but also unreasonably expensive. I strongly warn families and others who appreciate a clean place to stay at and which matches the pictures from staying at this place. And the host Traverse obviously don’t care about their guests or the condition of their property.

Zero Stars Not An Option

I will start by stating I expect retaliation on my review from property managers. While the house was very cute and accommodated my family, the amenities were not as listed. No television in the main living area, found a television or at least we believe that is what it was in basement, but no seating area or remote. No cleaning supplies such as dish rags, cleaning solution, broom, etc.One working lightbulb in fixture upstairs, light bulbs missing.No bath mat in tub which made for a slippery shower experience. No wash cloths in bathroom, nor anywhere in the house. Only 4 so called bath towels.No extra blankets in house, no dishwasher detergent.Cobwebs in bathroom window, some type of black animal hair everywhere.Outside trash receptacle full upon our arrival, tree branch (entire branch) on walkway from parking area leading to front door.Missing curtain in front bedroom. Only way to communicate is via app and response takes hours, then asked to send photos.Requesting to send a selfie holding your license did not sit well with me.Broken chain for light in ceiling fan in back bedroom.Freezer does not make ice, so be sure to bring some if you use it.I don’t believe the home is owned by local people.I’m sure I am forgetting something.When I pay for a service, I expect to receive my money’s worth.I have NEVER left a poor review before now.

Charmer in Westport

This cute old home has all the basic essentials- location, comfortable beds, and a nicely renovated bathroom. Host was clear with their expectations and the check in/out was very easy. The primary reason for not giving 5 stars is due the lack of attention to detail that could take this property to the next level. There were missing curtain panels on some windows in the bedrooms, making some level of exposure while sleeping/dressing inevitable. The furnishings are all very cheap- you have what you need, but it’s not a place you’d want to sit and lounge for a couple of days. The porch swing was broken, and there’s a fallen tree in the walkway from the back of the property to the front. All small details that won’t ruin a trip, but the home needs a little more attention and TLC to truly shine to its full potential!

Wedding weekend

The house was clean. There was a problem with mice in the kitchen and mouse poop đŸ’© On the counter tops. No WiFi password, the TV was not hooked up to any service and no remote to Tv .missing light bulbs so couldn't turn on certain lights. No heat upstair. All of this was communicated to the owner and no no reply from the owner.

There wasnt any Comunication the hard copy of the house rules were not present we did a walk throigh first thing just to know where everything is and found filthy trash left beind from previous stays in a cabnit dirty socks under a bed and the television remote for the living room was gone i was planing to have a movie night with the kids and we couldnt even watch netflix. So all in all not my best experience Ive had. But I guess it could have been worse
