Cute and affordable
The highlight of this place is obviously that it is affordable and allows pets. The downside is that because it is not that frequently booked the air inside gets a little stale, but this is pretty easily solved by opening the windows. We came up for the 4th of July weekend with the original intent of getting our dog out of the city to avoid fireworks... if this is you, this is not the place to be. However! If you love fireworks the locals go truly bananas with them. The assortment that was on display at the lake was truly stupendous. I was initially pretty worried about the no AC situation, being from the city, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. (I am mentioning this because I read the reviews to see if anyone had said if it was hot inside.) It was as high as the mid 80s some days but still got into the low 60s or even 50s(!!) overnight, plus the bedrooms have ceiling fans (which wasn't listed but is a huge plus) so we were never hot inside the house. Deck is great, but it is in the woods so bring bug spray. Also, Roscoe is a tiny tiiiiiiny town so definitely shop on your way up, and don't be an idiot like me: screenshot the lock box code BEFORE you get into the mountains because there is not cell service. (This may be obvious to you already.)Anyway, overall a good place to stay in the area.
