Terrible check-in experience. I didn’t receive an SMS to my international number with pin to open the main door. It took about an hour to receive that information from the property by email after numerous calls to Expedia support, Expedia did a great job and even found for me an alternative hotel because the agent was unable to reach out to the property manager while was calling to all available numbers and sending the emails. The contact number that I found close to the self-check-in screen was switched off. The brand new room was perfectly clean and comfortable for a one night stay. The property is located next to the gas station and it’s about 15-20 min from the train station. The hotel was pretty expensive and it wasn’t worth it considering the location and lake of customer support onsite or at least a help line available after 8pm.

The room was a little small, no place for luggage, we were lucky that our room was in front of the common area so we sit over there, room is very modern bathroom was excellent

Overpriced, dystopian, and unsafe
It should be priced like a hostel. Instead for one night we paid $ 270.00. The “hotel” is situated on the third floor of a sad shopping mall outside town next to a large gas station and an RV and bus storage. Too far from the train station to walk. Our room was small and lacked most of the basic amenities one expects from a hotel. No desk, no luggage rack, no kettle no coffee machine. It is advertised with AC, but there are no controls in the rooms. Fortunately we could open a window, but then we heard engines revving up all night. The TV does not have apps or Chrome-cast and the only channels are in Norwegian. In a new brand new place? No way to make coffee or tea. The coffee machine is in the common room, and we were supposed to find pods for it in the room but there were none. For coffee one must go to the gas station next door. What else would one expect? A decent shower and a good bed. Well, the shower drain was not working properly so to avoid a flood we had to shower with a trickle, and the bed was the cheapest and most uncomfortable we ever experienced in a Scandinavian country. So soft that it was hard to turn. The place is not staffed at all and so there is no security. At night I went into the common room looking for at least a kettle, and found a guy sitting there that gave me a weird vibe. I went back in the morning and he was still there asleep on the sofa. If you want to pay to sleep with the homeless this is the place for you.

Great room but company needs to redo the un-staffed checkin process. Once you check in at a a screen on site, there’s no way to recheck for your room number or get them to resend the door code if you didn’t receive it. No phone number is provided, just a small print email address on a nearby mailbox.

Urusel sovkomfort.
Rummet ok. Men sängarna är bedrövliga, madrasserna i våningssängen är förtvina så sängen är mycket hår att sova på. Dubbelsängen är istället för mjuk, man sjunker ner och ligger i en grop. Det positiva var att badrummet var fräscht samt att det fanns ett långt geggigt skohorn i metall på rummet.

Hotel Geist is completely new, very modern and comfortable. Views are amazing. Though the hotel does not have a reception, we met an owner and he helped us explaining how it all works. All rooms are opened with the code, rather than a key, hence check in advance that you received instructions from the hotel (!). The owner was very nice and friendly to find our reservation and show us the room and the code from the doors. He also holds a restaurant below with nice food and fantastic views. We really enjoyed our stay there!
