I received a 2 dollar charge for unknown reasons. I was not aware of having taken or used anything that cost extra, so those things need to be more clear.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was delayed by an hour which was very inconvenient but they did upgrade our room in response. Only one elevator to our floor was working and was shared with housekeeping and maintenance. Leak around faucet caused water on the bathroom floor. Great location and bar.

As someone who stayed here with the majority of a wedding party this past weekend, semi ridiculous only a single elevator to the higher floor rooms was in operation the entire stay. Often you'd wait 10 minutes only for it to be completely full or packed with the custodial staff/laundry. I had staff tell me to take the stairs from the 8th floor. Starting first thing Saturday morning (had to be 8am or so) there was a charity event held outside to which people were rappelling down the side of the building from the roof. The noise from the DJ was one thing but to have people effectively looking directly into your windows, not to mention bathroom, the entirety of the day is such an invasion of privacy. I can't believe this was approved and that absolutely no notice was delivered this event was taking place to guests. Obviously we all wouldn't stayed elsewhere had we known.

We always love to stay 21C in Durham. The only thing that is a bit of task...is parking. We always chose to park our own car in a nearby Parking Deck that is free on the weekends. The lighting in the room we recently stayed in was very dark. I couldn't see anything in the bathroom or entry. That needs to be improved! The rooms have always been super clean in the past, yet this visit the room was a bit dusty and you could tell that all the surfaces had not been thoroughly cleaned. There was also a puddle of 'water' outside our door in the hallway upon returning to the room one night. We have no idea where it came from...and we mopped it up and it reappeared, so we contacted the front desk.

I liked the museum and artwork. The facility seemed dated and only one elevator was working. The valet/luggage person was really nice and helpful. Didn’t like that I checked in late and my room still wasn’t ready even though it had been pre booked and paid weeks in advance!

Firstly, not a four star hotel. So did not meet expectations of a 4 star hotel. Rooms are too small/layout Poor lighting in room No fridge We were inconvenienced on check-out day due to a unmaintained elevator. Had to console my daughter and had to cancel plans due to this. I have yet to receive the comp and/or the email that was promised from the manager we spoke to

This is such a special and unique hotel. The art gallery was incredible and the safe in the basement was so cool! It was walkable to everything. The valets especially were very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay here again and check out their other hotels.

The hotel itself is amazing it doubles as a museum that is open 24 hours! But my only issue was the front desk staff. When checkin in I was not offered any information about the hotel or any activities in any way, I literally was handed my key and said here! I was listening to the check in of the people next to me they were given all offerings like a bourbon tasting, they were told about the restaurant and the museum while I, as a woman of color, was basically told to get out of the vestibule in so many words! I was trying not to take it personal but when I went back to the floor and saw the same excellence for a person of another race but not me, then I realized it was intentional! Also I requested a bucket of ice and I was given a plastic bag filled with ice as if I needed it to ice my knee! At a hotel that is supposed to luxurious, these details matter! The facilities team were amazing as well as the restaurant staff on the weekend! Ayana at the front desk of the restaurant is absolutely incredible! The weekend menu is more robust than during the week! Try the heirloom grits! Your mouth will thank me later! All in all a 7.5/10.

This place is so cool! The room is fabulous! The art is an adventure in the building but makes the place look cool wherever you go. The location is center of downtown. The restraunt downstairs is reasonable for a moderate to upscale steakhouse. They had other amenities but i didn't get the chance to check them out. I look forward to going back someday!

The concept is good but the level of service is lacking. We specifically requested for our room to be cleaned, and we returned at 9pm to find it was not touched and the cleaning crew had left for the day. The valet was hard to connect with for parking. Also, not having room service was inconvenient, and there was no minibar available in the room. For the price, I think we should have stayed at the Unscripted instead. Again, love the art concept, but the service and convenience needs to be better.

The dinning was full but the bar was empty when we walked in and several others came after us and were helped. We waited 20 min for service and decided to give up so we went elsewhere for drinks and something to eat.

coffee pods but no machine in room, called to get one, said they would bring it. No free coffee in restaurant except on weekends, weird. Checked 2 hours later, "oh, sorry, we asked but we don't have another." Many staff are nice, but overall the hotel has gone significantly downhill past few years.

Only problem was I had a “luxury “ king suite…. No fridge, and was woke up all night by the elevator… other than that excellent hotel ! Would stay again but parking was a nightmare and the elevator problem

The art was very good, the people were great. The bed was not so great. The mattress pad was way too small for the king bed and made lines and ridges. (Rm 316). Bathroom was great. And it is walkable to many restaurants and DPAC, too.

It was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom shower had good water pressure! The staff was friendly and helpful.
