Family friendly gite in Quillan, the beating heart of Cathar country

The house is extremely well equipped, with comfortable, high quality furniture and new appliances. There is a range cooker, American fridge freezer with water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine, toaster, kettle and every utensil, pot and pan you can possibly think of! We supply a vacuum cleaner, clothes iron, mop/bucket, dust pan and brush, clothes drying racks etc...

The courtyard/garden is accessed via the 1st floor and also from the front of the house. It is completely private and secure, with white washed walls, beautiful wisteria plants, washing lines, large table and 4 chairs. Rain water collector, herb garden, large wooden shed for storage.

Quillan is situated on the banks of the river Aude and white water activities take place through the town. In Quillan, there are various restaurants, cafés, bars and shops and festivals throughout the year. There are numerous beautiful walks near the house and horse riding, cycling, white water sports, châteaux and mountains only 10 minutes drive from Quillan. You can ski 35 minutes from the house in the winter and swim in lakes nearby during the summer. Carcassonne's medieval cite is definitely worth a visit (60 minutes drive), Toulouse (the pink city) is 90 minutes drive away and the very Catalan Perpignan is 60 minutes away (and very close to the Mediterranean beaches)!
Opened in mid-2017 are the two artificial lakes for swimming and fishing five minutes drive north of the house.
