Historic Stone Cottage - Alley Apartment with spa

Do you want to have a memorable stay in the Historic Stonehouse on Queenstown Hill. A beautifully presented 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment within a 5 min walk to downtown Queenstown.

The Historic Stone House was built in 1874 for the Mayor of Queenstown, Thomas Betts. Beautifully preserved, this heritage building features three boutique apartments that can be rented separately or all together and are just a short two-minute walk from the centre of Queenstown.

The apartment has a large open plan living space with fully equipped kitchen and has a sofa bed that can sleep two extra people - perfect for a family group. The master bedroom is spacious with plenty of storage and there is a cute patio area with mountain views out towards the Skyline Gondola.

This property is managed by Divine Property Management and we are available on call between 8am and 9pm during your stay for any issues. Otherwise you will be given complete privacy during your stay.

The Historic Stonehouse is located is a residential area a stones throw from downtown. Walk to all the local attractions that Queenstown has to offer - restaurants, bars, and tourism activities and transport.

There is on street parking only, however the house is very close to downtown so a vehicle is not required to enjoy all that Queenstown has to offer.

- There is a 4 bedroom house in front of the apartment (lower ground level). If booked, they have shared access to the laundry and spa pool area.
- The spa is checked and serviced after each guest stay
- There are about 20 stairs to access the property
- Carparking is on street - but please check 48 hours prior to your checkin and we will check availability (please note onsite carparking is not guranteed, however there is public on street parking across the road)

Lovely apartment close to city center

We loved the Alley apartment. It was spacious, light, and clean. The bed is huge and comfortable. While it's not a long walk to the central business district, be aware that it's hilly and there's some road construction that requires detours.

Great central location to downtown Queenstown!

If you are looking for a property within walking distance to all your excursions, restaurants and the shops in downtown Queenstown, this is your place. It had everything we needed for our 10 night say. The king size bed was very comfortable and the hotel sheets made it even better. Our unit did not have parking, which due to all the construction in the area was a challenge. Make sure and understand all the street parking restrictions as the do enforce the parking and tickets are issued frequently.

Enjoyed the Stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay. There were some discrepancies with the listing that the property management team resolved after my follow up. The place was clean and well kept. Only issues were that the street parking was a bit challenging to find and the apartment is behind the main house, which resulted in a couple awkward moments where our gaze met the people staying in the main residence as we walked to the apartment entryway.

Good location but missing a few things

Quaint place, good location and views however that’s kind of where it stops. The bed is two singles pushed together so you’ll sink in the middle making it very uncomfortable. The bedding is also very interesting, the doona/duvet is a bare doona/duvet with two sheets either side so not very hygienic as you’ll end up touching the doona/duvet itself. Pillows are terrible and thin and the pillow cases don’t even fit. Kmart is down the road, no idea why you wouldn’t buy a cheap bedding set for the property? The stove top had only one burner working and the hot water for the shower was lukewarm at best. Despite what the listing says, there is no parking for the apartment, street parking is very limited. You have to park at least 5-10 min walk away
and up hill! There are far better places to stay in Queenstown for the same price, we unfortunately won’t be returning to this accommodation.

Fantastic location with everything we needed for a family of four, with two under the age of 7. House was very clean and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great but it did ensure we didn’t run out of hot water. All in all a great place that we’d rent again.
