This was a destination wedding for us and our immediate family. We’ve stayed in PV several times and love the area but we’re new to Boca.
Reviews are really important to me and there were none when I booked this house so I’m leaving a long one! First off, 5 stars. This place is luxurious and the pictures do not give proper appreciation to how big and gorgeous it is. We rented all 9 rooms, (more like suites or efficiency apartments) which provided privacy and space from each other. Each room had an incredible view. 3 of the 9 rooms are separate from the main house and require stairs. But they were lovely and private with their own kitchens. The grounds were immaculate and the staff was wonderful. We hired the chef that Francisco recommended and our only regret was that we didn’t have them cook every meal.
Things to note:
1. There are lots of stairs. There is an elevator but you still need to climb up and down a few to access certain areas of the property. 2. Everything is marble, the floors were rough on our feet and joints (even for the younger bunch). I recommend bringing good shoes to walk around the house in. 3. I’m happy we didn’t bring young children. Between the stairs and balconies, pools and all the amazing artwork, I would recommend adults only. 4. Bring noise cancellation head phones. The town has a population of dogs (All we met very friendly) but they howl and fight at night. The roosters also start VERY early and are non stop!
My husband and I and several others with us have traveled a lot, but this was unanimously voted the best vacation ever. The taxi from the airport was about 45 minutes. There is no one trying to sell you stuff like like in down town PV where you are constantly hassled. There aren’t many places to eat. A small place on the beach in town and another restaurant outside of town, about a 5 minute walk. We went to Costco when we arrived and loaded up on snacks, coffee and booze. The chef handled the rest. A group of us took the bus to the Botanical Gardens which was only a 10 minute ride. It was gorgeous. Others of us went fishing and whale watching in the town below. We went on strolls and hikes and felt very safe at all times. The local people were lovely. The town itself is small with a grocery and liquor store, a few shops. If you want to shop or experience night life, you’ll have to go back into town.
A special thanks again to the staff and chefs. Francisco, we hope to visit again very soon!
