Hôtel très sympa
À proximité des attractions , hôtel très confortable, sympa , et super si vous avez une fibre maritime sympa. Par contre resto pas terrible mais on est en Angleterre, c est général. Terrasses, bar . Hôtel très sympa.

Excellent hôtel. Restaurant pas au top.
Hôtel impeccable, mais le restaurant a besoin de changer de chef. Hummus "aux chataignes" fade et sans saveur. Filet de poisson aux câpres beaucoup trop assaisonné, trop citronné et présenté avec la peau sur le dessus recouvert de sauce. Légumes au goût de brulé.

We have been very pleased with the Royal Maritime hotel. The place is relatively basic but spotlessly clean and well maintained. The food is good and has a varied menu. The location is ideal for our trips into the historic navy dockyard, just a few minutes walk & a short walk from the train station. We would happily stay here again.

While the frontage did not look too promising, this turned it to be a really neat, clean and tidy, comfortable, and above all well staffed hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Open the bar when a group of us came back in very late at night? No problem. Can we all sit together at breakfast? Opened an entire side room for us and rearranged the tables. Extra key card… parking permit…smooth check in: all done in a flash. Very lovely, polite and obliging staff, well done, made the stay a pleasure.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a cozy pub for lunch and drinks and a nice restaurant for a traditional English breakfast and a delicious selection for dinner. The location was perfect and walkable to all the sights of the Dockland of Portsmouth and the outlet shops in the Spinnaker complex.

Adam on receptionist made me feel welcome as did Amy in the restaurant. Enjoyed fact that the hotel had a library. Room was clean and i had a good nights sleep. No noise. The only drawback is the limited parking I had to park in the Multi storey carpark -which was opposite the Hotel and to be fair the Hotel provided a discount on the parking fee. I would definitely stay there again

Having arrived at the hotel I booked in and made my way through the long corridor to my room. I noticed a very heavy strange atmosphere as I did so and on speaking to hotel staff there.I was advised that the hotel was haunted and strange things occurred, this was not what I wanted to hear On entering the room I found it to be acceptable but not the cleanest place I've stayed but the bed was comfortable. I later spoke to the hotel receptionist who asked how my room was. I told him the room had a heavy atmosphere and then he asked if I got the impression someone had died there ? As a result I didn't sleep all night and had a headache by morning. I did try to change rooms but nothing was available. So never again at The Royal Maritime Hotel Portsmouth

The location of the property is good, excellent bus and train services very near. Portsmouth historic dockyard almost opposite. Lots of shops and restaurants 10 minutes walk away. Around the back of the hotel (view from my window) is slightly poorer. Communal areas nice, breakfast experience good, check in and check out were fine. The only negative was the bedroom itself, very depressing, needing some TLC, lots of general noise from other rooms nearby, uncomfortable pillows. However, the be fair I did only book a basic room so you get what you pay for.

Very comfy and quiet rooms, well equipped. Friendly staff and a real rarity, a guest laundry which was really appreciated on my multi-week trip. Very grand and pleasant place to stay, I would definitely stay here again if I return to Portsmouth.

Hidden gem of a hotel
Really fab hotel looks a bit shabby on the outside but inside the lobby is amazing with a domed roof with colonnades. Some of the nicest & friendly staff I think I’ve ever met who really seemed to enjoy there jobs. Breakfasts were excellent really nice produce and well cooked and plenty of it. My room was ok the decor and furniture were showing there age but the room was clean and spacious with good amenities (kettle, tea, coffee, etc) and piping hot water. The hotel is also only a short walk from (5 minutes) to the naval museum where they have the Mary Rose & 10 minuets walk to the spinnaker tower and Queyside outlet mall and the ferry, bus, and train terminals so is a great base to explore from. Would definitely stay here again

Excellent hotel
This hotel is really good for us, excellent location for historic dockyard and gun wharf quay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious with lots hot water and plenty of cupboard space. The bar and restaurant are both very good, meals are generous size and good breakfast. There is limited parking but when we have stayed there was always a parking space. Would recommend - this is a super place to stay

It's location is absolutely brilliant. Short walk to docks, shops and city centre. Shame the pool wasn't open but overall really great hotel. And the staff were extremely helpful and polite.

Good stay
The hotel was conveniently located. Everything was very clean, and so pretty happy with the stay. What was outstanding though was the superb customer service from the reception staff, both on arrival and as we left. In particular, Sarah on reception was a delight.
