« I was very disappointed with accom; no early breakfast no reception no early arrival before 5pm very strong odour in v small bedroom no early morning call service to call it 4 star is an exaggeration it was a pub that did basic rooms full stop no more no less »

« For the very reasonable price we paid we can't complain! A good stopover for 1 night, but I wouldn't choose to stay for more than that. Parking was a big bonus. Bedding and towels were clean, but the room and pub itself could do with a good clean. »

However the room we were in (an upgraded room) was over the kitchen and every morning at 7am something started up and all we could hear was the hum of it which is annoying when you would like a lie in. We ate both nights in the pub. The food is good but very pricey. On our 2nd night we both had a special which was gammon, 1egg, chips, pinapple and piccalily. « Nous avons apprécié notre bref séjour dans cet endroit située en plein cœur de la New Forest. Endroit typique avec possibilité de voir des chevaux. Restaurant avec des plats de qualité pour le dîner du soir. Un petit déjeuner anglais et délicieux nous a été servi. Bien qu'en rénovation l'établissement est une belle bâtisse avec un grand parking. Le personnel est professionnel et accueillant. Je recommande cet établissement. »

« I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over. »
