Even the sun-trap garden offers a secluded space to recline in the loungers or unwind in your own private hot tub making Poppy the perfect romantic escape for two.

The space

Candlelit Lounge & Dining Space:

Step inside Poppy Cottage and into a beautifully intimate open dining and lounge space, rich with character and warmth. Once a traditional barn, the low ceilings and softly lit interiors create a snug, cocooning atmosphere that instantly encourages you to slow down. A charming dining table seats up to four, while the cosy lounge sits just to the side — windowless by design, making it wonderfully secluded and perfect for long, candlelit evenings.
Sink into the inviting sofa, which converts into a comfortable double sofa bed, light the open fire and settle in for quiet nights together in front of the Smart TV. This is a space made for closeness, conversation and unhurried time.

Kitchen & Breakfast Nook:

Tucked to the rear of the cottage, the kitchen opens through French doors onto the private garden, allowing soft daylight to spill in. A delightful breakfast bar sits in the window — the perfect spot for two to linger over morning coffee, watching the world wake up outside.

Fully Equipped Contemporary Kitchen:

The sleek, modern kitchen is fully fitted with high-quality integrated appliances, including a fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Thoughtfully stocked with premium cookware, crockery and glassware, it’s equally suited to slow breakfasts, indulgent suppers and celebratory meals for special occasions.

Romantic Principal Bedroom & Spa-Style Bathroom:

The luxurious bedroom is a true sanctuary. With a vaulted ceiling, dedicated dressing area and an indulgent private bathroom, it offers both space and serenity. Configurable as a super king or twin, the bedroom invites rest and relaxation at the end of each day.

The en-suite bathroom is designed for indulgence, featuring a freestanding roll-top bath, a generous corner shower and a large vanity unit — the perfect place to unwind, soak and savour quiet moments together.

Private Garden & Hot Tub Under the Stars:

Outside, Poppy Cottage enjoys its own exclusive hardstanding garden, ideal for relaxed afternoons and intimate evenings outdoors. Dine al fresco, stretch out on loungers, or fire up the BBQ as the sun sets.
The standout feature is the luxurious square hot tub, beautifully illuminated by festoon lighting and designed for lingering under the night sky. Slip into the warm water, glass in hand, and let the countryside fall silent around you — an unforgettable setting for romance.

THE BARN – A Shared Space for Celebration & Connection:

Opening in late 2026, The Barn will become the social heart of the retreat — a striking, character-filled space designed for gathering, celebrating and creating unforgettable memories.

Beautifully rustic in design, the interior will be fully clad in sawn timber, creating warmth, texture and an authentic barn atmosphere. The natural wood finishes will give the space depth and richness, while its generous proportions ensure it feels both impressive and welcoming.

At its centre, guests will find a stylish bar, a spacious catering kitchen and a vast open main area complete with a large projector. Whether hosting a long, laughter-filled banquet, a milestone birthday, a lively disco evening, a cosy movie marathon or watching the cup final together, The Barn will adapt effortlessly to every occasion.

With seating for all 46 guests, the entire site can come together under one roof before retreating to the comfort and tranquillity of individual cottages at the end of the evening.

Available for exclusive guest hire, The Barn is designed to be as seamless as it is atmospheric. For those who prefer to relax and enjoy the celebration, outside caterers and bar services will be welcomed — allowing events to feel effortless, indulgent and beautifully hosted.

Outdoor Communal Areas:

Guests can enjoy a range of thoughtfully provided facilities located across the wider site. A charming communal library offers a quiet corner to borrow a book and pause awhile, while practical amenities include a hot and cold dog and cycle wash, a secure cycle store and overflow parking. Two on-site EV chargers provide convenient charging for electric vehicles. The central courtyard is thoughtfully divided into three separate fenced garden areas for the dog-friendly cottages, allowing guests travelling with dogs to enjoy their own secure outdoor space while still retaining the character of the shared courtyard setting.
