Snowmobiling around Pickerel Wisconsin.
We had a great time. The trails were great all weekend! It was a cold start with below zero temps but Saturday was nice around 20 degrees. The cabin was clean. They had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. It would be nice if there was a good access area to get on/off the lake with the snowmobiles but we made the best of the one spot we could find to get on/off the lake. It was a fun weekend for all of us.

Snowmobiling weekend on Pickerel Lake.
The house was clean and had adequate amenities. You have to back the trucks and trailers down the driveway which is certainly not ideal! The house is advertised as a 3 bedroom, 4 beds which can sleep 9. There are only 2 bedrooms and 3 beds! That was a problem for us. The TV is upstairs and in a very small room where the 5 of us could not watch the TV so we went to a bar to watch the football game. A more accurate description of this property will be greatly appreciated by future renters I am sure. Everything else was fine.

Great cabin getaway!
Great cabin, enough room for my family of 4, had all the amenities you’d need. The pontoon was AMAZING to have included with the cabin stay. Place is a quiet spot on the lake, which was nice. Overall great experience and we will definitely stay again!

Secluded and spacious
Absolutley beautiful rental with LOTS of space. Decor was adorable. Pontoon was a HUGE plus! Plenty of room inside and out. Strongly recommend to others with families with variety in ages or a secluded adult getaway location. Property managers were always available via text, email, or phone for any questions and were EXTREMELY helpful when storms took out our power by setting us up with a generator.

Gorgeous, completely remodeled cottage!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was recently updated to include top-of-the-line appliances, fully stocked cookware, silverware, paper towels, you name it! The owner, Dan was very responsive to our questions. At one point, he even called me back! We were able to catch fish, and Eagle landed on the property, they were otters, loons and plenty of boardgames when it rained! The property is literally right on the water and the sunsets were gorgeous out the front window! This property is close to other destinations such as Eagle River and Minocqua for restaurants, shopping or hiking. I highly recommend this cottage as a great family getaway.

Amazing stay at a quiet corner away from it all. Enjoyable waters, was able to catch pike and catfish, watched multiple bald eagles perched aloft various trees while on the lake, and had multiple beautiful purple sunsets. Fantastic stay that allowed for great family bonding.

Literally feet from the lake. Pontoon was fun to fish from. Unfortunately it was too windy to try out the kayaks. Definitely would love to come back.

Little piece of Heaven
Loved the location. Very quiet and secluded, just steps from the water with a nice dock for relaxing or fishing. Pontoon boat was a huge plus, tho the lake is quite weedy. Still fun and we did catch pan fish, northern and bass. Cabin is on the small side, but worked for 3 adults. Could use a few minor cabin updates/fixes in regard to amenities, but what cabin up north couldn't? Will consider renting again. Can't beat the location for a quiet/relaxing vacation. For sure, not much action in Pickerel, but that's what we tried to get away from for a while. Thanks for a great stay.

Outdoor fun!
The outdoor opportunities were fantastic; pontoon, fishing, water activities, camp fires, wildlife, etc. As mentioned, Pickerel Lake is not great for swimming-too many weeds. Dan, the owner was readily available via phone and quickly provided solutions when the septic alarm sounded and an issue arose with the pontoon. Cleanliness of the cottage did not meet our expectations.

A nice experience for the family
We spent a week with 4 adults and 3 children and had a good time. The home is well-kept and navigating the bathroom area was not a problem. It is a small home but adequate for 6 people. The kitchen was pretty nice with appropriate appliances and adequate utensils and cookware. There is not much to do around the area for kids apart from water activities on the lake. A trip to Eagle River for a tube float down the Wisconsin River and a dinner out with shopping was a good move. Antigo is good for mid-sized town basic shopping and groceries. Local quick marts have some basics and it’s only a short drive for bait, gas, ice, and misc items. The fishing was not what we hoped for on Pickerel but was still fun. We cast each day for several hours using mostly spinner baits with chartreuse skirts and flashy silver spoons in areas where the weeds were a bit deeper. The whole lake is quite shallow with only a few deeper areas. Trolling with minnows or worm rigs is not really an option with so many weeds. We caught around 50 pike but most were in the 12”-18” range....cigars....fishing mostly in 3’-4’ of weed flats and around the backside of the small island on the SW side of the northern section of the lake. Caught 4 keeper pike around 24” and one LM Bass that was 19”. Also caught around 20 smallies....usually around the edges of bountiful Lilly pads. All were between 10”-14”....no keepers. The dock is actually quite fun to mess around with fishing. Worms and a small hook with bobber catch bluegill in just seconds. Get cheap crappie minnows from the gas station and catch some nice crappies ranging from 6”-10” along with an occasional perch or even a smallie off the edges of the lilies. Even caught a couple pike off the dock. The boat is very nice and ran great for fishing, cruising, and tubing. Live well is great and the provided tube holds three persons and is great fun. There is not very much storage for food items so bring bins or boxes to keep food organized. It might be nice to have shelving or even a storage cabinet installed where the controls for the AC are located. All in all, it was a nice experience for the whole family to experience nature and time together. Do yourself a favor and don’t count on the internet to entertain everyone. It is sufficient to check email or take care of some business, but may cause some strife if the kids want to be on it all the time. Unplug and be with each itger for fun and games and margin.

Great Deal with Pontoon Boat Included
Despite a week of not the greatest weather, had a real nice time. Splashes of vibrant fall colors were cool. Fished off the pontoon on all but one day and caught northern, perch, and bluegill. Had several largemouth hits on top water frogs and poppers but never took the hook. Still got to see the fish jump from water. Saw plenty of wildlife.

Great Lake and Boat
Took my 3 sons and 2 grandsons their for 5 days. It was very nice, the boat was great, plus kayaks, canoe, tubing and foam island mat were all available. We fished, swam, watched eagles and had campfires every night. Worked out great for 6 people.

The house was great - plenty of dishes- towels- blankets for everyone! We all enjoyed the pontoon- fire pit- kayaks- the beautiful sunrise and sunsets !! We didn’t catch much fish - but still had fun trying! We had 5 adults and two teenagers - we all had a great time.

We enjoyed the staya and the use of the pontoon was what sold us on the rental. My only comment would be the upkeep of the outside area. Stuff lying around and the gas cans should be kept out of the sun. They are rotting. Also, please add to your description that paper products should be brought from home. Paying for toilet tissue by the role when you advertise stay to accommodate 9 people.

Great property, fantastic value.
This was our third trip to this property. It is an outstanding value when you consider that the pontoon boat is included in the rental. The cabin is very well appointed and the property is well maintained. I have been fishing Pickerel for decades, stayed at all the resorts on the lake and since we discovered this property have returned because it is such a nice place. The bay that this property sits on is shallow and weedy, but fishing off the end of the pier is actually very good. We caught numerous northern, perch and yellow bullheads right off the pier in bad weather as well as bass and walleye elsewhere in the lake from the pontoon boat.

The cottage is just as pictured, well maintained and stocked with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. It would be hard to find a more peaceful and quiet location on a lake. We enjoyed the beautiful pontoon boat and lake views everyday. The cottage is so close to the water that it almost feels like being in a house boat!

Nice cabin on a nice lake
Very nice cottage on a beautiful lake. Amenities were very nice also. The boat was a really nice perk but the lake is shallow and this time of year the weeds are pretty thick, making boating a bit of a challenge. We mostly fished off the dock, catching primarily bluegill. Bait shop is nearby and has a good selection. Lots of eagles and loons. Grandkids cried when we left. They want come back next year.

Overall everyone had a good time. I would say the cabin was more of a 2 bedroom than 3. The middle room was more of a common area. But it was stocked well and was perfect for our home away from home for a week. Disapointed in the lake far as fishing goes, too shallow and weedy, my son had to go to neighboring lakes with his boat to fish. But the dock area was cleared and the grandkids had tons of fun swimming.

Family had a great time!
We had 4 adults and 2 kids 17 and 12. We fished off the dock and the boat. We caught pike, sunfish, bass, catfish. We also pulled a tube and swam off the boat. The boat is awesome. It has a live well, places to hold your poles, a stereo you can Bluetooth your phone or listen to the radio stations, a top if you want out of the sun. We did 200 miles of trails and roads on our ATV's and Side be Sides. We rode to several other towns and had lunch. Also went to Shotgun Eddy's and did their whitewater rafting. The first drop is 7-8 ft. It is exhilarating if you never have done anything like that before. This isn't guided you are on your own. Wear your life jacket.

Awesome!
This is our third year staying here for our annual "Unplugged" vacation and we had another awesome stay! The new pontoon is definitely an upgrade over the previous boat and we took it out several times a day for tubing, fishing, and swimming. Other upgrades new this year are satellite TV and wi-fi, but we didn't use those very much since our goal was an unplugged vacation. (We didn't even tell the kids that the owners added wi-fi this year, but they noticed the router on the kitchen counter the last day. haha!!). We lucked out with great weather this year, but the TV and wi-fi would be great to have for rainy days. Besides the pontoon outings, we also swam off the dock and our son took the kayak around the bay a few times to fish. Lots of panfish caught in the bay, and quite a few large mouth bass and Northern from the pontoon around the lake. Thanks for another great stay!

Great place on a great lake!
We had a great week on Pickerel Lake. The house was very clean, the pontoon was beautiful, and the owners were very helpful with any questions that arose. Overall, we recommend this place as a great getaway for anyone looking for a place "up north", right on water's edge. We also had a blast fishing on the lake (best luck on the shorelines and around the islands), and we also fished the culvert down the road from the cabin, and Wolf River- which is about ten minutes away. If you get a chance, make sure to stop by the scenic Wolf River. Fishing was great (use spinners for smallmouth and trout) and the rapids were incredible. We also visited Antigo several times to stock up at Wal-Mart, as well as a day in Rhinelander, where we ate at CT's Deli (GREAT food) and then had a few beers at the brewery down the street. Thanks again, Dan, we really enjoyed our stay!

This up north cabin had everything we needed. Especially grateful for the washer and dryer. Pontoon was fantastic. Nice that we could tube. So happy about the fish cleaning station. Unfortunately, we didn't catch many keepers so only used it twice. Fun with the bags game, kayak and frisbees too. TV reception was spot on.

House is remodeled and very nice, only steps from the water. Caught several fish, northern and bass, right off the pier. Caught other fish; crappie, northern, perch, bluegill, and largemouth out on the pontoon boat. Nice campfire pit and deck right on water's edge. Fall colors were beautiful.
