Your own vehicle is necessary for getting to the property and for exploring Philipsburg. There are no taxis or driving services available in the area. WINTER MONTHS: It is highly recommended that you have at least a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the winter months. Snow tires and chains may be needed for extreme conditions. The road to the cabin is regularly plowed, but Montana weather is unpredictable and the roads can become icy or covered in snow at any given moment. We want you to be able to come and go as you please despite the weather.
***Please note: This cabin is designed for 6 adults and 4-5 children. To ensure the comfort of our guests, we do not recommend more than 6 adults per reservation. Road & Winter Access: The final stretch of road to The Basin is a maintained dirt/gravel road. While generally accessible by most vehicles, some sections can become washboarded and may feel a little rough, particularly in lower-clearance vehicles. Please drive slowly and use caution.
During the winter months, 4WD or AWD is highly recommended, and snow tires or chains may be necessary depending on conditions. The road is regularly plowed, but mountain weather can change quickly and snow or ice may still be present.
