"From the street this hotel doesn't look promising. But once inside it is really nice and recently completely renovated. There's also a very big back garden (with parking and 2 car chargers). Tip - on arrival, enter via the carpark gate rather than try the front door."

"FIrst of all, Jennifer is a great host -- doesn't speak much English, but goes out of her way to try. We couldn't figure out how to use the heaters, so she came right over to show us. It was nice to meet her that way; she was truly helpful. The listing on Vrbo is 100% accurate, so there are shortcomings, but no surprises at all. Place is well laid-out for a family. That being said, Pannes is the middle of nowhere; all the commerce is in Pont-A-Moussons, about 15 km from the house. Good luck finding a French restaurant -- there's a McDonald's and a couple ursatz American-type restaurants - in Pont-A-Moussons. House is close to Verdun, which is what we wanted, but for that, we gave up the charming French restaurants. You MUST have a car to get around; there's no other way. But again, read the listing carefully; it's 100% truthful and accurate. Overall, we had a great stay, and Jennifer is a lovely host."

"Superb chateau, ok breakfast could have had a cooked option (like scrambled eggs), lovely location for the view and peacefulness. We had the tower room which was lovely, lush sitting outside looking at the views or at the chateau. Fine dining but im a bit fussy with my food. "

"I was in a ground floor room, which was fine, but at approximately 02:30 a car pulled into to a parking space and left the engine running with the headlamps on that were aimed at my window, while two of the male occupants who were drinking something that was probably beer, had a shouting match, in French, behind my motorcycle, which was a little scary to say the least. This went on for around 20 minutes before they finally sorted their issues and went to their room. I did not sleep at all well and after a long ride from England was very disappointing."
