A week above the clouds...
My wife and I decided to take a break from our regular wintertime views and spent a week at this beautiful property. I can't ever remember when I spent more looking out the windows or off the deck at the amazing views and in awe at the cloud formations playing out below and around us! Mule deer, California Bighorn Sheep, bush bunnies, and a variety of winter birds were also spotted and enjoyed. The suite is very comfortable and roomy with a surprising selection of culinary accoutrements. (Teas, quality coffee, spices, condiments, etc.) In short order the place became a home away from home and the 12 km drive to/from town was something we looked forward to...feeling sometimes sorry for those trapped under the fog at lake level, while we were in residence above the clouds! (Hosts were warm and welcoming and their living nearby absolutely did not impact our stay.) We are already making plans to return again...

We are thrilled that you loved the view and got to see the wildlife (especially the Bighorn Sheep)! We wanted our space to truly feel like home which means it has to have all the cooking gear (condiments, spices, small appliances galore) and especially tea and coffee. We are currently staying at a vacation rental ourselves and it has 4 tea bags for 4 days stay and NO coffee et alone quality coffee. We look forward to hosting you again! Karen & Herman

Beautifully Quiet with Stunning Views
We were there for five nights and although there were some challenges with the TV signal, the beds were super comfy and it was lovely and quiet which we are used to. We had deer visiting and a brief visit from a young black bear. This property is slightly out of the way but so worth it if you like a quiet place to stay. The suite itself was so well appointed. There was nothing that we needed that wasn't there.

Thank you for staying with us and glad you liked the wildlife (although the garbage wasn't picked up at the usual hour on our street that day and I suspect that is why the bear came sniffing about as it's very unusual)! Re the internet connectivity, we had recently signed up for 5G so called the provider as technically the service should be even better than it was (which was no problem before). Mountain hide-away
This is one of the best equipped suites we stayed at and the vista is incredible. We truly enjoyed staying there and hope to be back soon. It is peaceful and relaxing and we loved seeing three deers coming by in the evening and having the dark skies and actually seeing satellites go by and naming constellations.

Awesome view. Very clean, Quiet location. Enjoyed the wildlife. Lots of room for the three of us. Enjoyed the car port- car always cool even on very hot days. House was cool even on hot days - enjoyed not having an air conditioner. Herman greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour or the house

Everything thought up to a very little things.

Quiet, beautiful, roomy, comfortable home away from home.
Suite overlooks Osoyoos Lake from Anarchist Mountain location. Very quiet at night, with lovely breezes to help one cool off. Suite is very comfortable and spacious, with pretty much anything you might need for cooking, creature comfort, relaxing with books, tourist literature, or games. It is a unique experience quite different from the more common Osoyoos tourist choice of booking at a hotel on the main drag by the lake.

A wonderful stay on Anarchist Mountain
Everything was great. Lots of amenities provided by the hosts. The view was to die for. An absoute must to stay at if you're going to be at Osoyoos area.

Where a week’s vacation actually felt like two!
The best week ever! This is exactly what we were hoping for- away from town but still close enough. In one week we came away feeling relaxed and fulfilled. The space was big, clean, quiet and the perfect hub from which to adventure around the southern Okanagan. This might not matter to some but if you are used to sleeping with king sized pillows it’s a big deal to have them available to you and they were! A very welcome touch.

Wake up to stunning panoramic views!
Just 12 minutes drive from the town a comfortable property with 2 good size double bedrooms comfy beds and masses of space. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a water cooler providing filtered drinking water A number of tasteful pieces of Karen’s art work are featured around the suite. There are 2 TV’s which both provide Netflix. There is a small deck with a table and chairs and a grill but the star of the show is the fantastic panoramic view over the lake! Karen and Herman were great to deal with both in initial communication and during our stay. Can thoroughly recommend this property and will definitely return here smouldering we come this way again 👍🏼

Great Trip!
Karen and Herman's home was excellent! The 2 bedroom suite was exactly as advertised in every way and more than lived up to our expectations. The setting was gorgeous and Herman was there right away to greet us and answer any questions we had after that, although since everything was so good we admittedly had few. Anyway just a really relaxing, great vacation. Would highly recommend their place to anyone.

Spent the long weekend here and the place does not disappoint. The views are spectacular. The bird life within the property is amazing. The premises are larger than what appears in the photos, especially the master bedroom which is huge. Would definitely stay again.

Was 100% worth the extra 5 minutes or so drive to stay away from the town of Osoyoos. So quiet up there and absolutely beautiful. My stay was work related so I was hoping for quiet. I got exactly that. Great spot!

Roomy, well appointed, great view
Wonderful apartment with a beautiful view of the valley, lots of space and a well stocked kitchen. They have thought of most everything to make the stay enjoyable. Our only regret was because of the cool weather, it would have been nice to be staying down in the valley where the temperatures were warmer.

Our Stay at Spirit Ridge
Outstanding views of the valley. The accommodations are first class. The premises was extremely clean. Lots of amenities. This place is a gem. We would recommend in a heartbeat and definitely come back.

My stay at Spirit Lodge
I loved my stay here: it was so comfortable, with absolutely stunning views! My hobby is bird photography and I I got some great bird photos in the yard of the property. I am sad to go and continue my vacation elsewhere, but would definitely come back.

Mountaintop desert sanctuary with spectacular views
This is a gem! Serene, private, fully equipped with many thoughtful amenities. Soothing colour palette in harmony with rare antelope brush desert ecosystem. Wonderful aboriginal-themed art, eclectic library, even field binoculars. The drive down to the vineyards and lake is a visual delight. Thank you, Herman and Karen, for your generous hospitality. Location is everything!
10 min drive to Osoyoos center by scenic highway, cool- no need for conditioner in July, clean, huge, homey feeling, well stocked, noise isolated, private, large deck with view. We stayed for 4 days with our friends and both families left with feeling that we would like to come back and stay longer. Hosts are welcoming and eager to provide you with all information needed.

Vacation in paradise
Karen and Herman are the great hosts, every little detail is looked after starting from prompt communications, detailed description of the property and of course the suite itself. Amazing view, very quiet area, everything inside is decorated with great taste and forethought. We would drive down 12 minutes to the lake, enjoy downtown, beach, hikes and vineries and come back to this little paradise. Little touches like homemade apricot jelly left for us in the fridge or floaties ready to use on arrival makes this place exceptional. Sunsets are gorgeous and night sky is unbelievable. We will be back!

Great stay at Million $ view
My husband and I were so lucky to find this place in Osoyoos. It was exactly what we were looking for- beautiful surroundings and privacy. This is an ideal place for anyone who likes to travel but this summer for reasons we all know prefers to avoid big crowds. Of course Osoyoos is just a short drive away. The place is very clean and comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped. The view from the deck is breathtaking. The hosts are a couple of beautiful people and I miss them already. We really hope to stay there again soon.

Our stay here exceeded our expectations!
The property is all that is described. Karen and Herman were perfect hosts and it’s obvious they take pride in the property for guests to enjoy. Even though it was 35-40 degrees C. when we were there, the property was situated to make the most of a lovely breeze. The view was outstanding to enjoy coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Our stay here enhanced our vacation.

Karen and Herman are wonderful hosts and their suite was clean, quiet, and full of amenities.
It was a perfect place for us to stay with a fully equipped kitchen. Karen even provided plush new bath robes and slippers. We saw lots of wildlife right out the back door which was a real treat. Karen and Hernan are wonderful hosts making sure to make your stay very enjoyable and memorable.

Beautiful view from the deck. I enjoyed my morning coffee watching the birds and a visit from Mr. Marmot. Very well equipped kitchen which came in handy. I would stay here again.

Beautiful Oasis in the mountains!
Karen and Herman are gracious hosts that welcomed us into their home during our stay in Sept 2017. Everything you can think of was readily available (from condiments, a coffee bean grinder, to beach towels and chairs). Karen kept in contact with us and made sure to send us a useful information package ahead of time and met up with us to help us 'check in.' We really loved the privacy that was only a short drive from town - allowing for amazing views off the little deck while having breakfast or using the BBQ. We definitely recommend this private oasis and would be back the next time we are in the area.

Fabulous view
What an amazing stay at Spirit Lodge! We were a little reluctant at first to book something that wasn't right in Osoyoos but upon arrival we quickly realized what an oasis this was and at the end of each day we were so happy to make our way up the hill to enjoy the tranquility and the glorious view. The unit is very spacious and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Karen and Herman have gone above and beyond adding special touches like the welcome baskets with robes, slippers, and bath products. I will absolute book this again when I come back next year, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!

What a pleasure having you as guests and thanks so much for the great review! We trust it will help others who may be concerned that we are 10-12 minutes from town. It's hard to describe how the few minutes drive transports guests into a different type of evening...and you did it very well! Sunsets from above the lake are so much more than being on the lake. Also the stargazing! We will see you back again soon we hope!
