Worst VRBO Experience in 10 Years â Misleading Listing & Unacceptable Conditions
As a longtime VRBO user (10 years, booking 2-3 times annually), Iâve never encountered such a disappointing rental. While Iâd rather forget this experience, Iâm leaving an honest review to warn future renters and prevent others from facing the same issues. 1. Misleading Photos vs. Reality:The listing had numerous photos, which initially inspired confidence. However, the actual condition of the home was shockingly differentâfar dirtier, poorly maintained, and missing basic amenities. Examples include: Missing/Broken Items: - No shower handle in the 1st-floor main bathroom. - Missing furniture handles, towel rods, outlet covers, and TV remote battery cover. - Broken blinds hung haphazardly without a curtain rod. Filthy Conditions: - Stained, dusty carpets with visible dirt clumps. - Sticky kitchen appliances, floors (tiles, living room, bathroom), and uncleaned countertops. - Thick dust on ceiling fan blades and control chains (too dirty to use). - A pair of menâs underwear left on a closet shelf. Safety/Maintenance Hazards: - Wasp nests on the balcony. - Rusted fridge with a broken temperature control. - Non-functional garbage disposal. - Burned-bottom pots and pans. - Roach infestation. Owner/Management Response:Despite reporting these issues, no meaningful action was taken to address the problems during our stay. This property is falsely advertised and neglects basic cleanliness and functionality.
