The room had what we needed for a one night stay. Extremely soft mattress, and hot water was metered. Staff were friendly and gave great recommendations on hikes.

Hi Carol, Thanks for your stay at The Peaks. We are sorry to learn that you find mattresses too soft. Unfortunately it is a very difficult to get a right balance of softness vs hardness of the mattresses as it come to personal preference, our all mattresses are Sleepy Head brand and supplied by a well known hotel amenities supplier. We are not sure what you mean by "Hot water is metered" there is no limit/metering on the hot water. Thank you.

Great place to stay. Little dated but still a nice place to stay while in Ohakune. It’s a little removed from the town centre but not a problem if you have a car only a short drive.

The room was clean and the kitchen was comfortable to use. It was very quiet at night. The bed was good to sleep.

This was a great place for heading up the mountain. The rooms are well equiped for a family of 4. We had all we needed and the spa bath was great after a day on the mountain. The only complaint was that the couch could have been more comfortable.

Good would recommend.
Was a great stay. Spacious room and self contained unit. Only that will nake this 10 on 10 is if they atleast put soapmor fill up the alredy installed inserts with Body wash. As we wouldn't carry soap for 1 night stays. This is oit second trip to Ohakune when we stayed here. Very nice.

Wir waren vor 10 Jahren schon einmal in diesem Motel und waren sehr zufrieden. Leider wurden wir dieses Mal sehr enttäuscht. So nett die (neuen?) Inhaber auch sind, so sehr bedarf es einer Renovierung. Ein Amerikaner würde sagen, das Motel ist 'running down'. Schade

Very nice simple motel, unexpected plus of a kitchenette, clean, quiet. About 1km walk down the Main Street to get to a grocery store.

Excellent property for price with full amenities (self catering all pans dish towels etc fully stocked) and plenty of room. Room and facilities very clean with great patio area to sit and enjoy Mountain View. Laundry for guests equipped well and again very clean. Very happy with this property compared to all the others we stayed in.

We stayed just for one night as a last minute change to our travel plans. Booked in the morning and checked in later that day. Excellent in all respects. Fast efficient checkin, parking outside door, and room with good facilities. We made use of the guest laundry (which was in heavy demand). There was a spa bath in the room which we didn't get a chance to check out (it was very inviting). WiFi worked fine. Very handy to the shops in Ohakune. We would like to come back and stay here again sometime.

Ohakune sojourn
The Peaks was an excellent place to stay in Ohakune. Our only issue was a very soft bed. Otherwise, the unit was well equipped. The staff was very helpful.

Great stay! Very quiet, clean and relaxing... terrific hosts, the Peaks Motor Inn has the atmosphere and location to stay relaxed or take a short travel to experience the thick of local food and shops. Late arrival accomodation was a very attentive nice touch.
