Favorite condo from annual visitors!

Our family stays in a Bay Watch condo every summer- this was the best condo to date. We loved having 2bed/2bath. 1 big balcony off living room & 1 small balcony off master bedroom. Washer/dryer was a plus. Kitchen was stocked with all utensils, pots, pans, can opener, Keurig, toaster etc. 3 beach chairs/fan/baby bumper for bed in the closet. I love when owners leave these extra things to make our stay more comfortable. My only complaint (not for owner but to cleaning service) is every room had sand and long dark hair on the floors. Luckily there was a vacuum in the closet for me to vacuum when we checked in. This would not deter me from coming back- I would 100% recommend and stay again. I did see other complaints of low water pressure- don’t let this deter you. It was a little low at kitchen sink but nothing worth complaining about. Water was great in the showers (where it matters!) and we had plenty of hot water for everyone to shower comfortably. Like I said- this was our favorite condo so far- thank you for having us!

1st Experience

2 couples Golf-Beach Trip. From PA. Past experiences with oceanfront condos was Hilton Head. This property booked via VRBO. Overall thrilled that the unit was clean, cozy & quiet! Pros: Parking Garage across street but can pull up right outside elevators to load/unload, unit had most amenities needed, North Beach Realty staff very nice, easy access to beach Cons: You must go to the realty office (1.6 miles 5 min drive) upon arrival & departure (we are accustomed to receiving the pkt via mail prior to travel), this particular unit still uses traditional keys to a deadbolt (vs a keypad), the hallway to the unit is rusty & unkept, the water pressure in the unit (except for the showers thankfully) is very low which we reported to the office right away (arrival Sat) but it took until Tues to be notified that the owner has low flow devices (it just would've been nice to know this ahead of time to eliminate the back & forth between us & the office while trying to enjoy vacation). The office did send a maintenance person out promptly, who validated the issue. Then the office had the HOA visit who said everything was fine...it was then we were notified that the owner has "low pressure for a reason." I am not opposed to resource conservation it just would've been nice to know ahead of time. Beach towels are not supplied, which is fine, we just got a chuckle that the plaque on the living room wall indicates "beach house. beach towels provided" lol. Would recommend & would revisit.

Beautiful beach view from balcony

Property location directly on the beach was fantastic. Lazy River was a big hit too. Overall condition of main buildings was ok and could use some updating. Condo was clean and kitchen well appointed. Condo was updated with new countertops and kitchen appliances. The air conditioning system was a bit problematic. Didn’t seem to remove moisture and there was a fan running when we checked in. Glad it was there because we needed it for circulation in master bedroom. It was noted in other reviews as well. Overall it was a great location and we all had a good time.

Stay at Baywatch

Room was nice. Top floor pro was being quieter but the elevators are busy and slow so it takes awhile to get up and down. The unit was pretty clean for a beach rental, the resort not so much. As the other reviews say bedding/pillows are terrible so the owner should definitely consider upgrading. Outside pools were nice but always very busy. Inside pools looked dark and dirty so we didn’t use those. This is a big complex so good for families but definitely not a place for couples or to relax. No restaurants in walking distance but lots options within a close drive. Barefoot landing was a nice spot.

Amazing view. Clean unit. Easy check in/out. The only complaint we had was the sheets / pillows on the beds which could just be preference (they were a little rough and flat pillows). We loved the resort - perfect for families.

Condo is not as big as they tell you

This unit will NOT fit 8 people unless you are all sleeping. The living/dining and kitchen area are so small that only one person can be in the kitchen and there is only seating in the living room and dining room for 4 people. The living is so small that we were on top of each other the enitre time. The pillows are nothing but flat pancakes and they are all stained. The mattresses are very hard and the box springs are stained so bad that you can see the stains on the sides of them. The unit is outdated. The refrigerator took for ever to get cold, the air conditioner did not keep up and we were so hot and uncomfortable sleeping. Do yourself a favor and don't choose this rental. The resort elevator smelled like gas the entire time and we did complain to an employee but apparently nothing was found or they just didn't bother because it reeked the entire time of our stay.

Not our cup of tea

The unit was suitable for a family of 5 and well maintained. The living area and kitchen were small but the bedrooms were a very nice size, the kitchen appliances were nice and worked well. The living area furniture was quite comfortable. The unit seemed satisfactorily cleaned. The kitchen could have been better stocked in terms of utensils and dishes. The unit is high up enough that the noise from the pool area was not an issue. The main issue with the unit was wifi. It's a shared 2G network for the entire resort which was not sufficient and unreliable. To make matters worse, the television leverages a streaming service instead of cable and a 2G network does not have sufficient bandwidth. Other responses to reviews said this is an HOA problem however when searching for wifi it shows that many other units in the complex have a private 5G router that's password encrypted and the owners should really look into this if they are going to have a streaming service for cable. The rest of the critical feedback is on the resort. To say it was crowded was an understatement. The garage is a complete disaster and an accident waiting to happen. It's also detached from the building which means lugging any of your luggage to and from your car or carrying your groceries requires you to go down several floors to get out of the garage then up 19 floors to get to the unit. Forget luggage carts. When we arrived, one of the elevators was broken, and was not fixed until Wednesday. Two working elevators meant it could take you as long as 30 minutes just to get up or down....19 flights is a very long way to walk! The pool area was chaotic with nobody enforcing any rules. It was nice to use during "off times" like morning or at 5 pm but other than that we avoided it. Kids would literally eat in the lazy river, parents drink in the pool, kids jump across concrete to get from pool to pool with no supervision. There were rules posted with absolutely no enforcement. Ignore the signs about reserving lounge chairs because this is not enforced and you won't get a chair. Nobody checks the bracelets to make sure you are staying at the property, and there is no key required to get to the pool area, so anyone can wander up from the beach. The rinse-off is in a pile of sand such that people drag sand into the pool area. The experience was not at all befitting of a "resort". We won't stay here again. There are other high rises on the beach with pools that are far less chaotic.
