Interior was similar to photos, exterior was in rough shape, paint pealing, rotten siding, etc. Upon arrival, broken mirror found, let the owner know.
First night, guests in lower level bedroom, awoke with numerous cockroaches on their bed. The next morning, I informed the owner, they stated they would work on getting pest control there. The individuals that were staying in those two rooms, had to relocate the couches in the main area.
Second day on site, we found the refrigerator was not staying cold and found the gasket was off. We did our best to reinstall, so we would not loose hundreds of dollars worth of groceries. We ran the dishwasher and found that was leaking. We also opened an additional pull out couch in the 3 season room, only to find mouse feces in the folded mattress as well as in and around the couch.
Later that day after site seeing, we came home to shower and found out, that the second floor shower leaked into the kitchen after a few people use that shower. We checked to make sure it wasn’t water outside the shower and the upstairs bathroom floor was dry.
The second evening, one of my fellow guests, Joe, reached out to the owner and the owner apologized and offered a refund of the cleaning fee, which has not been refunded, nor is that satisfactory. I have reached out to the owner multiple times, with no response.
VRBO should not allow this rental due to unsanitary conditions.
