« We were so pleased to finally stay at the Windmill we’d first seen on Villages by the Sea and again from the North Norfolk Railway. It’s a remarkable building, and you can really appreciate how much care and investment must go into maintaining it. « Jean at the White Lodge was an amazing host. Very cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. During my stay, I met and spoke to a lot of other guests who had been going for years, which emphasises the warmth and homely nature. »

« Great location for visiting Sandringham. Breakfast not included in room fee. My husband likes to read and write in morning. There was no desk in the room and no access to open areas in the facility. Being located “right next” to the road, with the bed on that wall, it was noisy. Double pained windows on that wall would help. »

The tv was on and someone was talking loudly on their phone - I needed an early night as I wasn’t feeling well. That didn’t happen. As a woman travelling alone I was not comfortable with a ground floor room close to the entrance - I would have liked to open the window, but did not feel secure enough. « This is a great venue if you wish to be off grid lifestyle. For us it didn’t quite meet our needs as our dog couldn’t manage the staircase & although we thought we had a shower and separate bathroom we only had a bath. Hot water is at a premium here we found & lacking in water pressure. But truly a great venue if you wish to unplug, & chill. One recommendation I would make, to help dogs relax. Is to the make the gardens private with privacy screens. The dog next door was barky & uneasy...
