New York : Bateaux-maisons

« This charming 'yacht' perhaps was a bit oversold by the title. The boat was very clean. The marina it was in felt safe and everybody was very friendly. There was a shower room at the marina if you wanted to shower in a bigger space than what the boat offered. (Imagine showering in a phonebooth with a toilet and sink in there.) We loved sitting out on the boat at night as the sun was setting. It was very peaceful. As far as what the word "yacht" envokes in a person's mind, this didn't necessarily...

« Beautiful views from the back deck but limited comfortable seating outside to sit and enjoy. Posting indicated "on the beach" with towels and loungers provided. The beach is a 15 minute drive away and only one chair was available and no beach towels. I contacted the host who apologized for the lack of towels and made plans to have them delivered but were not available during our stay. The host also mentioned the posting for beach towels and loungers was an error and will be updated. Also...

« What a wonderful retreat! The hosts are warm and wonderful. The beds are very comfortable and you really can't beat the hot tub and water slide. Live music on the weekends in the summer is a blast, and its fun to watch the boats go by in the river on their way to the lake. The boat is docked in a working marina, with a lot of boat traffic, so that's just something to keep in mind. But my family had a blast sliding off into the river and living the boat life :) Highly recommend and we can't wait...
