Les chambres sont jolies, vieillottes mais avec une touche de modernité et confortables. Le personnel est très sympathiques et avenants. Cest chaleureux comme endroit et près de tous à pieds ( quartier français, Bourbon street, quartier des affaires). C'est la parfaite place pour se loger à peu de frais! Et Gypsy le chat vous accueillera dans le hall d'entrée! ;)

When I booked, I didn’t realize that I had booked a room in an apartment, but it turned out to be okay. The bathroom was shared with only one other couple. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is central but quiet, so you can rest if you want and, given that it was the first weekend of the Jazz festival, the price was very, very good.

The hotel is ok for a night or two, but I wouldn't stay more than that. The rooms are cute, but a little awkward. The shower was next to the bed. The room didn't come with a blanket, and it was pretty chilly at night. When we asked for one, we were told they were out. They gave us fitted sheets instead. We asked again the next night, hoping some were turned in, but we were just given more fitted sheets. Also noted: breakfast isn't included. Expedia says 'breakfast available," so I just want to note that for future guests. It does cost extra. Hotel staff was really nice and gave us a credit toward the bill to accommodate us. They also gave us some dining recommendations that worked out great, so the staff is wonderful. Like I said, it's great for a few nights, especially since it's located by a few streetcar stops that are really convenient, but I wouldn't stay long or stay here for a business trip.

Jordan is a fantastic, outgoing manager who told us about some great local spots to check out. Our initial arrival was disappointing because the bed was broken and a fire alarm was beeping every minute. When we moved to another room, it was a downgrade from what we had paid for and it smelt strongly of mold. We decided to stick it out through the night with windows open and the fan on. After that, the staff was gracious and offered us one of the apartments and it was a beautiful stay. I would recommend the apartments if you come, but the rooms were also fun and quirky minus the above mentioned issues we had.

Aracely was very kind to us as soon as we arrived. She quickly found us a room upgrade which made our stay even better! The rest of the staff was very polite as well, always greeting us when we’d pass through the lobby. Will definitely recommend this spot and can’t wait to book my stay here for a future trip.

I recently had the displeasure of staying at [Selina catahoula] in New Orleans, and I must say it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a stay to forget. Firstly, the check-in process was slow and disorganized. The staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, making me feel unwelcome right from the start. I reserved private rooms with breakfast and got nothing of that. They forced me to pay extra at least $150 to upgrade to private bathrooms for the two bedrooms but even then one bathroom has no door and no curtains. I ask the manager to send me one they did not. Staff were weird acting and some are not willing to help and quiet. The room itself was a major letdown - it was dirty, outdated, and had a musty smell that was hard to ignore. The bed was uncomfortable, and the noise from the street outside kept me up all night. To make matters worse, the amenities promised on the hotel's website were either nonexistent or in poor condition. Overall, my stay at the hotel was a complete waste of money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay in New Orleans. Save yourself the trouble and find accommodations elsewhere.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. We were given a complimentary drink from the bar when we checked in. There is no fridge or microwave in the room. Not a problem for us, but just wanted to note that for future guests to the property. We had problems connecting to the WiFi as well as getting our tv to work with the Roku that is provided in the room. The hotel did give us the hotel password to connect instead of using the guest WiFi so we just mirrored my phone to the tv to watch tv. The water pressure was pretty low and the shower/sink never got hot. There was a dehumidifier in the room which helped the mugginess. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is a few blocks from the French Quarter so no need for ride share or a cab.

I booked a “standard” room through hotels.com, but was provided an “economy double” upon check-in. The room was extremely humid & the wall unit did very little help, as I had to turn the fan all the way up and put the temp on almost 55 degrees for humidity relief & the room only comes with sheets, no blanket or comforter set. The bed is pretty uncomfortable & reminds me of a hostel or college dorm. The exterior & the courtyard are very nice and the vision for the guest rooms is eclectic, but could be executed better for comfort. I wouldn’t stay again, especially not for the $246 I was charged.

This was my second stay at the property. Pretty good price for Mardi Gras and decent location. The rooms are small but I was aware of that when booking . Room had a moldy smell and was so so clean. The shower in this room was tiny. Be aware the showers are in the room do not allow for any privacy if sharing a room.

I was there in the winter and the heat wasn’t working in my room. First night, no one could fix it so I slept with all my clothes on plus jacket. Next day maintenance was supposed to fix it but never did. Staff didn’t make sure I was comfortable. Later another staff member came on duty who was very helpful. She tried several rooms until we could find one with the heat working. (And that was a lot of tries). The location was very convenient but the two male staff members didn’t help at all with making sure I was comfortable.

The management and staff at this hotel were excellent. But the hotel itself needs improvements. Our room did not have a refrigerator as it should have. We had no tv remote on the first day. When we were brought one, the tv didn’t work. A staff member was able to fix this. No ice machines were working on our first 4 days. And God only knows who decided on the paint design for our room but it was terrible. The wall had these design painted on it which looked like large amoebas. Who wants to lay in bed looking at something that is a reminder of bacteria. Not pretty. We did like the location. It is about 8 blocks from the French Quarter, convenient to restaurants, entertainment and within about a fifteen minute brisk walk from everything we wanted to see. Thank you to the staff as they were friendly and helpful.

This is a terrible place to stay. First of all, when a room has a shared restroom, that should be mentioned clearly. I found that after arriving the hotel. The heating and cooling is central. Although they say, heating and cooling included, you get no advantage of that. I could not sleep well because of extra cold room. They don’t have blankets too. Room is very small, and not clean. My room had a corner small window with no certain. Could not sleep in the morning because of sunlight. Room service was bad. Didn’t even come to change the bed sheets and everything. Wifi signal was weak too. Overall horrible experience. Won’t recommend at all.

The Selina Catahoula is a decent place to stay if you’re passing through the city and are staying for a night or two and looking to get a good deal on your stay. However, wouldn’t exactly recommend staying here for a long period of time. From our experience, the room was pretty dingy which didn’t make for the most comfortable experience. Some of the things we noticed and didn’t care for: water took some time to heat up, the A/C unit made noise even when it was turned off, and the rooftop bar — which was pretty loud between the blaring music and people yelling until after midnight. However, I’m sure you can avoid this part if you request one of their indoor rooms for your stay. The staff were really pleasant throughout our stay, they were kind and even provided us with recommendations on where to spend our time. While I didn’t love our room, the staff, along with the very walkable location of the hotel, made up for this. But we likely wouldn’t stay here again.

There’s a rooftop bar that is comically loud above the hotel rooms. Rooms were small, and they had some pest issues (drain flies in the shower). Since the shower is open to the room the flies were all over the room. The decor and everything was nice, and it’s a great location for the price. Fine for a night or two but wouldn’t want to stay there much longer than that.

Less boutique hotel and more dirty hostel
Our stay at Selina Catahoula was disappointing to say the least. We booked because we thought a small, boutique-style hotel was exactly what we were looking for during Jazz fest, but it turned out to be a nightmare. Its only redeeming quality was its convenient location and proximity to the French quarter. From overcharging for water at the front desk (vs the bar), to bugs flying all over our room, to not having it properly cleaned, to our window facing a hallway where other guests could clearly peak in, the experience was less than ideal. We will definitely not be staying here again, and frankly, don't feel like staying at any other Selina property will be worth it.

Is this a party pad or a hotel? Staff is lazy. Too busy to help you now and instead pushes you to the next day staff. The suites are vastly different. The small one is SMALL and not a suite. AC was like a loud engine and barely worked. We were moved to the suite advertised online but then there was a rooftop party above our room the next night until 2am. The property has a ton of potential. Be fair with rates and either make it a hotel or a hostel. Not both.
