nous avons séjourné une nuit, l'hôtel est propre et assez ancien.Le service très bien, avec restauration sur place.La situation n'est pas terrible et on a presque peur de laissé sa voiture sur le parking situé à l'arrière car sur le devant très peu de places sont offertes car la route passe devant.Le wi-fi fonctionne dans le hall, personnellement je n'ai pas réussi à me connecter. Grand hôtel avec passage de car de touristes : notre chambre au 2ème étage ne couvrait pas les bruit dans les couloirs. Nous n'y reviendront pas.

À déconseiller. Vieux. Propreté laisse à désirer
L'hôtel qui nous a le plus déçu durant notre voyage de 12 jours en Écosse. Un hôtel très vieux, pas très confortable, dont la propreté des chambres laissent beaucoup à désirer, avec un personnel assez expéditif et peu accueillant à la salle à manger.

A lovely hotel not far from the town. Staff very friendly and helpful Rooms basic but very clean and functional. Nice bathroom recently decorated .

the hotel and bar/in house restaurant were great! Nice employees and good food. we ate in the bar at night and breakfast buffet in the morning. Our bathroom was updated and clean. The only downside, if you can call it that, was the lack of a laundry when it was noted as an amenity in the Expedia listing. When we asked at the front desk they said they do not have or provide laundry services. Being limited on clothing and planning it out as our laundry location, that put a minor ding in our plans. But stinky us aside with no clean clothes for the morning, everything else went well at this hotel and I would come back.

Grand old property with rather nice staff. However, there is definite room for improvement in some cosmetic aspects, such as hall and stairway carpeting. The rooms have all the requirements and are quite a bit more appealing than the halls. Very good menus and food prepared by a darn good chef.

nice welcoming hotel
Parking was good and easily accessible. check in was good service, however our booking was made via a 3rd party and the wrong room was booked, no fault of the hotel, and if the hotel was not full then a swop would have been offered. The room had recently been refurbished to a good standard, but the corridors and other parts of the hotel were still needing a refresh. There was good, friendly service in the bar, and the food and drink selection were good, I enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was good and well stocked however table bookings are a must when the hotel is busy. must just say, if sitting outside in the beer garden, wear bug repellant... Overall a great stay.

Location perfect, lovely walks along the river easy to reach mountains and locks. Hotel a little tired and needs some refurbishments. Dinner menu good service very friendly, only issue was eggs for breakfast cooked too early were cold and rubbery!

It no longer sits in isolation
Although the hotel was a little "tired" everything about my stay was very good, and the staff were very friendly, despite my being elderly. I don't really understand the "eco-friendly" question, I don't think it is relevant to reality. It is politicians that need to be "eco-friendly", current legislation is a whitewash and beyond basics it should not have to concern hotels unduly, particularly in rural areas. How does a customer know where the electricity and water supplies come from, not to mention many other important issues.

A overnight stop to do some cycling in the area. Hotel was warm and comfortable with a good restaurant and bar within it. Food was good and service good. Room was a good size and the walk in shower was perfect and some Cyling.

Some rooms need modernising, as does the hotel in general but bed comfy, food ok, and staff friendly. For what we paid compared to similar hotels, I would have expected breakfast to be included in the price.

Der angestaubte Glanz vergangener Zeiten
Das Hotel ist mächtig in die Jahre gekommen, trotzdem strahlt es noch eine gewisse Elegant aus. Man fühlt sich sofort in einen Edgar Wallace Film versetzt. Unser Zimmer war geschmackvoll renoviert und sauber, die Frau an der Rezeption charmant und hilfsbereit. Mittelmäßig war nur das Abendessen im Restaurant, das Frühstück konnte jedoch wieder punkten. Mit Abstand das spannendste Hotel unserer Schottland-Reise.

Beautiful location
I think the usual phrase is 'in need of updating'. The public areas, particularly, needed a little bit of sprucing up (I'm talking wrinkly carpets in the corridors). Having said that, the room I had was lovely. Clean, comfortable, and with a beautiful view. Frankly, that's what counts. Food was good with a sensible approach - simple things done well. I didn't try the breakfast as there is a lovely cafe just across the road that does everything you could want (and does it well) for a 'late breakfast'. Worth a mention is the garden. Beautiful, with the springiest grass I have ever come across. Nethybridge is also a lovely place. All in all, I liked the hotel and I loved the location. I would happily stay there again.
