    New 2024 listing! Full of amenities (you'll need to see them to believe them!), Reuben Ridge's Hobbit House has 3 charming bedrooms and 2 completely renovated bathrooms. Our family friendly bedrooms are comfortable for up to 8 when the full size suspended bed & twin upper bunk is used. Otherwise, forget the suspended bed & upper bunk and the bedrooms are great for 6 adults (2 per bedroom) who want more private sleeping arrangements! Smart TVs in every bedroom plus living area. Ultra fast WIFI and Xfinity Cable. Fully stocked open concept kitchen includes coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and Splenda in addition to Olive Oil and most cooking Spices. We even supply insulated cups to keep your beverages cold! Indoor dining seats 8. Playstation 4 and multiple board games available for rainy days! Speaking of rainy days, there is a 12 x 16 screened gazebo on the deck with outside dining, a propane fire table & conversation area along with a propane grill (propane included for the fire table and grill). Private swimming deck with lounge chairs to relax in the sunshine! 9 x 12 swim mat, noodles, floats and life vests are all available at no charge or bring your favorite floats and fill them up with our onsite compressor!

    Please note: Hobbit House has reduced ceiling heights in the kitchen and lower level bathroom. If you’re taller than 6’2”, you may want someone else to cook!

    There is a 2024 Pontoon available to rent at an extra charge discounted for guests who rent our home! Boat fee is $400.00/day discounted to $368.00/day for our guests. Rentals for 3 days or more are discounted even further! Our boats are for rent to experienced boaters only but we also have a Captain's Tour package available so you can enjoy your time on the water and the SANDBAR without a care in the world! Just ask if you're interested!

The lake view was absolutely beautiful and the property was wonderful. Very clean and the host was fantastic. Definitely recommend!!! We would stay here again without hesitation.

We are having an incredible time. Very relaxing, close to so many stores. Kids are loving the swim pads and all the amenities. Gazebo is awesome great view.

The Hobbit House was amazing. It was a perfect little lake house where my friends and I were able to relax. There were little welcome snacks when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Thank you for the perfect weekend.

This house is stocked and took a lot of the work out of staying at a lake house. We couldn’t have been happier, and Kelly was fantastic to work with. I really appreciated that seat cushions had storage bins to keep them dry so, even though we had a ton of rain over July 4th weekend, it didn’t spoil my morning coffee sitting out on the dock. My family and I had a wonderful time.

The host was amazing. The house was fully stocked with more than just the essentials with lovely surprises everywhere. They were very communicative and accommodating and I hope this can become a yearly stay for me and the family. There were more stairs than I expected but it all worked out and we just helped my mom who is turning 80 a little more.

Perfect Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for our weekend away at Lake Shafer! The location was perfect, the house was so cute and clean and so many personal touches by the host that made us feel so welcome!! I would highly recommend this house and we will be back!

Quiet and cozy weekend.

Kelly was an excellent host always providing immediate communication. We appreciated all of the extra amenities provided and the place was spotless. The beds were alos very comfy! We will definitely stay again!

Our quick vacation at Hobbit House was perfect! The home is meticulously clean and organized, beautifully decorated, comfortable and was supplied with everything we needed and more! The fantastic lake view and access was perfect to enjoy from the large deck and swimming dock, the kids were able to have a blast on the lily pad right of the dock and hubby did some fishing while I relaxed soaking in the sunshine! Kelly, our host, didn't spare any attention to even the smallest details. She went above and beyond our expectations to ensure our family had a wonderful stay, PERFECT!Thank you for sharing your lake house with us!

The house was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Everything you could possibly need was there, including toiletries in case you forgot something and life jackets, awesome water mats and pool noodles for the lake. The large deck with the dining table and fire-table was where we spent our evenings eating and enjoying each other's company. Kelly was wonderful to work with and always available. The house is close to everything you need, yet feels far away and peaceful. We had a great time and would definitely consider renting again in the future.

Long weekend

We were looking to disconnect and spend quality on the lake. Beautiful property, charming decor, well stocked for any cooking/baking needs, and very dog friendly! We loved the boat also and it allowed us to see all of Lake Shafer.

We have been staying in VRBO's for almost 15 years now and this might possibly be one of the cleanest, smoothest experiences we've had. Kelly is an AMAZING host who checked in with us often to make our stay exactly what we wanted. The snacks, bottled water and s'mores kit were over the top. We didn't even need to use most of the supplies/toiletries/laundry detergent we brought from home as it was already provided. If you're on the fence, here's your sign to book this house. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful and Peaceful Stay

The host is super accommodating and responsive. The lake house is well stocked with amenities. It's a lovely well maintain home. The rooms were cozy and it was nice to be off the beaten path just a little.
