The host/ owner is very nice. She met us at the apartment, gave us a tour around and explained everything to us. She also gave us recommendations for what to do/ see/ eat in Milan.
Considering VRBO charges a cleaning fee, the apartment really needs a deep cleaning. It did not feel clean at all. There were several used bars of soap in the shower, hair on the floor of the bathroom, and the mirror was not clean.
There was virtually no water pressure either. And the washer takes a minimum of an hour to do a very small load. We were grateful for a washer to wash some laundry, but it took up a lot of time. The bed is a pull out that does not stay together. We were shown where there was an extra duvet, but it did not have a cover.
There are also rules about separating garbage, but no bins or bags to do so. You’re given the option to bring it down to the court yard and separate it, or leave it for the host. I think the bins/ bags should be provided and labeled with what can go in them.
We felt safe inside the apartment, but the streets around do not seem to be great. Maybe that’s just Milan, it was our first visit to the city. Location is a bit out of the way, but close to the canals. Only a 10 minute walk to the Metro.
Overall, not a terrible stay, but I wouldn’t stay again or recommend unless they do a thorough cleaning.
