What used to be the "Ambassador Hotel" is now breathing with new life! This historic property was fully renovated from head to toe (but with much of the original character still intact). The brick exterior and interior walls add a lot of charm to this perfectly located downtown property with parking! Your apartment is 1 of 10 equipped with its own washer and dryer, a super-comfy queen-sized bed, smart TV, SUPERFAST WIFI, and the convenience of a delicious restaurant right downstairs.
From the historic exposed brick walls to your front door everything has been renovated! Equipped with your own kitchen (and all the cooking essentials incl. salt, pepper, and olive oil) a washer and dryer if you will be staying with us a bit longer, smart TV linked to WIFI. Cozy seating areas, a kitchen table to enjoy a home-cooked meal, a delicious meal from the restaurant downstairs, or use it as a space to get some work. You will feel right at home :)
The Ambassador by Midtown Stays has its own parking lot next to the hotel and every guest gets one dedicated parking space. You can walk to everything downtown Memphis has to offer, including the famous Beal St, The Orpheum Theater, FedEx Arena, Dozens of Restaurants & Bars, and The National Civil Rights Museum.
Your apartment has digital door locks so you can check in on your own! So meeting you there in person won't be necessary but we will be available 24/7 if you need anything at all just send us a quick message!
Your apartment is located right next to everything! Out front of the historic Ambassador hotel, you'll see the trolley passing by on a regular basis on S. Main street where many fantastic dining and entertainment options are located (including "South on Beale" the restaurant on the first floor of your building! No car necessary here (although you will have a dedicated parking place). You can walk across the street and catch some live music or walk a couple of minutes more and find yourself on the famous Beale St!
Hop on the trolley out the front door of your building, rent a bike or scooter from across the street, grab an Uber, or... if you are feeling adventurous, take a seat on one of the horse carriages that pass by regularly! Plenty of transportation options at your fingertips and a short uber ride to the airport (~15 min)
***Other things to note: We are right above SOB Restaurant and there will be noise that's noticeable during their normal hours of operation of 11am-9pm (10pm on weekends). We feel the convenience and fun nightlife energy just adds to the experience, but if you need more peace and quite...just make sure you reserve a room on the 3rd floor (units 301-305). Refunds will not be given due to noise level in apartment, rent at your own risk...but trust us, you will love it!

1. Cancellation Policy for Direct Booking Long-Term Reservations (30 days or more): ā For reservations of 30 days or longer, a separate cancellation policy applies: ā Guests will receive a full refund if they cancel at least 30 days before the scheduled check-in date. ā A 50% refund will be issued for cancellations made between 14 and 29 days prior to the scheduled check-in date. ā No refund will be provided for cancellations made 13 days or fewer before the scheduled check-in date.
2. Upon booking, you will receive a rental agreement/check-in form that you are required to sign and return before your arrival
3. If you are a local resident, you must contact us before booking
4. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; sound will travel through the walls if too loud.
5. No parties or events allowed
6. Guest must provide us with a valid ID that matches their credit card information
7. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible
8. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no "smoking" includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and "use of fire" includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed
9. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund
10. Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 11:00 am. We're sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them
11. We will place a small deposit hold on your credit card 2 days before your arrival to cover any accidental property damage that may occur and it will be released after your check out. If we fail to capture your security deposit, your reservation will automatically be cancelled
12. We would like to inform you that for direct bookings, a 4% credit card fee will be applied to any cancellations and refunds and we will follow the platform's cancellation policy
13. Guests who make reservations for over 30 days must sign our standard lease agreement and agree to a background check before check-in (it will be provided before check-in)
14. As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property
15. The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be deducted from your security deposit
16. No pets allowed
17. Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos
18. For your security and protection the property is equipped with an exterior camera
19. Remember to take all your belongings when checking out. Left something? There's a $75 Mailing Fee (not including postage). We aim to return items within 7-10 business days, but please bear with us during busy times. Thanks for understanding!
20. For security reasons, NO food or package deliveries inside our gated complexes or internal buildings. Please meet them outside the buildings or gates.
21. If not following any of our rules forces us to refund or discount an upcoming or existing guest you will be liable for the costs
22. If you were a previous/current guest and did not respect our house rules and our property, we have the right to decline your next reservation. Thank you for understanding
This was a lovely location. The apartment was perfect for 2 people. It is centrally located to everything we came to Memphis to do. The property manager was outstanding in his service. Planned to stay here again on our next trip to Memphis.
We stayed at this property for a long weekend get away . Highly recommend staying here - great communciation with owner , great location with so much to walk to from Beale to many restaurants , the property was comfortable & clean . Will stay here again if we come back to Memphis !!!!!
The apartment was lovely, very clean and comfortable. It was in a perfect location for seeing Memphis sites and close to many restaurants---all within walking distance. We were able to walk to Beale Street to enjoy blues and music, the Civil Rights Museum, the Riverwalk, and was a short drive to Graceland. Parking was off street with a parking place devoted to our apartment only. Tim, our host, arranged for an easy check-in and out and provided recommendations for restaurants and information for sites to see. He was very warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful time.
The space is bright, newer remodeling, and has a nice firm bed. The 2nd floor was noisy with a compressor going on and off every 5 minutes. Tim's asst moved us up to the 3rd floor and we did not hear this kitchen noise any longer.
Beautiful property, clean, easy access to a lot of downtown Memphis attractions. Took in the local cupcake shop, coffee shops, yoga studio, and restaurants. The National Civil Rights Museum is just a few blocks away as well as Beale Street. The upstairs apartment was a little loud and we could hear the restaurant downstairs but both were quiet by about 10. Highly recommended!
This apartment was great so was contract with the host. It felt very safe walking to Beale Street, restaurants and many local attractions. The trolley runs right in front of the building but Uber and Lift was available for our trip to Graceland and the airport. We really enjoyed our stay there.
This property is about 3 or 4 blocks off of Beale street and right in the middle of some of our favorite spots downtown (SOB, Slider Inn, Old Dominickās, Birdies, and more)! Was able to pick up a cigar on the way to Beale street, had breakfast at the Arcade Restaurant, stopped by the National Civil Rights museum, got my favorite dry rub wings at central BBQ, and drove or had to Uber. Communication was great. Getting in and out was easy. And the price was better than staying in a hotel downtown. Condo was clean, bed and pillows were comfy. Weāll definitely stay for our next staycation!

It is an excellent property.
My husband and I stayed a long weekend at South Main. It was cute and welcoming. Walking to almost everything we wanted to see was easy from this location. Small shops, food, music were all nearby. It was a comfortable place to stay after a day of sight seeing.
cannot beat the location and included parking, and cleanliness. Room 205 is above the walk in freezer and/or some other large piece of equipment in the below restaurant. The issue is not the disclosed noise from an operating restaurant, which closes and becomes quiet, it is about a poorly operating large compressor or pump right under the bedroom. This noise starts around 11pm and continues all night, every 2 minutes a large motor tries to turn on and fails. We could not sleep for our 2 night stay and were very happy to leave. The email provided is not the owner, it is responded to by more than one person, none of which seemed to understand the issue. They never came by to hear the described noise, nor pick up a gold chain I told them about which was left behind by the previous renter. This must be a large corporate vrbo run organization. I would say, stay away from 205 and you will be ok. Also, when booking, it put us unknowingly on the 3rd floor, no elevator, which I imagine is the floor hardest to rent. to change, it took paying for a new 2nd floor room and waiting close to a week for the refund. Also, you have to complete a large document with all types of personal info which then has to be executed with Docusign. We booked thru the VRBO portal.
It was the perfect location for everything downtown. Host was accurate about the noise level (and not so much from the restaurant downstairs) but to the closeness of Main Street! Apartment was exactly as pictured! Definitely recommend!
This property is in a prime location just 5-10 minutes walk to Beale Street, Fed Ex Forum, and more. The trolley car is right out front as well as parking. Very quiet, and convenient location for food, drinks, and more. The apartment was clean many amenities, and comforts provided by the host. Great stay overall and the convince you can't beat.
My 13 year old son and I had a bonding experience in Memphis with all it has to offer. From the location of the apartment to everything is fantastic. Iād love to come back with my entire family soon. We are a family of 5 so we would need a bigger space but Iām sure you could accommodate:)
Committed parking space. Walkable restaurants and coffee shops. Homey apartment. Only downside, NOISY upstairs people (dragging chairs across the floor and frequently stomping around) second and third nights.
This apartment was absolutely ideal. It was easy to find, easy to access, and the location cannot be beat. Also, a massive thank you to Tim and his team for sending so many recommendations for things to see and eat while in town. We would definitely stay again!
