Welcome to the home page for Hillside Retreat in Middle Tennessee
This is a No Smoking property.
Looking for a quiet retreat away from the city sounds and lights? Our Cape-Cod style house which sleeps 11-12 is on a small family farm, situated on a hillside with lovely views of the fields and valley below. We are surrounded by woods on a paved road on the Three-Rivers Quilt Trail. Also nearby you will find Kentucky Lake recreation area and Johnsonville State Historic Area.
This home is in Middle Tennessee close to Loretta Lynn's ranch and NALTC (North American Lineman's Training Center). It is one hour west of Nashville, 45 minutes from Camden, and 45 minutes from Clarksville.
We are two miles from the city of McEwen, where the world-famous St. Patrick's Irish Picnic has been held for the past 170 years!! the oldest running outdoor barbecue picnic celebration in the country which takes place once per year the last weekend in July.
As mentioned earlier, NATLC - the home is located just 5 miles from North American Lineman's Training Center, in McEwen, TN. This makes it a convenient location for families attending a student's graduation. Small gatherings are permitted for this event. We have hosted several families for a family member’s graduation in the past.
There are other things of interest nearby, a few are listed below:
Loretta Lynn Ranch - Jeep Jam, Motocross, Trail Jam and concerts among their annual spring-through-fall calendar. See full listing of events here:

There is nature all around and includes wildflowers, mushrooms, trees, and great birdwatching. You will hear frogs in the evening in our small pond behind the house, which we keep gated, but you are welcome to explore. We also have three Mediterranean donkeys in the field below, who love visits and being petted or brushed, also in another gated field.
Area Notes: As stated above, we are nestled in a rural, wooded area, on a small farm. Be aware there are wildlife and insects all around. While we work hard to keep the insects outside (we conduct quarterly treatments), you may from time to time, see insects inside the home. This is to be expected due to our location. If you book with us, and then experience inside insects, you may contact us to come and spray during your visit. We adhere strictly to the VRBO cancelation policy which you can find on the reservations page.
NUMBER OF GUESTS
