Quel bonheur de passer une nuit dans la Chiesetta ( la petite église) .. une chambre atypique! Un petit déjeuner super complet ! Un accueil charmant ! La possibilité qu’on s’occupe de sa voiture (15€) , et situé au milieu des Sassi ! Génial

Authentique et romantique
Un superbe environnement, la chambre/appartement, située au cœur même de la vieille ville, est confortable et pratique (ustensiles et déjeuners compris). Le personnel est sympathique et serviable. Preparez-vous à marcher car le parking est situé à 10 Minutes de marche (à l’exterieur de la vieille ville).

Très bonne surprise à Matera
Avons passé une nuit à Matera. Les chambres de l'hôtel paraissent être en fait de petits appartements disséminés dans des maisons traditionnelles du "sassi", ce qui leur donne beaucoup de caractère et de charme. Le notre était très spacieux, aménagé avec goût. Nous avons voyagé avec une voiture et le parking n'a pas été un problème.

Posto magico!
Accoglienza perfetta, massima disponibilità alle esigenze del cliente. Posto ottimamente situato, al centro del sasso Barisano ma in posizione silenziosa. Appartamento proprio all'interno di un antico sasso ma perfettamente confortevole e molto ampio, dotato di ogni comfort: cucina, zone notte separate per 4 persone, terrazzo con vista sulla città. Atmosfere, ambienti e particolari di arredo della vecchia Matera per un'immersione nella storia della città. E, dulcis in fundo, sottostante l'edificio trovate un museo privato: un antico ipogeo con chiesa rupestre e reperti di varie epoche. Provare per credere, non ve ne pentirete!

Esperienza Eccellente
Tralasciando la Magnifica Matera, il soggiorno nella splendida stanza-grotta offerta dall'hotel San Giorgio valeva di per sé l'intero weekend. La cortesia del personale, la pulizia e l'atmosfera della camera hanno reso la nostra permanenza un'esperienza unica. La colazione ricca di prodotti locali (senza esclusione del tipico pane materano) fatta in modalità self-service nella piccola ma attrezzatissima cucina permette di godere di un risveglio tranquillo e rilassato come dovrebbe essere nel rispetto dell'antica città. La bellezza e il comfort della camera li lascio immaginare a voi dalla foto allegata come anche la grandezza della doccia. Unica nota, preparatevi a qualche scalino a piedi per raggiungere la camera ma d'altronde, se state visitando Matera, siete già più che preparati per questo.

Ottima esperienza
Esperienza positiva, la stanza era quella standard, a circa 300 metri dalla hall, ma che aveva la disponibilità di un piano cottura che ti permetteva di potere liberamente cucinare per proprio conto. Ogni giorno veniva integrata la colazione, che comprendeva sia frutta sia qualcosa di salato, sia confetture, Nutella, fette biscottate e dolci tipici locali. Questa stanza aveva un bagno con doccia, asciugacapelli ed all'arrivo era compreso un set di cortesia che comprendeva accappatoio e ciabatte. Ottima esperienza.

Come avete sicuramente notato, la vostra camera era nel cuore dei Sassi, proprio sotto piazza del Sedile, un punto strategico per spostarsi in agilità tra i quartieri. The architectural features of this ample suite for three or four was tastefully furnished, the kitchen was well equipped, the set up for breakfast was a welcome amenity, and the view of Matera from outside the suite was amazing. The proximity of the intriguing and ancient space just outside the kitchen window, where olive oil is currently stored, was a feature that makes this suite in the Sassi all the more unique. I'd return to San Giorgio to stay any time.

Highly recommend.
Just an overnight but a really delightful room in a superb location. Very helpful staff assisted with parking as well which you need to plan for as it’s in the restricted area. We wish could have stayed longer.

Perhaps I expected something more cavelike. A large space with a dated looking kitchenette in contrast with a lovely bathroom. Suggest better bedding to fluff things up. It’s a room in an awesome location.

People watching and comfort in a sublime setting
Oh my word: this place is amazing! We were traveling in Italy and decided to change our destination to Matera because it was the only place we could get to conveniently where it wasn't cold and rainy. We had no idea how beautiful the city would be, and how this hotel residence would just make the trip for us. It has a balcony with a table and two chairs--perfect for taking in the scenery with your sweetheart and having a meal or glass of coffee or wine. The bed was comfortable and there was even a kitchen. We decided to cook dinner and stay in because we wanted to sit on the balcony until dark. It's a restored building in the Sassi and it's absolutely beautiful. My only suggestion would be for the hosts to stock us with salt and pepper, since they thought of everything else. This is a place not to miss!

A most perfect stay at Hotel Residence San Giorgio
This perfectly situated and sympathetically renovated self-contained studio apartment in Sasso Barisano is both beautiful and comfortable and provides all the amenities and comfort a guest would need. Breakfast was ample. Check in with English speaking staff was swift and friendly with maps and advice on good restaurants given. Contact was made unprompted prior to arrival with information on parking facilities and directions. It snowed heavily and taxi arrangement was offered, again unprompted. Matera was stunning under the snow and the stay at this wonderful hotel and its thoughtful staff made everything perfect. I would not hesitate to stay at Hotel San Giorgio again should I come back to Matera.

Cozy apartment with a great location. Reception folks were extremely helpful. We needed a unit close to reception because of physical restrictions and they accommodated us. An abundance of food was left in the room for our breakfast and snacking.

Worth the extra money
This place was AMAZING. The location is fabulous, and so is the town itself. The room is part of a restored residence, so it is in a rock cave, which is fascinating, beautiful, and interesting. The room was spacious, the breakfast was great, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was large with strong water flow. The only draw backs are parking, which is likely a problem everywhere. There was a 15 euros fee for valet parking, which is less than we've had to pay at downtown hotels in the US. You also had to drag your luggage uphill for about 120 meters, so if you pack light, it is better. For us, we had two large suitcases so it was harder. The host did drag one of the suitcases for us.

Fantastic location in the 'Sassi' historic centre.
Spacious self contained appartment but in a hotel bed and breakfast environment. Ideal for 2 persons but catered for 4 persons with sofa bed in large lounge with balcony. Excellent couple who own and run it all with great communication and easy, efficient parking service and hotel access.

Soggiorno a Matera in sistemazione ideale
Soggiorno purtroppo breve ma in sistemazione ideale. Stanza suggestiva in zona Sassi, perfettamente ristrutturata, confortevole e ben attrezzata per colazione la mattina. Servizio impeccabile da parte dei gestori sul piano dell'informazione, dell'organizzazione parcheggio e della cortesia. Un hotel in cui tornerò.

Meu quarto era confortável , distante 100 mts da recepção , mas eu sabia disso. Portanto deve levar uma mala apenas, e não muito pesada. Localização excelente. Os quartos de caverna não possuem janelas, portanto, observe ao reservar se tiver problemas com claustrofobia, existem quartos com janelas mas não são cavernas originais.

Well placed hotel
Great location in Matera with a choice of restaurants and bars along the street and well placed for exploring the sites of the town. Our room was spotlessly clean with a large choice of items for breakfast in your room so no need to fit in with hotel breakfast serving times. Hotel staff were very friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

Bella stanza in posizione centrale, manca solo qualche gancio in bagno per poter appendere gli asciugamani o il Beauty, per il resto tutto bene. Personale cortese e disponibile soprattutto nella persona di Benny.

次回は連泊したい
洗練された洞窟ホテル。お部屋もテラスも快適でした。キチネットもついているし、独立したアパートのように自由に過ごせるのが何より気に入りました。 レセプションからアパートは別の場所にあり階段含めて結構歩くので、 荷物が多いと難儀でしょう。 朝食も買い置き方式なので致し方ないとはいえ、少々物足りないです(質的に)。朝、工事のガガガ音で7時に叩き起こされたのにも参りました。 しかしそういうあれこれを補って余りあるホテルです。次回は連泊したいです。 レセプショ二ストは英語力によるのかバラつきがありますが、幸いチェックイン時の男性はいろいろと見るべきものなど有益な助言をくれました。部屋の中の説明も読みでがあり、大変参考になります。とても印象に残る滞在でした。

室内の真下は教会の跡
レセプションから部屋までは階段ありの登り坂を進むので、スーツケースはしんどかったですが、ホテルの方が持ってくれました。ドゥオーモから近くて、マテーラの絶景ポイントから昼間、夕暮れ、夜景、朝日と時間を変えて見学できました。また、泊まった部屋のキッチンの窓から古い教会の跡が見学でき、実際に中に入ることもできます なんだか、神聖な場所に泊めてもらえた感じで、すごく良い経験でした。室内も快適でした
