Situated on a secluded bluff at the foot of Neahkahnie Mountain, you will find this peaceful retreat still filled with the original charm of bygone days. Discover your private half-acre grounds with manicured landscaping and if you feel adventurous, a tire swing in the yard. It's just this kind of charm and privacy that once attracted Carol Channing for an extended stay.

The majestic setting of this home overlooking the ocean still leaves you only a short five-minute walk to the renowned Manzanita beach with its wide sweeping sandy beach and dunes. If you want to take a trip back in time, this house is for you.

Exterior:
The classic mid-century courtyard will greet you with beautiful vegetation and a large slate stone patio.
Multi-level manicured estate grounds surround this home for your outdoor enjoyment. Two additional patios for tea or coffee gatherings - South and North.
Front and center, facing the ocean you will find an elegant deck for relaxation and reflection.
Overall on the grounds of this home, you will find stunning views with the sound of the waves crashing below.

Interior:
The home is decorated in the mid-century style with modern comfortable furniture and classic fixtures.
Two huge wood fireplaces are at your disposal for crackling wood fires to cuddle up and read your favorite book or play a game with others from the home's fully stocked game selection.

Almost EVERY room in this home has sweeping ocean views if a storm forces you inside.

Newly remodeled daylight basement, with yet another stunning view of Neahkahnie, offers a pool table, 65-inch flat screen TV, lounge and coffee table, bunks for four guests, wood-burning fireplace, and pool table.

The classic mid-century sleeping wing offers peaceful, spacious accommodations for rest and relaxation, day or night. The primary king suite features a newly remodeled bathroom with a heated floor, stylish vanity, and a large closet—blending comfort with a touch of retro charm. Two queen bedrooms share a convenient Jack-and-Jill bathroom, perfect for families or couples traveling together. Every bathroom in this thoughtfully updated home has been beautifully remodeled with great attention to detail.

Spacious, fully stocked kitchen and breakfast nook with period cabinets and fixtures is at your call for meals.

A fourth bedroom on the main floor doubles as a lounge with flat screen TV and new, comfortable queen pull out couch with gel mattress is available for a movie or reading.

- We allow service animals at this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.

Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce it. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

This is a beautifully landscaped property and well-kept mid-century modern home. Best supplied kitchen we have ever found, tasteful artwork, great bedroom arrangement plus plenty of living space. Adults loved it that the TV was in the basement - NOT the living room. Well stocked game and puzzle cupboard. Though it was a short hike to the beach and required a short drive into town for groceries, we all found this property to be nearly perfect for our family of 13 - from just turned one year to almost 70. Pricey, but, in this case, absolutely worth it. We certainly got what we paid for!

The Purcell House has one of the most gorgeous views on the Oregon Coast! The house is comfortable and well equipped; the yard is large and great for games and the beach is just down the road. It was the perfect setting for our family get together.

This is an amazing property with spectacular views! We enjoyed the coziness of the house, location, and the great updates to it. Master is beautiful with the two balconies. Highly recommend. The only problem is you will miss the view terribly after you leave! :-)

Upon entering this home, we were awestruck that we were going to be able to enjoy it for our 10 days. The deck affords views of the beach, ocean, and sunsets. The home was comfortable and we felt like royalty to be able to stay here. That table in the feature photo was a favorite place to sit for games, sipping a beverage, and views. We loved our stay.

I arrived to find the Purcell house in perfectly clean order. As someone who loves to cook and with so much fresh seafood, cooking at the home everyday was a perfect option. Lots of clean pots, pans, utensils, and even some solid kitchen tools were at my disposal. My main picture window had some heavy sea spray which upon request they came out and cleaned within a few hours. The home was probably stunning when it was constructed in 1950, it’s dated in a charming way so be prepared for that, however it’s worth the price, you’ll not be disappointed. The living room view its like nothing you’ve ever seen.

The pictures make this house look amazing, in reality this house is a dream. From the location to the furniture, the views and the amenities- this house cannot be beat. For a large group, there is plenty of room to have your “space”. For smaller groups it has its intimate settings for relaxation and family time. Sterling Cooper would boastfully call this place home. We are definitely planning our return visit.

Beautiful mid-century house with ocean views from every room. The first half of our trip was rainy and gray but the views were still gorgeous. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Bathrooms were probably the most worn down but they were clean. Management was responsive, quick, and friendly.

The house was very neat and orderly.. We needed a few essentials which we bought and left for the next guest. The views and sounds of ocean were wonderful. All the lawns/land surrounding the house was wonderful.. no cramped in feeling. Loved the deer in the morning and the sunsets at night. We all loved it and want to return.

The views are even better in person. Easy arrival and check out. Manzanita is a great quiet little town just south of some amazing hiking tails and look outs in Oswald West State Park. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for sharing.
