YOU ARE RENTING THE DOWNSTAIRS at Qualla Cabin, which is located in a secluded mountain area just west of the town of Maggie Valley, on the border of the Cherokee Reservation. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is minutes away, for unlimited mountain cruising and hiking in the Great Smoky National Park. Maggie Valley offers Cataloochee Ski Lodge, Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum, snow tubing, a variety of restaurants and pubs, and shopping. Visit the casino in Cherokee, or head to Asheville for the day. Enjoy long-range mountain vistas from the comfort of the full-length, ground-level deck while sipping your favorite beverage. Watch and listen to abundant bird life. It's not uncommon to catch a glimpse of elk or black bears that share the mountain with us. Hummingbirds flit from feeder to feeder, as do Golden finches, Nuthatches, Cardinals, Bluebirds and the Tufted Titmouse . You won't want to miss the spectacular sunsets on display nightly, or watch storms roll in through the valley. There is a lot to do if you choose, but it's also the perfect place to slow down and just breathe!
Had a great time. Place was very clean and well stocked. Views were awesome. Spent lots of time on the porch enjoying the mountains. Hosts Capt. Tony and his wife Nancy are very friendly and great hosts.
Our anniversary getaway at Captain Tony and Nancy's beautiful mountain home was everything we could have hoped for and more.Their place was spotless, cozy, and so thoughtfully prepared-it instantly felt like a home away from home. We loved every moment, from peaceful walks along the Oconaluftee River and relaxing time at Lake Junaluska, to exploring the charm of downtown Waynesville with its great food and local shops. It was the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and small-town magic. We're already looking forward to our next trip back to this wonderful state filled with kind-hearted people
The cabin was great as were the hosts. Everything was clean, private, and well maintained. The hosts went above and beyond for us. We had to find a place quickly because my husbandâs brother took a turn for the worse and we got there just in time to say goodbye. Capt. Tony bought a sympathy card and treats for my pups. The special little touches like fresh flowers in the kitchen, bathroom, and front porch made it welcoming and homey. He was very helpful with restaurant advice and things to do that I hope to one day be able to do. The reason for the visit was the only downside.
This place was the cleanest and nicest place weâve stayed at. Capt Tony and Nancy are two of the nicest people youâll meet. The view from the cabin and property was absolutely stunning. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was all we had hoped for and more. We will definitely be back!
They were very friendly and inviting people. They did their best to accomodate all of our needs. We will tell all of our friends to check this place out. Secluded and quiet. Just what we were looking for. You cant ask for better hosts.
We had a great overall experience, âdandyâ in the words of my wife! The property was clean and the hosts were friendly and very communicative. There are excellent views and it is in a good location relative to places like Asheville, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee, Waynesville, and more! The only real downside to the property is the road up to the house. The last mile and a half or so is unpaved and fairly loose. If you have an SUV or truck it will not be an issue. Anyone with a smaller two wheel drive car May struggle on the road, especially in bad weather. Overall great stay!
Qualla Cabin was a cozy stay central to several Smokey Mountain towns. Each day we were able to drive s somewhere new. We enjoyed hiking, shopping, local festivals and great food.
Captain Tony and Nancy are exceptional and highly attentive hosts. This is our second visit as we enjoyed our stay from last year so much. The property is very comfortable, has all the amenities, and the mountain views are magnificent. Captain Tony is extremely helpful, offering great recommendations for both dining out and sightseeing. We brought our dog, Sophie, and Tony gave us good recommendations for hikes and restaurants that allowed us to include her. Tony and his wife, Nancy, are incredibly gracious, and words canât fully capture just how wonderful they are.
The sunset is amazing i think my wife took 300 pictures everything was just perfect to the bedroom to kitchen to the bathroom everything extra clean and tidy Capt Tony made sure we felt right at home quiet and peaceful will be retuning soon !!
My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to our favorite place Maggie Valley this past week. Captain Tony and Nancy made it happen at the last minute and are wonderful host! The place has the most amazing views, was very clean and had everything we needed. I did not want to go home! We will definitely be back!
What an amazing place to stay! Can't recommend it enough, both for the location as well as the wonderful hosts. This was the best VRBO I have ever had and will certainly be back when in the Smokies.
We had a wonderful stay at Captain Tony and Nancy's place! What an absolutely wonderful place ! If you are going to visit the Smoky Moutains and are looking for a place remote, but not too much, with a homy feeling, this place is for you. t
Tony and Nancy were amazing. Their cabin came with such an unexpected spectacular view. They were both so hospitable. The cabin itself was beautiful clean and equipped with anything you could need. and an extra thanks to them for accommodating my two senior dogs. They made our trip perfection we did not need or want for anything, and I cannot say enough about their hospitality. there was even a birthday card waiting for me when I arrived, if you want a peaceful beautiful, stay in the mountains with spectacular views donât pass this one by this place was simply heaven to me and my husband and we will definitely be back đ thank you Tony and Nancy for an amazing stayâ„ïž
On the back side of Paradise and the foot of Heaven, you will find QUALLA CABIN! This was our second stay at Qualla and it was even better than the first, which was absolutely perfect! Capt. Tony and Nancy are incredible hosts and even better people who will make sure you want or need for nothing during your visit! The Cabin is perfectly secluded up in the mountains and travel to and from town is very easy. Without question, we will be back for a third time ASAP! If youâre looking for an amazing place to stay and enjoy yourself while in the mountains, THIS IS THE ONE!!

Qualla Cabin is a hidden gem with a million dollar view. You can sit on the back patio and watch the sun rise and the sunset. Tony & Nancy are great hosts and make you feel very welcome. Qualla sits on the side of a mountain over looking the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is perfect for your next vacation in the mountains.

We were in for a long weekend getaway. The cabin was beautiful! It was clean and beautifully decorated. New appliances in the kitchen; a beautiful live edge countertop in the bathroom and a great gas heater in the living space. The cabin was well stocked. Books and games are available when you return back in from your sight seeing adventures. A warm shower with strong water pressure is a great end to a fun-filled day! Nice, comfortable bed and plenty of pillows gets you ready for a new adventure the next day. I would highly recommend a stay at Qualla Cabin.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Quallah Cabin with Capt. Tony and his wife, Nancy. Communication with the hosts was very clear and prompt. Getting to the cabin was easy, and we were able to take a route up the mountain that did not need 4-wheel drive.
Inside, the cabin was very quiet and private feeling. The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook an easy meal and it was very well organized. I appreciated that they provided some decaf coffee packets.
The view from the cabin was phenomenal and we enjoyed watching the sunset each evening. They had a nice porch with rocking chairs and a swing, and we were able to watch the birds on their bird feeder! Definitely a 5-star accommodation!
Captain Tony and Nancy were incredible hosts. The cabin was not only clean, but well crafted and maintained. Not your typical vacation rental! This felt like you were staying at a luxury cabin. The view was đ. Ample outdoor area and a cozy interior. Nice linens. We would loved to return and hang out with our hosts more but itâs a ten-hour drive. We wonât forget our visit.
Very nice cabin with great woodworking and stonework.
Everything you will need to enjoy your stay has been included in the cabin. The back porch view is absolutely amazing! Very close to many wonderful locations and attractions. Tony and Nancy were great hosts and will be able to help you with any activities or sites you might want to see. Just a few that we really enjoyed: Walking around Cherokee, Elk Herd @ Oconaluftee, Barber Orchid, Waynesville, Maggie Valley and of course the Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery! Great cabin, great time in the area. Highly recommend to others
Captain Tony was very attentive. The property was super clean and cozy. My wife and I along with our pup stayed for three nights while visiting friends in Waynesville. The views from the property are spectacular and the location is secluded. I loved the location, but I would caution those without four wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles. We have a pickup and had no issues, but it could be tricky for a rear wheel drive only vehicle. All in all a great trip!
Captain Tony, property manager, is amazing! Went out of his way to make sure my handicapped husband had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody.
Beautiful views! Beautiful accommodations! Our host actually repaired our flat tire. He took control and put our worries to rest. We couldnât ask for a better host. On a scale of 1 to ten we give it an 11.
Property is immaculate and the views from the porch are amazing. The owners are very nice with great recommendations on adventures available in the area. We visit the Maggie Valley area several times a year and they told us about nearby areas that we never knew about. Will definitely be staying there again.
Location is great for heading to Cherokee, NC or the opposite way to Maggie Valley/ Waynesville. Also, cabin is right by Blue Ridge Parkway entrance.
