Many of the reviews seemed quite negative, and we were initially hesitant at staying, but were very pleasantly surprised with what we got. We had a family room, which was large and spacious, and it was very clean and well appointed. Yes, the venue is old, but it is clean, everything works as expected, the internet was okay, and it is definitely worth the money spent. It's one of the cheaper venues in the Barossa, and I believe it is better quality than some of the more expensive places we've stayed. Lyndoch is walking distance (about 20 mins walk), and the grounds were also very nice to walk around. We were happy, and would definitely stay again.

Size of room,quietness of surrounds. Didnt like the early morning noise of someone banging a lid or bin at 6am every morning,thats what it sounded like anyway. Shame the Chateau wasn't opened everyday,& closure of the resturant at Lyndoch. This could be a fabulous resort if the right Investor buys. & the highlight of the Barossa..

This is a very special place and quite unique. Set up on a hill surrounded by rose gardens. In built white wooden furniture and roomy bath room with walk in shower. Small rear balcony looking out to the garden. Historical museum and gallery also on premises

Unfortunately this hotel has been let go , the restaurant i believe is closed and the rooms balcony are not safe structurally with rotting wood on the ceiling - a piece fell on my partner. Rooms were clean and reception was friendly but we wouldn't recommended.

The photos are very deceiving. The photos look 4 stars. But the rooms are 2 stars if that. Very run down and old. Tv works but the remote control battery lid is held down with tape. Dust on the skirting board and cob web from hanging from ceiling. Restaurant is closed and apparently has been for months. The walls are thin ans i can hear next doors people talking and showering. Very disappointed. A horrible stay.

The photos are a lie. Mould in the shower. Needs painting, balconies unsafe, old carpet, light didnt work, bed squeaks and mattress needs replacing. So run down. Totally disappointed. We had a garden view room!! The gardens are so run down and terrible. Its a shame because with some refurbishments it could be a gold mine. Will never go back and definitely NOT RECOMMEND

The garden around the accommodation was amazing even though it was unkept. This place is for sale and it very rundown. Really the accomodation should probably be bulldozed or have an enormous amount of money spent on bringing it back to life.

I was disappointed. The pictures on the website were nothing like the tired, old room we stayed in. The gardens were nice, but we weren’t staying in the garden. I chose this accommodation because of the photos inside the rooms.

Lyndoch Hill is a really beautiful place. The gardens are truly like a botanical gardens with so many places to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, including your own private balcony. The room was quite nice and overall I had a very enjoyable stay. It is the second time I have stayed there and will definitely book again!!

In it's day this would have been wonderful but sadly like many other establishments Covid has had a huge impact. Such a shame. Needs lots of tlc and a massive injection of $$. Sorry for such a negative review. Wishing you could find an investor could help you out.

Overall the room was dirty, falling apart and very sparse. No carpet which made the room very cold. Fridge was dirty. Cups etc were filthy, bathroom full of mould, cracked basin, toilet stained, shower leaked very badly so we had to listen to dripping water all night. Bed was smelly and very uncomfortable. TV remote didnt work with batteries held in place with tape. Blinds didnt cover windows properly so no privacy whatsoever. Balcony lattice on one side missing with a piece of wood sticking out - very dangerous! The kicker was being told at check in that we would be charged $200 cleaning fee if we left any mud in the room! Yes it was cheap but the photos used online are absolutely nothing like the rooms at all. The rooms have not been touched in decades apart from some very poor painting and to rip up the old carpet.
