Hôtel au grand calme!
Après un séjour compliqué au Caire et 10h30 éprouvantes de train, nous avons été chaleureusement accueilli à la gare par Mohamed qui nous attendait en voiture. Un thé offert dans la cours et quelques explications sur les "tours" proposés par l'hôtel nous décidons d'aller nous coucher. La chambre est simple mais possède tout le confort nécessaire. Ce n'est que le lendemain que nous avons réellement profité des services de l’hôtel en savourant le calme et le panorama de West Bank sur le toit-terrasse, face à la vallée des rois et une bière à la main. Le restaurant se trouve à 4-5 minutes à pied. La nourriture y est délicieuse et le patron très sympa. Vous pouvez faire le chemin seul sans crainte. L’hôtel propose une dizaine de "tours" à un prix très abordable. Vallée des rois, Karnak, musée, ballade, felucca, Montgolfière, et pleins d'autres (pas uniquement à Louxor d'ailleurs). Systématiquement un membre de l'équipe ou un taxi viendra vous chercher à l’hôtel si vous le souhaiter, vous déposera au site, et vous attendra pour rentrer à l’hôtel. Un hôtel vraiment agréable à 5 minutes de tous, et loin des milliers de touristes se trouvant sur Est Bank. Je recommande chaudement!

Very lovely staff, we asked them for lunch because we did not feel like going out to a restaurant and they made us a super delicious lunch for a cheap price. Super nice people! The neighborhood gives you a cultural feel where you can walk safely even in the evening and the location is very close to the nile.

The hotel itself, is beautiful. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and as you cannot drink tap water, this hotel never offered any and when I asked, they wanted to charge me US$1 for it when you can buy 3 big bottles for that price. I got it free anyway but this needs to be rectified. It is good enough for the budget traveler. The hotel is located on the West Side, so same side of 2 major attractions. Before booking this hotel, make sure that the tour operator (who happens to be located on the East side) will in fact drop you back to your hotel

This property is gorgeous!! We were picked up at the airport by Bakr and he was so polite and professional. He even took us on a quick local tour. We were constantly receiving incredible service. Coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner suggestions! I can not say enough good things about this property!

We had a comfortable stay at Alhambra hotel. Host Abu Bakar was courteous and friendly. He drove us to West and East bank locations and helped with getting good vegetarian food in nearby locations. Hotel provided awesome falafel during breakfast. The hotel wifi was weak, which was a slight inconvenience. Overall, great stay at Luxor.

A nice breather
Alhambra Hotel has a very unique and beautiful exterior that is reminiscent of a scene out of the Aladdin movie. It was pretty amazing. The interior is pretty outdated but it was clean and the multiple balconies in the unit were a plus. The almost never-ending hot water was wonderful. The star of this hotel by far was the staff. The owner and the main receptionist were extremely helpful. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate us with some special requests for our baby, our laundry needs, and our check-out time. Much thanks to these gentlemen. We recommend!

В целом мы довольны проживанием. Очень удачно расположен вблизи от гробниц. Вкусный завтрак, компактный чистый номер. Не хватает чайника в номер, но чай приносят за отдельную плату. Было холодно (зима), кондиционер на обогрев не работал, но дали два запасных одеяла. Спать было комфортно. Прекрасный панорамный вид с крыши.

What a wonderful hotel and staff! My family and I thoroughly loved our stay at Alhambra Hotel - great location, ambience, and an amazing customer service. And can't forget the breakfast made to order every morning. Abu Bakr the hotel Manager is an awesome person who took care of our needs going above and beyond, including making errands. We asked Alhambra to pick us up from Luxor airport which helped us avoid any hassles in a new place. The charge for transportation was extremely reasonable. Our whole experience in Luxor was pleasant and memorable; the stay at Alhambra was a big part of it. My family and I look forward to going back to Luxor again and we will definitely choose Alhambra Hotel for our stay.

Einfaches Hotel, aber mit gutem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Saubere Zimmer. Gute, feste Matratzen und vernünftige Kopfkissen (selbst bei guten Hotels habe ich hier schon Reinfälle erlebt). Dusche etwas klein aber ausreichend. Probleme mit Heißwasser o.ä. hat es bei mir nicht gegeben. Handtuchwechsel jeden oder jeden 2.ten Tag. Fast alle Zimmer zum Innenhof, was aber kein Nachteil ist. So was findet man auch nicht in jedem Hotel, im Sommer bestimmt angenehm zum Sitzen. Schöne Dachterrasse. In einer ruhigen Seitenstraße gelegen, man kann dem Lärm des ägyptischen Alltags schnell entfliehen. Frühstück einfach aber ausreichend: Kleines Omelett, Falafel, Bohnen, ägyptisches Brot, Marmelade, Käse, etwas Tomate und Gurke, kleine Banane, Kaffee oder Tee. Leider kein Saft. Mohammed ist ein freundlicher Gastgeber, der sich gerne unterhält. Nur morgens braucht er ein wenig Zeit um „warmzulaufen“, also ein wenig Nachsicht üben 😊. Das ganze Personal ist superfreundlich. Nachts wacht ein freundlicher Nachtwächter über das Hotel. Ich würde wieder buchen.

Got off on the wrong foot, but made up for it
We got off on the wrong foot, but the staff made up for it over our entire stay. As soon as we got there, the staff was not very welcoming, we understand a little bit of Arabic so we could understand some of the negative things the staff were saying about us. We simply wanted good prices on daily cars to tour the local tour spots. We ordered our 4 nights through Hotels.com with breakfast included, but staff said breakfast was not included. Had to call Hotels.com to clear the issue. Turns out breakfast was included, but staff made it seem like they were doing us a favor by serving us breakfast, even though we had paid for it. There are many things for breakfast, but everything is cold. There was a hair in some of our food and the egg was slimy. This was like a cheap $17 hotel though, so what do you really expect? You get what you pay for. Across the street is the Cleopatra hotel, we inquired about their prices, which are similar to Alhambra, just a little more expensive, but they were very friendly and welcoming there, so we ate our meals there at Cleopatra. Alhambra staff did try to make up for this initial unwelcome feeling though, throughout the rest of our stay, and we were satisfied enough with our stay, but would not choose to go to this place again. Instead, we'd go to Cleopatra across the street. Additionally, we did not see any other people staying at this hotel. It is a huge hotel with many rooms, but we were the only ones there throughout 4 days.

The hotel building is very beautiful, has a bit of Moorish feeling. The rooms are nicely decorated. The experience is this very different from staying in a modern hotel. The location is a very small village but it is 5 min walk to Nile where you can take a ferry to Luxor temple which takes 5 min as it's just across the river. There are nice restaurants nearby. It's very peaceful you can hear birds chirping in the morning. It has a nice terrace which offers a view of the valley of the kings looks really nice in the evening. The staff was extremely friendly. All this at a very good price.

Good for the price.
Quit place, lovely small restaurant around. Wi-fi was bit horrible, and the shower doesn't allow warm water for 2 people, water is cold after less than 1 minute and very small. room wasn't cleaned daily, we also only received half a roll of toilet paper and had to go out an buy our own. we skipped breakfast after first day as it was only an egg and beans. also very cold at night - not enough blankets and aircon/heater unit didn't work. Overall not bad for the price! and easily accessible to the ferry jetty!

Charming hotel
Nice hotel. The manager was very friendly and helped us with a tour. For service, I would have rated higher however the staff did knock very loudly on our door when we had the flu. The manager was apologetic. But overall they were willing to help answer questions. The hotel has charm and was clean which is a priority.

Hotel is situated in a local neibourhood. Which is not very nice if you are thinking of walking around. Hotel itself looks OK from outside - rooms are spacious. Bed sheets were the worse possible as they were creating static electricity. Unless you don't use them of course.

Situado a 5min de la estación del ferry, en una zona tranquila y de camino a los monumentos a visitar. Muy buena atención. Instalaciones limpias, habitación amplia (tipo estudio) con nevera y aire acondiconado. Desayuno básico tipo egipcio.

Trip to Egypt
The hotel is just ok for the price. The staff is fine but the location is not very good as compared to other side of river. You need to ask the hotel staff to clean the room and change the sheets and towels. Overall, if you don’t mind little bit of surroundings and cleanness, the hotel is food for the price you pay.

Highly recommended
The hotel located on the Nile West Bank was an excellent choice for me. The owner and his friendly English speaking staff maintain the hotel in spotless condition. They made every effort to make my stay an enjoyable one. The ambiance was good and my room comfortable. There is a roof-top area in which to relax and enjoy the 360 degree view of the village and surrounding area. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk from the ferry. The ample breakfast was excellent and set one up for the day. The owner if required can arrange tours of the Luxor sites and for various sites up and down the river. I can highly recommend the hotel to anyone who wishes to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay on the west bank

Beautiful place!
This is a really nice hotel close to the Nile. It's a bit far from the monuments, but the staff is great about arranging rides to them.

Best quality on western bank and cheap!
I searched online for quite a while looking for a nice hotel on Luxor's west bank and came to the conclusion that Alhambra was it. This hotel is the cleanest and hands down the best hotel I stayed in during my 6 weeks in Egypt. The staff are very welcome and will bend over backwards to accomodate any of your requests. Honestly my stay in Egypt would have been so much more enjoyable if more hotels were like Alhambra. If you're looking for a very clean and nice place but are travelling on a budget, then you've found the place. You can bet that I will be back next summer!!

We have very good vocation when we stayed in Louxor, and happy lived in this hotel. The assistance was very nice and provide the any possible service as we requested.

No air, no wifi, no security
I was looking forward to checking in and checking out Luxor. Unfortunately, my short stay was one of my worst experiences during my trip to Egypt. My flight landed in Luxor around 11:15PM, and I made it to my hotel around 11:45PM after catching a cab and then taking the ferry over. Walking to the hotel feels a little sketch at night...it's very, very dark in the alleys on the way. But, I made it, and there was a man sleeping on the couch within the gate who immediately took me up to a room. Room #1- Air conditioner didn't work. He apologized and walked me upstairs to another room, where the air did turn on, but there was a twin bed (I paid for a double, but wasn't about to argue). The room was at least 85 deg F, and I was incredibly hot, but I just thought it would take some time to cool down. I hopped in a cold shower, and after, the room just felt hotter. The temp had not adjusted at all. I climbed on the bed to feel the air blowing out of the air conditioner, and it was just that: air, not cold air, just a fan. I checked my phone to connect to the "free wifi" and there were no wifi options. After waiting about another 20 min, I decided to walk down and ask for another room. No one in sight. All lights were off in the hotel, including hallways. I walked in and out of several guest rooms yelling "Hello!" with no answer. I packed my things to leave and upon walking out, the owner saw me leaving and basically berated me for arriving too late and said the air just needed "time.

I am sorry you were disappointed with your recent visit to Al Hambra, our guests comfort, safety and enjoyment are our No 1 priority. I would like to clarify some of the points raised. The hotel is situated on the West Bank, Luxor in a village some 5 minutes walk from the ferry. This is a quiet, peaceful and very safe area. You arrived, by ferry at 2am and as you would expect at this time most people are asleep. The streets are lite, but this is not a big city so you cannot expect the lighting to be the same. We changed your room as you said the aircon wasn’t working, you then said the aircon wasn't working in the 2nd room and left the hotel less than 30 minutes after your initial arrival. The nighttime temperature is 28 – 38 degrees at this time of the year, the air con needs time to cool the walls 10 – 15 minutes is not long enough. Free Wi -Fi is provided, but at no time did you mention it or ask for the password to enable you to use it. We hope you eventually enjoyed your stay in our beautiful historical city and experienced how friendly and helpful Egyptians are. Mohamed Ali, Hotel manager,
