Certainement le meilleur choix à Lucknow!
Excellence du staff! Tous le personnel est aux petits soins anticipant sur tous les besoins d'un séjour parfait. Hôtel de classe, ancien, central, qui a gardé ses grandes chambres bien entretenues avec un service de premier ordre. Chambres bien climatisées été comme hiver (il peut faire froid à Lucknow). Très bon buffet gratuit pour le petit déjeuner. Diner/buffet varié et excellent! What else? Très bon rapport qualité/prix si on réserve par Hotels.com. J'en fait ma résidence à Lucknow…

Average stay!
The location of the hotel is good and the staff is courteous and friendly. Although the stay was average because of couple of reasons - there was hardly any hot water for bath, it was always lukewarm and secondly on one night, the ACs were not working and we all had terrible sleep. The queen size bed for a couple with a kid is absolutely a no go!

Good hotel, but you need to be careful with staff.
This is a great hotel. Unfortunately, the front desk staff cannot be trusted. They blatantly tried to rip me off while checking out. I arranged a late checkout for an extra cost. I needed to vacate the room by 6:00 PM. I did so, at approximately 5:50 PM. I turned in the key to the front desk staff and informed them that I would be in the restaurant, and that they should prepare my bill. In the restaurant, I had a feeling that I should be careful to document that I left the room before 6:00 PM, so I took a picture at 5:58 PM in the restaurant with my iPhone. When I went back to the front desk to pay my bill, the front desk staff was argumentative, and tried to claim that I checked out after 6:00 PM and wanted to charge me the full day's rate for the room. I contested this and showed them the picture from the restaurant with the time stamp, and the front desk staff give up — they knew I had caught them.

Decent hotel close to everything
It was a nice clean hotel with food available all the time. They even have an early packed breakfast option (we used for the day we were flying out early morning). The staff was helpful. Things that could have been better - the food which wasn't bad but I expected better. One thing which was a little annoying was that since the hotel was on a busy street, taking the car out was really hard during rush hour and the hotel guard who was present didn't help.

It was great to receive hospitality and willingness to make clients happy. Breakfast offer is excellent. It is located in a shopping area and it may be one of the best hotels in Lucknow. However, wifi connection needs improvement.

Best hospitality experience
One of the best hospitality experience i have had in all of my journeys thru out the world.I felt amazingly welcomed from the point i entered into the hotel.Front office to Housekeeping staff everyone were pleasant, helpful ,courteous. Hotel is been maintained extremely well.its ambiance, decor everything was appealing. It is centrally located in a way that malls restaurants everything's at a walking distance.Thanks to the wonderful hospitality.

The staff were very accomodative - giving us late check in. We were there on a sad occassion, they made the stay comfortable.

Hotel for tourists- not for business travelers
I traveled to Lucknow for business. My job requires good wifi connection and a basic business centre. My main disappointment was their terrible wifi connectivity. Although they claimed to have fast wifi. After I checked in, I could not find any wifi in my room, I had to actually carry my laptop to different rooms, in different floors, to find wifi connectivity. I did find a room with connectivity finally but the wifi kept fluctuating during my five day stay. It was a struggle to do international conference calls and I had to finally resort to ISD calls. I also found the front desk to be understaffed, particularly during the evenings and with check in rush. It caused unnecessary delays. I generally found staff to be polite and helpful within their means. I found this hotel to be ideal for families who can afford mid-range rooms. Not suitable for high flying professionals.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very polite and helpful, the whole hotel was very clean, the location was very good. The wifi in the room was reliable. The room service was always very quick. There is a very good all-you-can-eat grill restaurant on the roof and another menu restaurant off the lobby.

Great location but urgent need of refurbishment
This was my 3rd stay in this hotel. But this time the hotel was many notches below its previous experiences - a few years back. It urgently requires refurbishment and upgrade of its maintenance. The food was as good as ever though.

Excellent business hotel
Have always enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Ever since i have been travelling to lucknow, Le Place has been my favourite hotel not only for the excellent facilities but also for been strategically located very close to the shopping areas. Excellent food in house and a wide variety of local flavours available around the hotel.

Good location...
The location is good and right in Hazratganj near all the shopping and restaurants. But the hotel is quite old and urgently needs renovation. The rooms need to be cleaned better. The towels smell of chemicals. The breakfast spread though large contained average food. The FOJ was not so fresh. The people at the reception weren't so friendly either. All in all, worth the location but avoidable otherwise.

Overall this hotel was nice. The building is in a good location and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. Staff are nice and helpful. Reasonable room rates. The one problem area is cafeteria/dining room. The upholstery was dirty but more importantly the food was on the expensive side but was substandard for a nicer hotel. The breakfast buffet items such as french toast, omelettes and hash browns were just not very well prepared. There is one toaster and it doesn't work very well and the fresh fruit was not ripe. The dinner buffet consisted of a lot of noodle and pasta dishes that are fairly cheap to prepare. The deserts were very commercial. The strawberry cheesecakes were more like jello and the chocolate cake was like a supermarket. I do not believe this is the chef's fault it just seemed the hotel wanted to be as frugal as possible with the buffets.

Very disappointed with my decision to book this hotel. Informed the hotel for late check in still had to wait for an hour to get the room. The bathroom fittings are of poor quality and the breakfast served stale juice. Its a shame to call it a star hotel.

Room was reasonably ok, aircon worked though it was noisy. Food for breakfast was pretty good, main criticism was the guy who insistently woke us up by continuously knowcking on our door to make money from laundry from us, and man aged to ruin our frien'ds sari whcih she was due to wear at a wedding.

friendly oasis in India
This clean, friendly affordable hotel on a side street off downtown Lucknow India is a surprising jewel. The staff is attentive and constantly willing to please. The room service is prompt and the food well prpared and tasty. The rooms while not large are definitely up to American and European standards with marble flooring, comfortable beds, a touch of old world styling and clean moderm bathrooms. It is not a large hotel so it can offer personal services not always available at larger hotels.

Great Service Again
This is my second stay at La Place Sarovar Portico -and they were great. The rooms are large and very clean, and the staff helpful but not too "in your face". Only two criticisms, both to do with room service - I had a meal where the chicken wasn't cooked properly, and a meal where they delivered the wrong dish - in the second case it was a poor phone connection plus my non-Indian accent that caused the problem. On both occasions they fixed the problem straight away. I will be staying there next time I am in Lucknow

Great hotel
This was a really great hotel. Excelent service, NIce rooms, very clean and quiet. The buffet breakfast was the best we had in India. The hotel is also in a pretty good location. Althou it is not that close to the tourist sights, it is only a short walk from the main shopping/dining street in the new town centre. This next part is no reflection on the hotel: Be wary if you are female and travelling to Lucknow (or get ready for it if you are going there with your wife) as the attention and treatment given to females here is horrendous. And this was the last stop of our month-long trip and by then we though we were used to it. Men will stop and stare grotesquely and foreign females here, even if they are dressed conservatively.

My expectation with this hotel was quite high as i have stayed in Sarovar Portico hotels in other parts of India. Its an average and clean hotel for business trip located in Hazratgunj area in Lucknow.
