The stairs leading to the second-floor home are fairly steep and constructed of pine, a subdued color that tends to blend one stair into another; without a dark strip marking each step, those with vision impairments might easily miss a step. Carrying luggage to the second floor can be a challenge, but descending with luggage could be disastrous unless one “backs down” one step at a time. The kitchen, dining, and living room areas with recessed lighting are finished in knotty pine, rendering the area very attractive with regional touches such as a wooden moose and a bear skin rug. However, the couch and the deck chairs are very low to the ground, making it a struggle to stand from a semi-crouching position. The television is internet streaming only . . . no cable channels. There were times when the internet feed was weak, rendering some channels without sound, video, or occasionally unavailable altogether.Littleton, New Hampshire, a very active north country town, sits just off I-93, a major north-south interstate that leads to Cannon and Loon Mountain, two major ski areas as well as various hiking trails and numerous area attractions for both young and old. Be prepared to drive 30-45 minutes for some of the outlying areas of interest. Finally, the owner has spent a considerable amount of money in building and outfitting this home. It is beautiful and spacious, but for someone in their mid-eighties, it was a bit overwhelming.
